Thrifty Update......

Happy Sunday to you...

Have purchased a few really nice Thrifty articles the last few weeks...

This adorable little cardigan set was just $3...and I thought the colour on Miss V would be really nice....

Oh....

We did go to the cottage on Friday...

Blustery...

Damp...

Dark...

BUT...the best news!

THe furnace is up and running!!!

Warmed up the old place in no time at all!

My boyfriend got some more outdoor jobs taken care of...

While I did all the mirrors and gave it a good dusting...

Now.........back to the thrifty finds!!

This adorable handknit pullover was a mere $2....so cute with some leggings...

The picture above came out kinda dark...and looks yellow...but believe me..it is pristene!

This next one is a real favorite of Miss V's...She had outgrown her previous housecoat { I also got at a thrift shop}...It was more difficult to find one this time....this is probably a boy's housecoat...

But with the addition of some rick-rack from my stash of sewing what-nots...

I think it looks perfect!

And....Miss V loves the wee snowman...♥️

So..........for $2.79....it is utterly perfect!

Will fit her for the whole winter....and we love our housecoat after our bath...

Right Miss  V?

"Nana....whatever....I am watching Thomas the Tank Engine...we will talk later!"

Hope you all had a great weekend, so far...

Some sun today....but still windy and chilly...

I put a few plants in the garage last night...just in case some frost hit them...

Don't think we got any frost...but wanted to save my geraniums♥️

I have Beef Stew simmering...

Boyfriend picked up some crusty bread...That's Dinner!!!

I have all the ingredients ready to make an Apple Pie Bread...it has been 4ever since I made one of those...and it is so darn delicious!!!

Enjoy the rest of your day...

What's cookin' in your kitchen?

                                       Cheers!   :o)

  3. This is exciting, I'm posting early in your long list of admiring readers. Love the photo of Miss V. in her "new" little house coat. She's adorable. Went on a fall walk with the River Wood hiking group this morning, through the trail with the same name as my boyfriend! Having leftovers from our kids/ grandkids lunch here yesterday, which ended up at 20 attendees, whew. Enjoy your stew and have a good week, maybe we'll cross paths soon, LK. :)

  4. You're such a good Nana.:) You've given me the idea now to look for wool sweaters for little Gwynn at our thrift shops. That cardigan set is adorable and so is the house-coat now that you have personalized it a bit. It's so cute on her. She has the cutest little nose ever. Your dinner sounds comforting on this cool evening. The retired-guy has a roast on with all the trimmings; roasted potatoes, carrots, onion and yam & turnip for me. I'm just back from putting food down for some kitties and it is really chilly out there. It's supposed to warm up a bit this week, though. Hope for you, too. Have a great Sunday evening, Linda. Hugs, Deb

  9. Oh the gyrations I went through with my daughter to let her capture those thrifty finds when the kids were little. Thank goodness they have grown enough to want to go "thrift" shopping with me especially since Tabi is soooooo into the 60s, lol...Great finds Linda...Miss V is growing so fast. I'm sure she'll be snuggling out of them as quick as into them, lol...Dinner sounds perfect! We're expecting frost tonight. Took some plants in. Sprouts are suppose to taste better with frost. Too bad, lots of leaves, teeny, teeny balls of... sprouts?

  10. Wonderful thrifty finds. We have a Bibles & Missions opening in a couple of weeks, looking forward to browsing around it. The dressing gown, as we call them in England, looks adorable with the rick rack. I made a beef stew as well and we'll have it tomorrow. We love meals like that on the second day. Chilly day today but nothing falling from the sky! I remember Thomas the train and how the little ones just loved it ... on to Lego and baby dolls now :)

  11. What great finds!
I went to the thrift store and found a good pair of Levis for Joe and a couple of games for the kids. They had a great time with Hungry Hippos this afternoon!
Your post and that top comment are making me miss those days long gone when we would go to Crystal Beach and stay with my MIL for the weekend.
    *sigh*

  13. You hit the jackpot for Miss V!!! The ric rac was the perfect addition to the robe. And I love the yellow cardi set and pink sweater! So cute! I have found some amazing things on my thrifting hunts. I don't buy for the girls. Their Mama is a fashionista, and buys them SO much! It seems silly for me to buy more. And Gennifer isn't one to cotton to used clothing from someone she doesn't know. I have NO problem however. I wash it well, and it is as good as new. I will buy for everyone else though. Are you familiar with Facanable shirts for men? They are very high end dress and casual wear. My Daddy used to wear them. Nordsrom carries them. I found Greg three in perfect condition!!! PERFECT!!! So beautiful! A big find for me!!!
Glad the furnace is working up in the cottage so you can go in the winter.
    Hugs to you sweetie!

No need to worry about me. You're such a sweetheart.
