🎈🎈🎈 Two Birthdays...Two Afghans....🎈🎈🎈

The month of April, is a very busy one for this family!!!

My eldest daughter is April 26...and my son is April 29th...

What do you get these big kids for gifts???

Yup...you guessed it!!! AFGHANS my MOI!!! hahaha!!

The brown/beige/creamy one was for my daughter...

The grey/charcoal/blue/black one was for my son...

I opted for Pom Poms for my daughters.....

And Tassels for my sons....

I also managed to crochet a few more Cat Mats....

The Cats really gravitate to these....strange,eh??

For those of you who are crocheters....

The grey mix was all Vanna's Choice yarn....lovely,soft, squishy, easy to work with....

The dreamy creamy beige brown one was Bernat Premium Tweed for the main colour, and a few of Vanna's Choice for the browns....

I especially liked adding the scalloped border to my daughter's....really softened up the edges....

I kept my son's border more plain...more manly! hahaha!!

They are always so thankful when I make them something...

And I truly enjoy making them for them. ♥️

Some people say I should sell them in an ETSY shop...but to me...it would take all the pleasure away. Not to mention the prices people pay for these type of handmade items!!!!!! How would you ever put a price on it????

To me....they are priceless...💛💙💜💚

These are several of the Cat Mats......

I have had a very busy week...

2 days at the cottage, working on the garden clean-up...

And we were lucky enough to have Miss V for Friday and a sleepover...

Her and I kept ourselves very busy...

Last evening...we all met in Burlington at a lovely wee Mexican gluten-free restaurant called "The Burro"...

This was to celebrate my Son's 40th birthday....

We had a really great time...and the food was fabulous!!

I have put a few pics up on IG...but I will organize a post for later in the week...

This post is all about the CROCHET!!! hahaha!!!

          Hope you are all well...

              Enjoy your week ahead...

                    Cheers!   :o)

                           linda ♥️

Thanks for the lovely comment...no pattern...just one big Granny Square...alternating colours as you go...with whatever you chose...I have done this several times, and they always turn out nice.
Are you a crocheter??? Do you have a blog???
      Hope you visit again...

    2. Thanks for the welcome and explaining it was one big Granny Square. I think the pic with the folded up corners/pompoms confused me.
I haven't crocheted in years, but your Afghan and colors used are striking. It looks so soft...and dreamy.
Your daughter will love it. Oh, I am not a blogger, just a reader.

  14. The afghans are lovely Linda. I have just finished my first project, a baby blanket & considering it's my first attempt I'm really pleased with it. The wool was thicker than I've worked with for knitting but it was quite soft, however once it was all finished I was a little disappointed in the softness, it didn't have the drape (if you know what I mean) to it that I was hoping for. It will be ideal for a knee cover in the stroller or for a little one to lie on but my next project must have a softer feel. I have used the Vanna wool before for knitting bears so maybe I'll give it a try. How big did you make the afghans, I think I might have a go at making some for my granddaughters to cuddle up with while watching television. Now that I have mastered a granny square I am enjoying crocheting, I find myself anxious to get my chores done so I can resume my new hobby ha!!!

  16. What special birthday gifts from Mom....they are so beautiful. Love the colors of both. October is our month for Birthdays. Our son, 2 grandsons, 1 great grandson, a daughter in law. The rest are spread out during the year. I love Mexican food, just can't have the hot and spicy. I thought after my gallbladder surgery I could handle it...but no...so I choose the mile stuff. Bummer!!! Hugs.

It's a gift from the heart..priceless as you say..and how comforting an afghan..cozy cozy.
