Gardens....Here... and at the Cottage....

A few more photos from the weekend at the cottage...

This wee inchworm dropped down from the trees onto the arm of my chair!!

We laughed so hard...so cute!!

He ended up on my boyfriends shoe! hahaha!

My Tomato plants were looking very lush and green...

A few wee flowers...future rewards!!

The Sunflower seeds that Miss V and I planted the weekend before!!

We put them in a HUGE planter...I added a few perennials around the edges...

What a spectacular show it will be!!

Got some Green Beans planted...Hope the Bunnies don't eat them all!!

Bought this sweet little succulent...the flowers close up at night!

These lovely Geraniums never fail to impress me...

They have spread far and wide...which is fine with me!!

Not as many Iris this year...guess they are fading away...

But...I do still love their beauty...even if short-lived...

Here at home...

In the back garden...

Miss V's Sunflowers are getting very big!!

I have them all in one pot here too...

Much easier to move into the shade when we go to the cottage...

And...

Easier to water!!

 I added this Ivy to a wicker planter {thrifty buy}on the Maple in the backyard...

I really like the way it looks...and...I can bring the plant inside for the Winter!!

Now...to the front garden...I planted Miss V's Pumpkins out here...

I think they need to crawl along...so...this was a good spot for them...

Only gets morning-early afternoon sun...again...less watering!

There are two spots where there are flowers forming...

How cool, if we actually get a Pumpkin!! Her very own!!

My front garden has no grass...just perennials...love it this way...

Right now...the entire garden is full of Summer Anemones...

A few Daisies poking thru...and some Black Eyed Susans...and Coneflowers...

They sure make a magnificent display...

Miss V's favorite sitting spot is looking great....The Hostas are filling in nicely!!

She was here yesterday...suffering from a finger injury at school...:o(

Seems she fell and bent her finger back...bit of bruising on the underside of her knuckle...

When I arrived...she was in a state...I got ice on it right away...

She was a trooper...kept the ice on for a few hours...ate a big lunch...

Watched a few shows...and we went to the park...for a short visit...

Ate all her dinner...and was excited to tell her Mom all about her day...♥️

                                      ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hope you are all well...and having a great week...fabulous weather!!
We are off to the cottage...yes...I know it is Thursday...YIPPEE!!!
I cannot wait to see if all of my plantings are still alive...or shrivelled...:o(
I think it rained down there last night...fingers crossed...
Any big plans for Fathers Day???
My daughter Lissa and SIL Jeff are coming to the cottage on Saturday...
My son Ryan and future DIL Anna and Erika and Miss V will visit their Dad here on Sunday...
Wonder what great gifts they will come up with this year?? Hahaha!!
        Have a great weekend everyone!!
              Cheers!   :o)
  1. Miss V's plants are doing well. Enjoy a long weekend at the cottage, looks like wonderful weather. I'm just pottering around outside, watering some plants, moving some pots around. Then I'm going to sit in the shade and read :)
  2. Beautiful pics as always! I have some new surprises coming up this year in the garden. Looking at your pictures...my mystery flower may be a type of iris. Purple and like yours but a bunch in a bloom spreading like a firework. I'll have to email you a pic and you can tell me what you think.
    I love a bloom that closes at night...leaves, too, like a shamrock. It give them a human
    element that I think is charming!
    Your father's day, too? We're cooking all the mister's favorites and I'm sure there will
    be a few gifts. Hope the weather stays nice!
  5. Hey, Linda! Your flowers are gorgeous! I love the ivy in the wicker basket on the tree. Looks like your toe is still bummed up or should I say, whipped. We're having a Hamburger cook-out Saturday with a few friends, at the lake....thank heavens, the weather is going to be about 10 degrees cooler. We wouldn't be able to tolerate it, otherwise. One of our daughters will be here for Father's Day; the other won't be able to be here because she lives in Colorado. But, I'm sure she will call her daddy and wish him much happiness.
  13. Ah yes, I hear from my daughter it is Father's Day in Canada this Sunday. She is also hosting a gathering at her place. You really are a gifted gardener Linda, with two gardens full of interesting plants, all looking in great condition. The little pink succulent is one I have! My friend gave me a cutting and it is hardy and copes with all weathers, and produces those pretty pink flowers most of the year. Your iris is gorgeous - I am drooling over it... Have a great weekend at the cottage.
  17. Wow, you're such a super gardener. Sorry to read that the chipmunks have been feasting at the cottage. Nice that you had the family on the weekend. Lots of BBQ's here, including the condo/ neighbours one. Hope everybody's fingers and toes are fully recovered! :)
  18. I love your flowers and gardens. What a beautiful relaxing spot to sit and enjoy a tall glass of something cold on a hot day. My gardens have become rather haphazard as of late. Been spending more time inside trying to settle the dust than outside in the dirt. Seasons.
    Next week I'll start having every other Wednesday off work. Perhaps it will give me time to accomplish some of those otherwise put-off tasks. Maybe I'll even find a Friday to drive a little north... Maybe.
