Stormy Skies..........
HI Everybody!.....I'm back! hahaha!
Spent 5 days out at the cottage...loved every second of it!!
We had friends out for the day on Thursday...perfect weather...
They kept comparing the sights and sounds to being by the ocean!
We chatted and chatted...not too many pics...just a few...will share later!!
These Stormy Skies are from Friday afternoon...
A lot of threatening dark clouds...brisk twirling winds...
And guess what??
MAYBE 5 DROPS OF RAIN!!!!!!!
Which was fine with us...the boyfriend and I thoroughly enjoyed watching the storm pass us by...
That evening...while eating on the sunporch...we could see the lightning across the lake in NY state...

Thanks so much for all your kind comments on my previous post...
Much appreciated...
I have some lovely flower photos to share this week...
Must get organized with my pics!! I promise I'll be back...sooner than later!!
Crazy hot humid weather here again...and its gonna get hotter!!
Kind of overcast...and windy...I have been to the grocery store, and I am all stocked up with fresh veggies and fruit and meat again...
Hope you all had a great weekend...
How is your weather???
Enjoy the rest of your day...
Cheers! :o)

Hot and dry here, we sure need more than a 10 minute sprinkle of rain.
ReplyDeleteI love watching the sky, you got some great photos.
For sure Linda...I wish it would rain every night!
DeleteHow are you?
We aren't having a great summer here so far. Rainy, windy and temperatures in the teens. Yuck! Hoping it warms up some.
ReplyDeleteWe are hot.....hot.....hot!
DeleteThose are great cloud pictures! A bit of rain wouldn't be too bad. Do you have a lot of hanging pots and planters that need watering? -Jenn
ReplyDeleteAt the cottage, I do baskets with a mix of annuals and perennials... I move them into the shade...and water before I leave! I do have a hanging Fern and Geranium..they are doing great! My tomatoes and green beans are in huge pots...tomatoes are withered sometimes, but they perk up after a good drink!
DeleteWow! Those are some sky shots. Glad you gad a good stretch of weather. We`ve had both rainy and sunny days. Today was beautiful and all 5 grandittles were at the mouse-house. phew!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful weather....hot and breezy! 5? Wow...you are brave! Enjoy!
Deletewith their parents. lol I'm not nuts.
DeleteHahaha!
DeleteGlad you are back, Linda. Thought you'd gone back to Florida . . . lol
ReplyDeleteLove the storm clouds and it was amazing they passed you by with just a little sprinkling, Nice to see the lightning in the background and I expect NY State got a drenching.
Our weather is in what I call screensaver mode. Summer just cannot seem to get going and the sunshine is minimal. Better prospects have been promised by the weathermen/ladies. Last year was so much better but there is still time to recover. We are all just about starting to recover from the Brexit shock and many, myself included, feel that ultimately it will be better for the country.
. . . gosh my comment is almost as long as your post . . . haha . . . :)
Hi Eddie...
DeleteNope...still here....just some fabulous cottage time...
We are getting lots of heat...no rain!
Can't complain....right?
Beautiful sky! And kind of fun that you got to watch it pass by and not rain on your weekend!
ReplyDeleteGlad you had such a fun 5 days!
We sure did...thanks Betsy!
DeleteGorgeous photos Linda . . .
ReplyDeleteStormy clouds, skies seem to hold a mystic and mystery . . .
How wonderful to watch the skies from the cottage and the water . . .
Wonderful post . . .
Thanks Lynne...it was breathtaking!
DeleteI think our weather has been a lot like yours, only a couple hours later (more or less, depending on the wind).
ReplyDeleteWe got some rain one night this weekend but I can't remember which anymore. Ha ha! It's hit or miss with those thunder storms. Love that our lakes are kind of like oceans.
:0)
Oh me too! Always something exciting to watch and listen to!
DeleteGorgeous photos....I love stormy skies. This question just dawned on me. Do you swim in the lake?
ReplyDeleteOh yes...great swimming! Lake Erie is the smallest and shallowest of the 5 Great Lakes...lots of sandbars too!!
DeleteWhat fabulous skies you have over the lake Linda. So dramatic, and terrific photographs. Loving the beautiful barns too. I hear it is very hot over there!
ReplyDeleteYes...very hot! and the heatwave continues!!
DeleteYour new Canadian flags are getting a helluva workout!
ReplyDeleteLake Erie, eh?
DeleteSo why am I reminded of THIS?
ReplyDeleteHI Blue....
DeleteYIKES!
Now.....THAT is a storm!
Pretty close. Look again: CLICK! (1:09)
DeleteBut you may still say, "YIKES!"
Oh my!!!
DeleteEven scarier than a storm!!
Hollywood can make everything look fantastic,eh??
By the way...L O V E Jeff Goldblum♥️
Wow! Terrific sky photos. Love them.
ReplyDeleteFive days is a nice chunk of time... so glad you enjoyed it.
I am finally back in A/C but will be vacating soon as I am having the whole place painted and hardwood floors laid throughout. I am living in turmoil but looking forward to the end results. If I survive!
Loved the 5 days! Can't wait to go back!
DeleteWhere will you go? You are brave!
Boyfriend wants new floors in kitchen and dining room...I am wimpy!
I will be staying at another friend's place. I have terrific friends and I'm so grateful for their help and support.
DeleteI'm with boyfriend! Go for it! I am sure you will love the end result.
Lovely photos . Friday we got hit by that storm poured on us torrential rains but didn't last long and the winds were up to 90klm it was a wicked one trees down in the area . The rest of the weekend had been nice but dry still with all this heat . The lake breezes are nice aren't they ?! Thanks for sharing , Have a good day !
ReplyDeleteLove the lake breezes!
DeleteHi Linda, love seeing your stormy skies and hearing about your weekend. That last shot is amazing! Also loved seeing all the family photos in your previous post. Miss V looks like she had quite a good time - so adorable! We have been having a very cool and wet summer, so far. It is a nice break from the drought we have had the previous few summers and I am glad for the break in watering and fear of forest fires. Always love going to the lake with you :) xx K
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Karen....you are cool and wet, we are HOT and dry!
DeleteMiss V LOVES the cottage...can't blame her!
Come by anytime!
I would compare your lake to the ocean! When I can't see shore I get weirded out ! For someone who lives on a large lake I do have my fears, especially storms and rough waters. Your clouds looked ominous but otherwise...what a great time!!!
ReplyDeleteLove to you,
Jane
thanks Jane...
