Hi everyone!!!
Seems like it takes me forever to get something posted anymore!!
We had a fabulous time at the cottage...4 sleeps!! Only one lousy day!!
I had this ready to give to my daughter Erika for her birthday...
And.....now I can show you!!
I really like the way this one came out...easy stitches...love the colours!!
She has a grey couch, so I think this will match nicely...
I used Vanna's Choice again...love this yarn!!
*********************
I am getting my weekend pictures together...
Last day of Summer and first day of Fall...loved it!!
Hope you all had a wonderful weekend and that you are all well...
Thanks for all your lovely comments on my last post...
I am feeling even BETTER...so that is good news!
Sneak peek at the kind of weather we had!!!
Enjoy your evening...
Cheers! :o)
linda ♥️
That is beautiful! My favorite so far...but of course, I do love gray!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a wonderful long weekend for you! So nice!
Enjoy those chops... ♥
I won't tell Lissa...remember her "Beachy" afghan? Hahaha!
DeleteI hope these are things that my kids will treasure....and have for years...I am working on one for ME!
Love pork chops....and....mashed potatoes with that!
Great for a dreary damp day....
The blanket is gorgeous! The grays are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteIt is most definitely fall on this side of Canada. Brrr! I put the flannel sheets on already.
Happy First Day of Fall to you! (A few days late.)
Thanks Barbara...
DeleteOur weather was great, up til today! Rainy and dark...hope the sun returns!
It's beautiful!
ReplyDeleteShe must have been so happy!Your stitches are perfection..and the tassels:)
Just reading a book where the woman takes pics on the beaches w/ words she writes to make cards etc..and sells them..so of course your words made me think of it right away!
Chilly and grey now too..
I am crazy for tassels! So easy to make! We have had rain all day...tomorrow supposed to be better!
DeleteI need to get to the grocery store...it has been over a week!
That's a gorgeous afghan, I love using Vanna's choice yarb too. I'm finally back fron BC and on track with getting back to my website. Hope Miss V enjoyed starting school. Our grandson out west had an awesome start.
ReplyDeleteSuch nice yarn to work with!
DeleteI saw a few of your posts on FB...looked like you had it all out there in BC! Even a Turkey dinner!
She loves school...and her uniform!
Welcome home!
Glad to hear that you are well and that you had a great time at the cottage. Happy Birthday to your daughter, the blanket is beautiful! I am sure she will love and treasure it! xx
ReplyDeleteThanks Amy....long time no see! How are the family things going?
DeleteYou dropped a stitch . . . hahaha!
ReplyDeleteLovely present and lovely creation by a lovely lady . . :)
You are very talented, rather like Maria's mother who crocheted matts which still adorn my house. My mother's talent was tatting, similar but on a much smaller scale using a shuttle . . :)
I see the feet are still holding up well . . hahaha:)
Hi Eddie....
DeleteHahaha! I am sure I dropped a few...more likely to happen in knitting!
Tatting is quite a skill...I have seen it done with a tiny crochet hook...
Yes...the feet are hanging onto the flip flops for dear life!
. . . you mean the flip flops are holding onto the feet for dear life . . . haha!!!!
DeleteGlad to see you back to your old (er I mean normal) self . . . lol
Having baby Rosa tomorrow for the day ~ keeps me young but my feet alas are not in as good condition, with or without flip flops . . :)
You are a fabulous Grampa Eddie....you really are....hugs to Rosa ♥️
DeleteAw . . . thank you Linda. I do try . . :)
DeleteRosa and I already seem to have a fun relationship going. We look at one another and start laughing so hard . . . :)
♥️
DeleteWhat a lovely crochet throw!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Debra!
DeleteOh those colors are so beautiful. I think I would have trouble giving it away. You daughter will absolutely love it.
ReplyDeleteI find the time slips by me too...and I don't post like I used too. We are getting ready for our annual trip to Lake Tahoe and I'm really looking forward to it. Have not done any Fall decorations which is so not like me....get I'm getting old...I mean lazy. HaHa
It crossed my mind, Wanda! It was really soft.....
DeleteI don't seem to have any time to post...can't figure out why?
You're not getting old...,you're getting better! Never lazy!
Wow, always such a creative lady! This latest one is a beauty, I'm sure that Erika will love it. Nice that you had an extended weekend at the cottage and I'll look forward to your photos. Glad to see that you're still not giving up the flip flops. :) Have a good week and take care...
ReplyDeleteThanks Miss Hester...i do enjoy the work...keeps my brain occupied!
DeleteIt was a great weekend...will work on the photos...love my flip flops!
You too dear!
It's a beautiful afghan. Love the big tassels on the corners!
ReplyDeleteI do need to pull mine out and see if I can recall what I was doing last year.
:0)
Hi Martha....
DeleteYes....get yours out...it will keep you warm as you work on it!
It is really beautiful! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much!
DeleteThis is so pretty and my favorite colors as I love neutrals. Wow, you are creative, Linda!
ReplyDeleteSo glad you had a great time at the cottage. Love your words, 4 sleeps. That's really how it should be measured. We've had so many weekend commitments here in the city but I can honestly say we are now ready to go back to our place and continue to settle in.
Yes!
So glad you are feeling better. My cold seemed to last forever.
Jane
Hahaha! We talk to Miss V like that...she understands "sleeps" rather than days!
DeleteI really like the way the afghan turned out...and it is fun to do! Keeps me occupied!
Still a wee bit of a cough...but, this has been since Labour Day weekend....I lost most of September!
More updates from your Lake House please!
Oh, this is so pretty and cuddly-looking, Linda! What a nice gift! Love the tassels, too. Your piggies are the prettiest shade of pink! So nice that you had good weather for your cottage time. We have to savor these golden days while they last! xo Karen
ReplyDeleteYes Karen....lovely and soft! Fall is so short...hopefully a nice warm one!
DeleteI really like that! It is more densely crocheted and I like that kind rather than the ones that seem to be looser with more gaps in the pattern (they seem "colder" to me). The colours you chose are lovely. -Jenn
ReplyDeleteI am making myself a Granny square one....much holier, but just as warm! Perfect for me, as I tend to overheat! Hahaha!
Deletethat afghan is so beautiful. yes love the colors.
ReplyDeletehey cc girl... your glam toes need to be celebrating fall now... about cherry red? :D
Eeeeeeeek! I hate RED!....I will stick to the pinks!
DeleteGlad you like the afghan 😬
Lucky Erika!! That afghan is gorgeous, Linda. I love the colours and pattern. Glad you had a good visit to the cottage. The season is winding down. Have a great week. xo Pam
ReplyDeleteThanks Pam...cottage was great! Beautiful day today....
DeleteLove it!!! Your stitches are so uniform. Did you double crochet the whole afghan? How many chain stitches did you start with? The one I'm working on now is just one big granny square...I'm about half way through with it. I may try one like yours next.
ReplyDeleteThanks Laurie!
DeleteI started with a 130 stitches....half double crochet stitch....ch2 at the end of each row...
You can choose your colour scheme...I used Vanna's Choice...worsted...medium 4 weight....
Do show us your Granny square...mine is growing...but...looking a wee bit wonky! Hahaha!
Thanks for the info, Linda!! I'll definitely follow your instructions on my next one. I'll show the Granny Square one when I'm done. My corners look kind of wonky, but I'm thinking if I add tasseles like you did that it might camouflage it. Ha!
DeleteLooking forward to seeing yours!
DeleteOh my . . .
ReplyDeleteMore than lovely . . .
Lovely Afghan, Linda:) Sorry to hear you weren't feeling well but at least you're recuperating quite nicely and ready for Fall!!!
ReplyDeleteIt was a quick Summer wasn't it:) I'm ready for Fall also I guess:)
Thanks so much for sharing, Linda...I will be MIA from blogging for a while but hope to be able to drop by every now and again...Take care Linda, enjoy every single moment. Each day is a gift...
