Christmas At Our House.......✨✨✨

I had cut a few wee branches of White Pine, from one of my trees at the cottage. I also snipped a few pieces of Euonymus from the back yard here at home...The Red and White Carnations that I bought were a perfect match for the fresh festive greens...And the Christmas centerpiece was born!
I love the green and red and white with my tartan tablecloth!!

Christmas Eve was looking very festive indeed!!
Other than going to Church with our son...{boyfriend...not me}
Boyfriend and I spent a quiet Christmas Eve this year...
Taking in the candlelight and Christmas lights...while watching The Christmas Carol...with Alastair Sims...which I had recorded the night before...Always look forward to that movie...and never tire of it...and always shed a few tears as well...❤️

Christmas Day when things really got hopping around here!!

When Miss V arrived...we shot into high gear!!!

She was very good about the presents...and we even played with a few before dinner...

She especially loved one from her Auntie Lissa and Uncle Jeff...a whole box of miniature Disney Dolls...all the female characters from most of the movies...
She was beside herself!! They also bought her a set of drums!!!!!! That they kept at their house!!!! We have a video of her playing...and I must say...a real talent!!! She has been practising on her Uncle Jeffs for a couple of years!! We laughed and said she could drive her Red VW to her gigs! hahahaha!!!

Dinner went off without a hitch...

everyones dietary needs were met!!

Lemon Cheesecake, and Gluten Free Apple Berry crisp with Ice Cream for dessert...

Boyfriends brother and our Nephew joined us for dessert...

We had lots of laughs...and everyone behaved themselves! hahaha!!!

After dinner...Miss V grabbed my hand, and asked to go out and see the Moon and the lights in the back yard.....I said there was no Moon that night, but we could absolutely go out and look at the lights together...she said "Lets get our blue rain boots Nana"....and...."get your camera, and take a picture of our boots in the snow"...OMG...I thought I was going to cry right then and there...my wee Miss V loves the routine and rhythm of Nana and Papas house...I could not be happier with that...it made my day...love her so much...I cannot explain...but...anyone with grandchildren gets it...♥️♥️♥️
And...when they relish what you do and have done with them, it is the best reward in the world...ok...ok...enough mush...gosh...my glasses are fogging up, and I need to finish this post, so I can go work on my afghan!!

I am sure you all enjoyed yourselves immensely over the last few days...

And I am sure you all look forward to getting back into the old routine!!

I want to wish you all the best in 2017...health and happiness...

Perhaps I will be back before New Years Eve...any plans??????

I think we are off for a drive to the cottage tomorrow...will pick up Miss V and take her along with us...she LOVES the cottage...any time of year!!

Enjoy the rest of your week...

                         Cheers!   :o)

  3. Your Christmas sounds like it was lovely, Linda. The tree and pretty dining table, so beautiful. Family in abundance. And Miss V. I know now how a child brings such joy into our homes. We had that with Elsie as she smiled shyly and looked as if she doubted the gifts were for her! I get you on the rhythm and routine. We keep Elsie's toys in the family room and she never forgets where they are, and she wants ALL of them at once. On Christmas night after dinner her other grandma home (we are all very good friends), she laid on the couch with her head in my lap and her feet on Pop. I swear she was thrilled to see us in a different setting. ;)

We are off to the lake Friday. I hope you have a lovely time at yours. A brisk walk and a cozy dinner, lots of reading and enjoying some wine in front of the fire. Jut what I need now!

Hope to get a post up before then.

    Hugs,

    Jane x

  8. How beautiful you house looks Linda - the perfect centrepiece, the lovely tartan, and those red check stockings, stunning. Totally understand you about the joy of the grandchildren - we will be desolate when ours go home to Canada next week :( Footprints in the snow, one of my joys, as I so rarely see snow. Please order some snow for next Christmas as we are seriously wanting to come over there next year!

  10. It sends chills down you when grandkids want to do things with you. I remember the day the ones out west called me to come with my camera and take photos of the birds in the garden. Grandson here knows I love scarves and he picked a Pokemon one for me because I play Pokemon Go with him 😀 I love it. Happy New Year.
