Just Checking In With You All......🎄🎁🎄

Well...
Finally got a chance to catch up with you all...Got 9 cowls finished for gifts...Found a pattern that works up in an hour with chunky wool..
I know they all look different sizes....I did that on purpose...to suit each person who is receiving one!
There are 2 small ones on top...one for Miss V and one for the dear granddaughter of a friend...
Love the way they look...and they are so soft and squishy!!
Have you ever seen how expensive these and afghans are on ETSY!!! Crazy!

Boyfriend and I did something this week that I never thought that we would do...

WE BOUGHT AN ARTIFICIAL TREE!!!

It is up and decorated...no real pics yet...just the one with my Gnome in front...I feel bad...not sure why...the cleanup will be so much easier...just need to come to terms with it in my head...

Took this pic last week when we put the cottage to rest for another year...before we know it...we will be opening it again...right?

Got my toes painted yesterday...back to their usual PINK...and I love it! hahaha!

Spent today organizing my dining and living room with a bit of festive decor...
Filled a box for the thrift shop...less is more...right?

Making Pepper Steak for dinner...such a cosy meal...love it!

Still no snow here...and that is fine with me...I have some more running around to do the next few days, and it makes it so much easier. It is chilly though, and we had a burst of sunshine this afternoon, so I took advantage of it and photographed the cowls, then we went for a walk.

Hope you are all well...no colds or anything...

          Enjoy your evening...

                 Cheers!  :o)

  1. Love the header, Linda.
Gosh you have been very productive with your handywork.

I don't feel particularly Christmasy yet . . . although it is just round the corner. I may put the Christmas tree up (artificial one) with Peter tomorrow so I need to get it out of the loft. I have just bought a hobby band saw and I am loving it. I can make angled cits and shapes and it is great for my current project, making a five sided tree bench. Very complicated and a great challenge. . . . Have a lovely evening . . :)

  3. You have been busy . all looks lovely , It was nice to see the sun for a bit today windy and cold now out there this evening and possible snow tomorrow and Friday from that big system that's on its way from the states . We have had an artificial tree for years now as much as I love a real tree and the smell but easier to clean up after lol !. Papa here is still busy with his crocheting his afghan it will take a bit longer for him to finish it as he works during the week but he gets to it in the evenings and weekends when he can , yes they are pricey to buy. Thanks for sharing , Have a good week !

  4. You have been a busy little elf! Love the cowls! Will you share your pattern? I'm making two for hubby's secretaries at work.

I wish I could wrap my head around an artificial tree, but I just can't do it, yet. I had one a pre-lit one a few years ago. The lights starting going out, so it was out with that tree.

Are y'all supposed to get frigid cold weather this weekend? It's supposed to get into the 20's F. here.

    1. Laurie....easier if you do this....google " one hour crochet cowl" when I did that, it is the first link that pops up....a pic of a gal with the cowl on....so easy...and, really, even under an hour. Let me know if you can't find it, and I will go back, and get the link for you!
Gonna be cold..-2c...so about the same as you! No snow here....yippee!
Our tree has no lights...I had to put them on...that was a pain! But.....the clean up will be easier....right?

  5. Aw...your cowls are so cute; I just love them...warm and cozy. I'm sure your tree looks beautiful and I understand you having to come to terms with ending the real tree at Christmas. They are a lot of extra work to clean up, I give you that. We have a real one and it's only four feet tall. Looks a bit like Charlie Brown's tree and I'll still probably curse the needles in a few days. lol

    1. We talk about it every year...and this year we did it! I usually spend $45....so.....I guess it will be cheaper in the long run!
Love those wee trees...wish I could get one in a pot, and then plant at the cottage! We did that for a few years, but had them outside decorated.
Audrey will love the real tree....😂

  6. You and your neon pink toes! haha....is that so the boyfriend can find you in the dark? :) Ah, you're so cute.
I need to get my toes done...took the old polish off and they look so naked!

Nothing like a real tree....but we haven't had one in years. I do love the ease of an artificial one...especially not having to mess with the lights!

It's going to get COLD in a few days....really, really cold!

  7. Bye bye cottage, for the winter duration. I will miss it! You are having cosy times there Linda, making all those cute cowls (can't wait to see a picture of Miss V wearing hers), and your tree looks very good to me. I had a nice pink toe job done the other day too - for the wearing of the Summer sandals :)

  8. It is tempting to go with an artificial tree, but at this time, our two kids would probably stage a mutiny if we did that. I must say, you have the most recognizable feet in blogland!! Your outdoor decoration is beautiful and the new header photo is as well! -Jenn

  9. The first year we had artifial..we were young..I hated it for yrs..so we always had natural after..until the one you saw..putting up a real one wasn't fun or pleasant anymore..I got used to it as soon as it was up..I hope it starts to sit well for you:) Things are looking festive:) Even your toes..nice feet:)

  12. Wow, the cowls are so lovely and so soft looking. Nice that you're happy with your pedi. I keep mine in the winter also, very feminine. Nice photo of you in the mirror, you look happy and relaxed. Cute snowmen with their elegant hats and scarfs.

  14. don't feel bad! it will be beautiful. as ANY tree of yours always is.
and just think... you will have saved the life of a tree.
well. not really. they're cut down in the hundreds. so it would have gone that way anyway.
    but i'm proud of you.
there is nothing sadder to me than to see a beautiful live tree tossed out like garbage on the curb
after Christmas... just waiting to be hauled away. it seems to me such a waste of a green life that gives oxygen! (LOL! can you tell I live somewhere where trees are at a premium!??) sorry.
    love your toes! :) XO
