Veggie Update...

After re-potting my zuchinni at the cottage, they seemed to be coming along pretty well...

Even had 3-4 tiny fruit forming...

But....sad to say...this past week of extreme heat and neverending sunshine [I will hate myself for saying this in December!!!!],all but ONE zuchinni has fallen off and the plant was completely hanging over the edges of the pot....

Below is the one lowly fruit left...a bright yellow one...all the others are gone...  :o(

But how amazing what 2 days of watering and pruning can do!!!! A brand new Green one....YAHOOOO.... :o)

As I have noted before...the flowers are truly spectacular...

These were some of the poor little guys who fell off the vine....no water is truly devastating...

I added a small rock for him to rest on....as, sometimes if they are laying in the soil, they will rot..

New green guy looked ok on Sunday...fingers crossed   :o)

Now.....onto the peppers...small...funny shaped...not really sure what they will end up looking like!!!

Doesn't look like we will be having stuffed peppers any time soon!!!  :o)

This is what the yellow one looked like on Sunday afternoon...and there were lots of new flowers....so we will see what the week brings....hopefully some rain....PLEEEESE!!!

Funny how the color changes from different angles....Ain't she a beauty???  Perhaps I could have a zuchinni feast...and invite everyone??!!
This beauty greeted me back at home!!!!

Not exactly a pot of tomato sauce....but cute nonetheless!!
Hope you all had a good day.........A hot one coming tomorrow.....

44 degrees with the humidity....I know where I will be...

Floating around with a big noodle!!!!

                                                Right here..............

                                       Cheers!        :o)

From Start To Finish.....Awesome...

Finally the weekend arrived, that I got to enjoy the opening of not one....but two Daturas, at the lake.

They are also called Thornapple or Nightshade...but i just call them Daturas....and I love them...

The picture below is how the bud first looks....

Then it becomes a ripply one that grows out of this one....and then the big "TA DA" moment arrives..

I captured all of these last evening on the deck...after we returned from the local restaurant with my daughter and son-in-law for a lovely fish dinner....Lola came out for the day as well...but she stayed behind at the cottage, and had a nice nap on the sunporch....such a good girl!!

The whole process of opening up....took about 1 1/2 hours...we
stayed on the deck for the entire process...our neighbour
Gus joined us for a beer!!! or two...tee hee hee...

I got this shot this morning...we had a bit of rain from about Dawn onwards...after being awoken at 3am, by a huge crash...we both jumped out of bed...went into the hallway....looked around  [very attractive in the middle of the night!] an old painting had fallen and hit the croquet set!!!! What a lot of noise for that!!!!

Aren't they breathtaking with the water droplets on them???

Here they are taking  Lola for a short
walk....before heading home...

We certainly had a lovely visit...
and a delicious dinner..and best of all...nobody had  to cook or clean up....tee hee hee....just down
to the deck to watch the Datura....lovely...

Hope you all had a great weekend...
Raining a bit right now...

Enjoy the rest of your evening...

                                               Cheers!             :o)

Pink Musk Mallow....Marvellous....

This lovely plant was a transplant from a neighbour here at home....

This one is growing at the Lake...didn't plant any at home...

To me, it resembles a Hollyhock flower...or even a Rose of Sharon...self-sows, so spread evenly...they can get pretty tall, so I usually have to give them some
support...

Lovely and Pink...:o)

Enjoy...

So lovely...that I added it to my weekly vase for the sunporch......last weekends was Mallow, Hydrangeas, Day Lilies, and some Hosta flowerettes...I thought it was pretty darn nice...:o)

A few shots of the beach last weekend.......lovely and calm....
and warm.....and refreshing...ahhhhh

Hope you all have a good day....looks like the heat is making a comeback.........I guess we shouldn't complain....well...looks like I am the one complaining....I know.....I know.....I will stop...tee hee hee..:o)

                                           Cheers!      :o)

First Swim Of The Season....

You might think that with all of this hot, humid weather....that we would have been swimming in the Lake already.

And the temp of the water has been 5-10 degrees above normal...

It was usually too rough for me...I like it calm...and warm....

This past weekend did not disappoint...

The water was 75 degrees...practically unheard of, for this time of year...

I went in the next time...but I realaxed on the deck and took photos of the Mr's dip...he was sweaty from cutting the grass...but I did make it in...

Twice more that day...and about 3 other times during the weekend...

I would never subject any of you to pictures of me in my suit!!!!  But you can see one of them hanging on the line...with my cute little water shoes...just for the stones right near the beach...there is a huge sandbar just a bit out....

That looks very refreshing......

Our suits even kinda match...how cute is that....:o)

The Peddle Boat was moved into ready position...but it was just too darn hot...we would have melted out there....so again...I decided to put my tired feet up...and relax...  :o)
And spend some more time gazing at the beautiful white Cosmos in one of my baskets on the deck...........glorious.........:o)

Kind of another funny day weather-wise....cloudy...sunny...at least
we turned the air off for a day....feeling too cooped up with it on
all the time........hope you all enjoyed your day...

                          Cheers!        :o)
