Veggie Update...

After re-potting my zuchinni at the cottage, they seemed to be coming along pretty well...

Even had 3-4 tiny fruit forming...

But....sad to say...this past week of extreme heat and neverending sunshine [I will hate myself for saying this in December!!!!],all but ONE zuchinni has fallen off and the plant was completely hanging over the edges of the pot....

Below is the one lowly fruit left...a bright yellow one...all the others are gone...  :o(

But how amazing what 2 days of watering and pruning can do!!!! A brand new Green one....YAHOOOO.... :o)

As I have noted before...the flowers are truly spectacular...

These were some of the poor little guys who fell off the vine....no water is truly devastating...

I added a small rock for him to rest on....as, sometimes if they are laying in the soil, they will rot..

New green guy looked ok on Sunday...fingers crossed   :o)

Now.....onto the peppers...small...funny shaped...not really sure what they will end up looking like!!!

Doesn't look like we will be having stuffed peppers any time soon!!!  :o)

This is what the yellow one looked like on Sunday afternoon...and there were lots of new flowers....so we will see what the week brings....hopefully some rain....PLEEEESE!!!

Funny how the color changes from different angles....Ain't she a beauty???  Perhaps I could have a zuchinni feast...and invite everyone??!!
This beauty greeted me back at home!!!!

Not exactly a pot of tomato sauce....but cute nonetheless!!
Hope you all had a good day.........A hot one coming tomorrow.....

44 degrees with the humidity....I know where I will be...

Floating around with a big noodle!!!!

                                                Right here..............

                                       Cheers!        :o)

  2. Very pretty it all looks. It's exciting when you see vegetables coming up from the potted plants. I potted a yellow zuchini and so far, got one from it. Hope you keep getting more!

  3. Ha Ha Ha Ha WE ARE LUCKY TO EXPERIENCE NINE DEGREES TODAY!

I call these courgettes and I am growing them at the allotment.Sometimes we eat the flowers by dipping them in a crispy light batter then frying them for a few seconds, lovely with a dipping sauce at BBQ's.
Well Done Linda you certainly know how to garden, I wish you were around the corner from me!

  4. Hi Lisa...can't believe you are having 9 degrees!!! This heatwave is getting kinda scary, actually...hard on older people with no A/C...
I have never fried the flowers...never get them when they are just right and ready...I have heard they are delish!! I wish you were around the corner from me....instead of halfway around the world!!!
