Welcome December...WIth A Gift Of Roses 💕

I can hardly believe that it is December!!
When I look out the window, it looks like October...
Lovely green grass and flowers still blooming in the gardens...
And...
Speaking of Flowers...
I had been "complaining" to my flower lady {aka Erika}that I had not had any flowers for quite a while!!
She always used to bring me some, when she picked up Miss V on our regular Wednesday visits... well...yesterday she stopped by on her way home from work, and gave me 4 HUGE bunches of different Roses...
They are in the living room, my bedroom, powder room, kitchen and the family room...
The whole house smells GLORIOUS!!!
Thanks so much doll 💕

My daughter Lissa had gifted me this sweet Gnome a few years ago...he was quite taken by the beauty of these particularly gorgeous ones that I put in the living room...you have seen him many times before...he moves around the house from season to season...never complains...always looks dapper!! hahaha!

I did get to a bit of Christmas decorating this week...all the things with lights...except for the tree...my staircase is done...fireplace mantel...kitchen swag with lights...and a few well placed Snow People...next week I will go and pick up a tree...my son is doing the outdoor lights this Sunday...pray that all of the lights still work!
Nothing more annoying than that!
I also have white lights year round in the backyard, and I add some red for the Christmas season...it looks very festive!!

These smaller Spray Roses are in my powder room...I thought they looked so nice with some of my shells in there...Every year I bring more home from Florida, and every year, I find room for them...♥️

So...there you have it...the first day of December...and I am just Rosey!! 💓💓💓

I hope you are all well and enjoying your week....

Weather is to cool down over the next few days...
We are heading to the cottage tomorrow...Chinese food for lunch...a bit of thrifting...{I have a HUGE bag to donate} and then we will shut the cottage down for 2016...I will empty and clean the fridge, while boyfriend drains the lines and adds winter anti-freeze down the pipes...it certainly was a gorgeous hot Summer, that's for sure!! And...with my boyfriend retiring at the end of this year, there will be more time at the cottage in our future. Perhaps I will even get all of those things done, that I always say I am going to do!! 💕

I think I will work on a post, of just how beautiful our November was here,in Southern Ontario....especially our last sleepover at the cottage, when the temps hit 20c!!! The sunsets were gorgeous, and I want to share them with you all...

Okay...enough blabbering from me...

Enjoy the Roses...Ahhhhh...take a sniff!

        Have a great evening...

                  Cheers!  :o)

  1. Glorious roses! How sweet your flower lady is. I wish there was smell-a-vision so I could breathe in their loveliness. I retired last December 31st and am so enjoying having time for myself. I hope your boyfriend does too.

  5. Beautiful roses, Linda, and the close-ups are stunning. Layer upon layer of softness and colour.
I was given a sweet little bouquet recently that was a white/yellow arrangement with two perfect yellow roses. It was so cheery. Which I need!

  6. You're a lucky gal! Beautiful roses. I've often thought that floral arranging would be a great occupation. Except the thorns---don't like the thorns. I'm trying to save a little money with the gift giving in the near future and I really do miss the cheeriness of fresh flowers. Hopefully I'll really 'see' them when I can indulge later.

Not much decorating here yet. I need to declutter. I am suffocating lately with so much everywhere. And my storage room is a mess.

It must be a little melancholy to close up your cottage. I am amazed how much I'm enjoying the cold at our place. Just going out with the dogs for 15 minutes at a time invigorates me. Last weekend was in the 30's and we had the fireplace and wood burning stove going like crazy. The heat never went on. The not so good thing is that the heat rises and the upstairs can be stifling while the main floor, which is huge windows and a 19 foot vaulted ceiling can feel frigid. We are going to miss a few weekends now with the holidays but we have plenty to keep us busy the rest of the winter. Looking for some antique furniture for the master, nothing fancy or high priced, just some pretty pine tables or dressers and an old mirror. I don't need drawers so much, just a place to put my makeup, perfume and little essentials.

    I'll be posting more...finally!

    Love to you,

    Jane

    1. Our cottage is the opposite Jane! With the furnace vents on the main floor only, and no insulation , as we have an open ceiling upstairs, we freeze when we go up there!
If it weren't for our precious electric blanket, not sure how we would make it thru the nights! hahaha!!!
I am sure your bedroom will come together beautifully...
      Enjoy your weekend!!

  7. Oh, such gorgeous roses! Such a treat! So sad to close up the cottage for the season, but it does give you something to look forward to every spring. I've been knee deep in decorating the last few days....what a mess! It's a process, but I do enjoy it. Better than housework anyway.....Enjoy your final getaway. Sending hugs xo Karen

  10. Lucky girl..there is a poem about roses in December..
    Roses in December

    God gave us memory
    that we may have roses
    in December and snowflakes
    in July.
    That we may find laughter
    amid the tears and
    sunshine even on
    the darkest of days.

    God gave us memory
    that we may see the
    face of those we love
    even when they can't
    be near. And to recall
    what we can no longer
    talk about together.

    God gave us memory that
    we may never forget.

You are way ahead of me in decor:(
I want it all done now.
