When we left for our cottage visit, this past Monday morning...the Sun was out in all its glory! A very welcome sight, after weeks without sun.
My Miscanthus at home, was looking beautiful in the morning sunshine.
I do love this perennial grass...looks beautiful all Winter long.
Most of the drive was sunny...but as we got closer and closer to our destination, a thick cloud moved in...
The beach at the cottage this week, had a very different look...
The piles of ice were gone, and just a few icy patches along the water line...
Very calm...no wind...lovely and quiet...calm...serene.
The week before...I had found this piece of white beach glass, and quite a few pieces of beach pottery...
This visit, I found a white piece of beach pottery...almost like part of a neck of a vase or a pot...I always enjoy hunting on the beach for different things...
I put the beach pottery in the gardens around the beach deck...adds a nice dimension to things...
As we were leaving...I found the sun once again...
As I write this...Miss V has just gone to bed ♥️
We had picked her up from school today, as tomorrow is a PD day, and we are going to take her for a drive to the cottage, and out for lunch...
We baked cupcakes...had a bath...then she whipped her Papa's butt at "Old Maid"...such fun!!
Hope you are all well....
Colder weather moving in, but we are still relatively snow free here...
Have a wonderful evening...and a great weekend....
Cheers! :o)
linda ♥️
What great pictures you have here! I can feel those icy rocks beneath my feet....we have them, too, this time of year. Looks like you had a good day of it-from sun to shadow to sun again.
ReplyDeleteOur little SweetCheeks beat us at every game we played last Saturday. lol xo Diana
I love the beach, anytime of year..
DeleteAren't these grands just so smart?
Lovely, icy photos! Brr! We don't have any ice or snow on the ground, but we've had flakes fall the last few days. Sunshine today for us all day long! Incredible! That hasn't happened in a long time!
ReplyDeleteI love your sea glass! Such a fun thing to collect. I have a tiny jar of it...love it!
I have tons at the cottage, Betsy! Wish I could do something with it all...any ideas?
DeleteSometimes I wish we lived along Lake Michigan. When we visit i love to collect shells and stones as you do. And your view and elements are breathtaking.
ReplyDeleteWe had no snow last weekend when we had our sledding adventure. Then it came down like a Sunday night, a blizzard as we crept along all the way home. That's a little nail biting!! :-D
Jane
You could live at your Lake House Jane. Ours is strictly a 3 season cottage...winters are very harsh along the Great Lakes.
DeleteI do enjoy the views...anytime of year.
Enjoy your weekend.
Wonderful photos today, Linda. You always share such pretty views. Love finding beach glass. I haven't been to the shore in quite a long time - over a year. When it has been too long, I start to feel deprived. Your visit with Miss V sounds wonderful. Old Maid sounds like fun and I am always up for a cupcake! Hope that sunshine comes out for you again this weekend. xx K
ReplyDeleteYour views are spectacular Karen!
DeletePerhaps you will get to the beach this year...and find some glass!
Happy weekend!
Your beach is always an interesting place Linda, and I love those pieces of glass you find. Great pictures as always, and your leopard gloves are very chic!
ReplyDeleteThanks Patricia...I hope to find lots this Spring...I love my gloves...had them for years!
DeleteOh, what a fun time you have in store! Beautiful, peaceful snippets from your world... I surely enjoy them. Look forward to hearing more about your fun adventures with little Miss V. :) blessings and hugs ~ tanna
ReplyDeleteYup...up early this am...she is watching a few of her shows...we will get moving later on! Hahaha!
DeleteHave a great weekend...
I should wander down to the beach more often.

You should! We were there today...crazy cold!
DeleteYou have a great eye nana:)
ReplyDeleteThanks Nana! 💕
DeleteOkay. Am I the only one to notice that the cloud picture is a perfect maple leaf? Oh, Canada! 🇨🇦
ReplyDeleteBarbara...you are brilliant! As soon as I looked, I saw it! Good eye! O Canada 🇨🇦
DeleteAlways interesting around the lake and cottage . . . . have a good trip . ..:)
ReplyDeleteHi Eddie...
DeleteWe did! Very cold.....
Sounds like you had a fun day cottaging and out to lunch with little Miss V. Enjoy the weekend, we'll be meeting my BF's son and family for breakfast in Guelph, a regular thing that we do. And Sunday's the Super Bowl, well, at least the half-time show is sometimes interesting. :)
ReplyDeleteHA!! I am not a football fan Hester...I am having the family over for the day...looking forward to it!
DeleteEnjoy your brunch!
Thanks, Linda. Happy for you that you'll have the family over before your Florida stay, P.S. I'm not a football fan either. 😬

DeleteBrrrrrrrr!
ReplyDeleteYessssss.....
DeleteLove the cloud shot ... did you add the maple leaf into the sky?! Looks amazing! Sounds like that Miss V has the best time at her grandparents' house. I still have my childhood Old Maid cards, but I think there are a few missing.
ReplyDeleteGreat shots of the ice holding onto those rocks.
Wendy
Hahaha! Cool how Barbara noticed that,eh??
DeleteShe is a pleasure to have around Wendy...enjoy it while we can!
I picked up this one at a thrift shop...I am sure there are a fw missing too!
The beach changes every single day!!
Interesting, stunning, beautiful photographs . . .
ReplyDeleteI would enjoy walking the beach with you . . .
Interesting pottery finds, don't they weather beautifully.
I like the idea if placing found pieces in your gardens . . .
Miss V is growing up knowing some of life's true treasures!
HI Lynne...
DeleteThanks so much!
I am happy to share my passions with Miss V...she is a treasure to behold!!
How lucky you are, to have a cottage, on a beach!!!!!

Love all the pics but that second shot is stunning. So expansive. And that jolt of red is perfect.
