Another very interesting weekend at the cottage...
Friday was bitterly cold, with the wind off the Lake...
It finally turned to a North wind, and we were able to enjoy a bit of late day sunshine...
My bouquets this weekend, were built with a few Mauve Lilacs in bloom...several Tulips, and some false Solomons Seal...
They came together nicely for yet another weekend arrangement!!
Even captured a Lady Bug...did you see her??
We enjoyed a lovely fire after dinner...and boy oh boy, is that furnace getting a workout this Spring!!
SOOOO glad we put that in last Fall!
I made a small arrangement for the kitchen shelf...
A few Lily of the Valley...
Perfect for that spot!
Saturday started out rather frosty...as the day progressed, it warmed up to about 14*c...still rather chilly for this time of year...we got a lot of yard work accomplished...and even had a nice visit from my daughter Lissa and SIL Jeff! we huddled together in the sunshine to keep warm!! hahaha!
Sunday was still breezy, but a lot warmer...
We stayed 'til 4:30, and the car said it was 21*c...much better!! As we approached Burlington it was 30*c!!!
Strange how the weather changes, when you go around one of The Great Lakes!!
All in all..a very nice weekend...
And we had the sweetest little visitor!!
A cute Tea Cup Bunny was munching in the drive way all weekend!! Hope he is still there next weekend!!
Hope you all had a great weekend!
Happy Memorial Day to my American friends...
I have been a bad blogger...need to visit you all!!
Weekends at the cottage sure interfere with commenting!!
Forgive me??
Hahaha!
Enjoy your evening...And your fireworks!!
Cheers! :o)
linda
Yes, of course we forgive you! As if there was anything to forgive! Beautiful flowers, that is a tiny tiny ladybug isn't it! The weather here has been very strange, not really that warm at all over the long weekend. We really need to get some heat around here!! Hope you get some too!! xx
ReplyDeleteHi Amy.....
DeleteWe are now back to the humidity! 5 cold days....5 humid days.....geesh!
Have a great week....
I wonder if the cottontail has babies?
ReplyDeleteJane x
No idea...he/she was alone.....sooooo cute!
DeleteHow cute.. here they can be a bit hungry and munch on pretties..but I will take them any day over squirrels;)
ReplyDeleteSaw your little Ladybug..
I used to love them to bits.. ever since the invasion..I like them less.
Your bouquets are lovely:) Isn't it nice to look at a bouquet..look beyond the window and see GREEN!
Yes...usually at home they nibble on my flowers...but this cutie was eating dandelions! Bonus! Hahaha!
DeleteWe had some one year that were biters! Eek! Did not like that....at all!
Yes Monique....it really is! I am happy.....:o)
Imagine letting real life interfere with blogging. Oops, wait a minute I did that for a couple of weeks too. The bouquets look lovely, would they be related to Mrs Bucket? pronounced bouquet.
ReplyDeleteHahaha!
DeleteI love my bouquets!
I could not find Lady Bug. Enjoy your weekend.
ReplyDeletePS: Do you like pineapple?
First photo....on the Tulip!
DeleteUh.....er.....why yes I do Ivy! Thanks for asking!
It sure was cold on Friday, Linda! I was freezing, in a cashmere sweater and a heavy wool coat, plus scarf! Love your flowers, and I will miss the lilac and the lily of the valley when I go home; they are such romantic and fragrant blooms. The little bunny is absolutely adorable :)
ReplyDeleteIt sure was Patricia!
DeleteI guess your trip here is winding down....
I must hop over to your blog....now!
I wouldn't consider you to be a bad blogger, especially since your photos make your blog readers smile! And after many tries, I can't find the lady bug either...hmmm. Have a nice rest of the week, LSK. :)
ReplyDeleteThat's because you love me Hester!
DeleteLady bug on photo #1....very tiny!
Of course I do, LSK. LOL Oh good, thanks for the clue, I found the little teensy lady bug...
DeleteLovely photos and blooms Linda ! Yes our weather has been so up and down here as we are only a 6 min drive from lake Erie our selves and get a lot of it's weather here coming from it ! ! The rest of this week looks like it should be for this time of year ! Thanks for sharing , Have a good day !
ReplyDeleteWe will return on Thursday!
DeleteBut can only stay til Saturday....Sunday flight!
A good weekend at your cottage is an excused absence from blogging! Love the vases of flowers and a visit from the children is always wonderful!
ReplyDeleteYep...weather changes here and there and willy nilly all the time here, too! Spring, right?
Jane x
Yes...willy nilly is a perfect description!
DeleteNow we are humid!
Hubby home yet?
Enjoy your week...

Hope you had a great weekend...
No word verification at the moment . . . I have not been accused of being a robot for ages . . . lol

I would have missed the ladybug if you hadn't pointed it out. Cute bunny!
ReplyDeleteIsn't he sweet♥️
DeleteI didn't visit any blogs this weekend either! Just took a little break!
ReplyDeleteLOVE the bunny...how adorable. His color is amazing.
And I see your milk glass holding your pepper grinder! :)
Breaks are good! No internet at the cottage anyway!!
DeleteYes...same one as yours! It is very handy to hold the grinder..and keeps the loose pepper in there!
Enjoy your short week, Betsy!!
I am also behind on blog visiting...the little rug rats (kittens) keep me too busy! Loved seeing your spring flowers since ours are done for the season. And the little bunny is just adorable! Have a nice week!
ReplyDeleteThose kittens are so cute!!
DeleteOurs are having an extended run...we get real hot...and then real cold...crazy!!!
Enjoy your week Cheryl!
Sweet bunny and I especially like the second shot with the dappled light on the porch.
ReplyDeleteThat is my favorite time of the day on the kitchen porch...very late afternoon...gorgeous and sunny then!
