The Lake was completely frozen over...
Tons of snow....
So beautiful and peaceful...
Lake is wide open...only a wee bit of ice left on the rocks...
A far cry from the year before...
Boyfriend found this "Ice Face" on the beach...
Pretty cool,eh??
It was bright and sunny...
We were tempted to get our chairs out, and sit in the sun!!
As promised...
More glorious flowers...
This beauty is a Zucchini blossom...
Quite the delicacy in some parts of the world...
I am a sucker for the beauty of the blossom....
A few of my baskets I planted for my deck and surrounding areas...
And...a most special Tulip that comes up every year at the cottage...only 1...but isn't she a beauty??
Such colour.... ♥️
Hope you are all having a great day...
Had sunshine all day...but chilly...clouding over now, and a big rain storm is expected into the night...
Be safe and warm...wherever you are...
Welcome to my new followers...so glad to have you here...
Cheers! :o)
linda♥️
Wow! The snow is beautiful. And it does make everything look so serene. That tulip is unusual, but beautiful. How cold was it there? Fog is rolling in at the beach right now, but it's still 60'ish. Tomorrow...storms. Have a great evening, Linda.
ReplyDeleteYes...and quiet, when the lake is frozen!
DeleteLast year? Or last Friday?
We are waiting for a rain storm here....
We are really having a different winter this year. We are due for rain and freezing rain tonight. We won't have any snow left soon. Your pictures are so beautiful. Love the tulip; second favorite to the daisy. Love your boots, Linda. xo
ReplyDeleteI have been looking for new boots! No luck!
DeleteThat's quite a difference in snow cover, isn't it!
ReplyDeleteIt is! Wonder what this February will bring?
DeleteHi Linda - Love that view of your cottage behind the snowy tree, and the little blue birdhouse covered in snow! Gorgeous beach scenes, too. The flowers have me wishing for spring....but I found my first daffodil bud today! We are having a crazy, mild winter this year. Watch, as soon as the daffy's bloom, we will get a blizzard! :) xx Karen
ReplyDeleteThanks Karen....guess this was your first trip to our beloved cottage! Welcome!
DeleteTake care of that bud! Hahaha!
Enjoy your evening!
Not as cold maybe but still cold . . . brrr
ReplyDeleteLake frozen over last year . . . I wonder if anyone is brave enough or foolhardy enough to walk across it. Juist thinking of the consequences . .
Lovely photos as ever . . . :)
Hi Eddie....
DeleteYou British are such weather wimps! You would think with all the rain and damp you get over there, that you would be tougher!
When the sun is shining.....the temp doesn't matter!
You can ice skate...and ice fish...and skidoo!
haha . . . well I suppose if I was there I would wrap up well . . .
DeleteAgree about when the sun is shining life is good . . .
My dad once skated the full length of Lake Windermere in The Lake District . . . during a VERY cold spell . .
Awesome! You ice skate?
DeleteYes . . . not very professionally but I can (or could) go backwards and cross my legs going round corners and doing quick side stops.
DeleteInterestingly when I was in my first job an older colleague was called Fred Cousins who said his son had started ice skating and was showing a lot of promise. That boy was to be non other than the great World Champion Robin Cousins . . . :)
Do you skate?
I did...I can...I might again!
DeleteThat sounds like a movie title . . . lol
DeleteI had a feeling you might be a skater . . :)
Lovely photos ! What a big difference between our winter last year and this year eh? I have enjoyed the this winter more then most we have had due to the warmer temps and less snow . Yup big rain storm on it's way to you soon it is raining a bit here now and the winds are high as well a bit nippy out as well this evening . Thanks for sharing , have a good evening !
ReplyDeleteFor sure Elaine! Wonder what February will bring?
DeleteLove the snowy ones!
ReplyDeleteIt's raining here...pouring!
Is the old man snoring?
DeleteYour photos are lovely.
ReplyDeleteRick
Hi Rick....
DeleteThanks for stopping by!
What a difference a year makes!
ReplyDeleteHi Furry....for sure! You have beautiful snow!
DeleteIt's so beautiful at the lake whatever the weather! Awesome photos. I love seeing the flowers, can't wait for flower weather. :) Have a nice week!
ReplyDeleteOh....me too Cheryl! Won't be too long now!
DeleteLinda...those first few pictures of your cottage and the lake from last winter should be printed and made for holiday cards. They are extraordinary. If we have snow before Christmas and I get shots, I will do it. I never realized how gorgeous these scenes are to others (like me!).
ReplyDeleteLove your blooms. Enjoy each day. :)
Jane
I have used the first one for a Christmas card! Actually...most of my cards I make are pics from the cottage!
DeleteI do hope you are back in business out there......SOON!
Have a great day!
Quite a difference hey! xx
ReplyDeleteSnow makes a wonderful subject for photos. Your cottage looks so snug under the heaps of sugar :) Don't you miss it just a little? At least you have less worries in winter for your cottage, like clearing off the roof! Pretty flowers, and you'll see that tulip very soon now.
ReplyDeleteWendy
Wendy.....I miss it a LOT! That is why we drive out every Friday....to check on her!
DeleteQuite a difference in a year. I've been looking back at last year's photos too. It's pouring of rain this morning, was ice to the north of us which caused all those school buses to be cancelled. Cute header photo.
ReplyDeleteNothing much happening here...just soggy...guess the storm missed us!
DeleteMiss V here early....busy! Hahaha! Watching Paw Patrol! Hahaha!
Such a difference from then to now. Love that special tulip!
ReplyDeleteMe too! Hope she shows up again this Spring!
DeleteWhich do you prefer? The snow or the reprieve?
ReplyDeleteI'm sitting here with a lap blankie. So nice to see warmer temps this year for you :)
ReplyDeleteHope you feel better ASAP...gonna be cold again tomorrow :o(
Deletedon't look for new boots. I love THOSE boots! LOLOL! ♥
ReplyDeletehave you ever had such a wonderful winter??? i mean ... so different from last year's?

We have had El Niño winter about 12 years ago...very pleasant!
DeleteI like those boots too....I wanted some higher ones!
