The Pool Is Officially Closed.....
Several years ago, we opted for the "trampoline" style pool cover...so much easier and so much nicer to look at, than the old HUGE cover, water bags and water on top of the cover....we used to get Mallard Ducks nesting in the shrubs, and swimming around the pool...on top of the cover...and "pooping" everywhere...
My son [forefront] and my son-in-law came after work to help install the winter cover...I stayed INSIDE...to keep out of "their way"...if you know what I mean..HAHAHAHA.....
The cover is fitted precisely...and the long toggles fit over screws permanently installed surrounding the pool....the trick is stretching the cover just right...and then tightening down the toggles...they were finished in record time...
Good Job Boys!!!!
This is what it looks like, when they got it all done...Not too bad to look at...Any pool owners out there, will know what I mean about the big ugly ones...with the water bags...YUCK!!! |
This is now the view from the kitchen....used my new camera...
I will miss the lovely aqua blue water...
But...it had to be done...
Guess I'll have to do a garden clean-up...
Perhaps next week.....:o)
Supposed to be above seasonal temps...
My cold is better...now I have a creepy cough :o(
Saw Buddy the other night...he is home...looks pretty darn good
Glad he is on the mend...
Cheers! :o)

Something New....And....Some Old Things...
What a traumatic day I had yesterday...
It may seem silly to some...but when the lens on my beloved camera would not close...and was making strange noises...I went into panic mode...
Very dramatic....I know...but I really love my camera, and I felt very naked without it....
I first called my talented techy son, and followed his advice...but to no avail...
I then went on-line, and discovered that I was not alone, with this particular circumstance....again...I followed all the tricks to see if I could get it to work...
But...once again...no solution :o(
The top picture is the way my "old" camera looks today...stuck with an open lens...for all the world to see...embarassed...exhausted...needs to go into early retirement...It has been a hard worker for me...and my son before that...
Let's here one last hurrah for my Canon Power Shot.SD 870 IS....YEAH!!!!
But look who I have now...
Isn't she a beauty...another hand-me-down from my son...What a guy!!!
He swears by his I-Phone, and he also has a glamorous 35mm...
SO.....he helped his old Mom out...gave me a few tips...and off I go!!!
Next...this hand painted creamer....lovely flowers...delicate...Gosh...I love creamers...Made In England...I am sure it is worth far more than the 50 cents I paid for it....
The gold edging only adds to the beauty...
And the tiny flowers encircle the handle..
Along with the scallopped edging...
I believe the tiny blue flowers and the yellow ruffly tulips are my favorite on this piece...
Will certainly include her in my next tea party :o)
The smaller one, was included when I bought the larger one!!!!!! And it is Royal Doulton.....How fabulous!!!! The vintage tablecloth below and left....also 50 cents...always happy when I find these...so cheery!!!
So....what do you think of these thrifty buys???? Pretty cool, eh?
So glad that I got me a "new" camera...
Can't wait to try it out....well, other than the shot I took of my "old" girl and the new one...but...you know what I mean!!!!
Hope you all have a great day...kinda cloudy here...
Have to get going...get off this computer...and do
some grocery shopping....
I am also feeling kinda poorly...cold coming on...hopefully I won't give it to sweet Vivian and her Mom...if I see them today, that is...:o)
Cheers! :o)

Grabbed 2 more vintage paint-by-numbers....$5 for the pair...they are soooo East Coast...love them...and the frames are OAK....very heavy... |

Weekend Colours At The Cottage.....
The weekend...altho wet, cloudy and windy...did provide a few things still abloom in the cottage garden...
My Miscanthus are putting out their plumes....a beautiful sight, indeed..
A few of the smaller trees are changing to their Fall colours...
But the huge Maples are still green...they don't usually get to change their colours...they just all fall at once....and we rake for months!!!!
The pink Obedient plants are still gloriously Pink...and my Fall Mums are starting to open up...perhaps a few shots of them this weekend...
A few wild Asters...loaded with Bees...
Any my Zuchinni plant is still producing fabulous flowers....along with a few cute plump tomatoes.......
The sun did come out for a while late Friday...and mid-day Saturday... |
Oh........and the sweet peas....a few last blooms... :o)
Still plenty of clouds, as we left on Saturday afternoon....
Hope you are all enjoying this lovely sunny day...
I was busy snapping a few photos in the back yard....when my camera froze!!!! I am having a breakdown....
I need my camera!!!!!!
Will have my son take a look at it...as he is dropping by this evening....
If he can't fix it.........I will have to go and buy a new one....ASAP...
Sorry for the outburst.....but I do love my camera....
Wish me luck.......
Cheers! :o)
