Several years ago, we opted for the "trampoline" style pool cover...so much easier and so much nicer to look at, than the old HUGE cover, water bags and water on top of the cover....we used to get Mallard Ducks nesting in the shrubs, and swimming around the pool...on top of the cover...and "pooping" everywhere...
My son [forefront] and my son-in-law came after work to help install the winter cover...I stayed INSIDE...to keep out of "their way"...if you know what I mean..HAHAHAHA.....
The cover is fitted precisely...and the long toggles fit over screws permanently installed surrounding the pool....the trick is stretching the cover just right...and then tightening down the toggles...they were finished in record time...
Good Job Boys!!!!
This is what it looks like, when they got it all done...Not too bad to look at...Any pool owners out there, will know what I mean about the big ugly ones...with the water bags...YUCK!!! |
This is now the view from the kitchen....used my new camera...
I will miss the lovely aqua blue water...
But...it had to be done...
Guess I'll have to do a garden clean-up...
Perhaps next week.....:o)
Supposed to be above seasonal temps...
My cold is better...now I have a creepy cough :o(
Saw Buddy the other night...he is home...looks pretty darn good
Glad he is on the mend...
Cheers! :o)

The end of a beautiful summer season. That is a nice pool and the cover is really neat. It looks like you could almost walk on it. It's supposed to go down to zero here tonight so I moved my annuals where they might get some shelter. I'm trying to hang on to them for Thanksgiving weekend then I'll toss them and clean up the gardens. Such a job!
ReplyDeleteIt was a lovely summer...and why do they always seem so short...when they are over! Too bad about the zero temps...we are in for a warm-up here...clsoing the garden IS a big job...but also rewarding..
DeleteIt seems as though I was just preparing for all the fun of summer and now September is almost gone already. Well, if time goes even half as fast this winter, we'll be pulling weeds out of the garden again in no time!
ReplyDeleteI do like that pool cover. It's not ugly like those other ones. Neat and tidy.
Hopefully the winter will pass quickly...the cover is neat, eh??
DeleteIt does look nice and tidy! Good job men! I would have stayed out of their way, too! lol....
ReplyDeleteYes...I learned my lesson...if anything goes wrong, they all look at me!! hahaha
DeleteI think it is always a sad time when the pool cover goes on. Glorious summer is really over and the dying begins. Listen to me! So morbid, haha.
ReplyDeletereally Devon...take a deep breath!!!haha
Deleteespecially since you came that time with your water wings and I spoiled your excitement!! But we did have a lovely swim at the Lake...
Bye bye pool. My cold tuned into a cough as well. Get better soon!

Hey Sandy...your cute little face is back!!!
DeleteI am wayyyy better today..
Just in time for the cottage!!
We had one of those old type pool covers with water jugs when we had our pool. What a pain as it collected all sorts of debris over the winter. This new type looks much better.
ReplyDeleteI miss the pool at my other house. But I don't miss the winter cover!!! Those ugly bags!!! The water gathering on the top full of rotting leaves. This trampoline cover is a much better solution.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, my neighbour has the old ugly pool cover and the ducks floated around it all spring - loved seeing them but glad they were over there instead of in my yard - till they laid eggs under my Japanese maple.
Great pictures! Lissa :)
