The wind was calm....
I had already been to FItness....
Bought some Pickerel for dinner...
Put some birdseed out...
As I looked around...
I realized there was still a lot of color in my small garden at home...
SO.....
I decided to share it with you...:o)
I also got my geraniums and spikes
ready to bring in....
The Gooseneck-Loosestrife is still a beautiful golden red colour...

| Miscanthus still green...just a wee bit of yellow creeping up the stalks...this will look fabulous all winter long...one of my favoritest plants... |

| Pee-Gee Hydrangea just losing its soft rosy color.. |

| This little beauty is the Mona Lavender Plant...I brought it home from the cottage a few weeks ago...still blooming...the leaves have a deep purple underside...She is coming inside shortly...perhaps I can keep her alive until next summer... |

I have 2 banana-blueberry loaves in the oven...
'cause we gobbled up that Blueberry Buttermilk cake...
We did have a lot of help tho...

Hi Linda. It was a pretty nice day here after heavy rains yesterday but I was too busy cleaning and packing for my trip to New York to do anything outdoors. Oh, I did set out my old granite ware tubs filled with greenery for the winter. My gardens long done for the winter just waiting for the snow to cover them up. You have some lovely plants that are still giving you some joy!

DeleteI like all phases of a garden. You have beautiful dried hydrangeas for instance. I remember how enlightened I was the first time I read about year round gardening. In my fourth life I'm going to take it up! (Or my gardener will!)

I need to put some birdseed out SOON. The birds are coming to the place it was last year and they are pissed that the feeder has not been put up yet. I will do it in the next few days because the birds help me get through the winter.

DeleteNothing really blooming in the garden. I did take some photos of the miscanthus and have a post in the works. I haven't done a garden post for awhile and need to get back to them. We have had a few heavy frosts, the trees are bare, and some plants are covered in a blanket of leaves to keep them warm over the winter. We did go and cut some feathers, as I call them, from the roadside grasses. There are lots of those in bloom still. I also cut a lot of red dogwood branches for some displays.I added them to my winter greenery pots. That has been the extent of my gardening.

ReplyDeleteI have some little autumn crocuses too. I thought they were just confused until my daughter told me they were supposed to bloom in the fall and I found out I was confused instead.
I have seen those fall crocus...they are beautiful!!!
