Still Autumn At The Lake....
This past weekend was quite nice at the Cottage...
Still some color....
This Silver Birch tree was a transplant from home...and it really looks great this Fall..
The evergreens are putting out new growth...
Miscanthus fluttering in the breeze...
Silver dollars just about done...
Wood all split for the fireplace...we used ALL that wood in one night!!!
The sun reflecting off the Lake...
And the sunset.........ohhhhhhh the sunset...you'll have to wait for those!!
Hope you are all having a great day...
The sun is peeking out occasionally...
Still warm....10 degrees...celsius...
Cheers! :o)

How pretty everything is ! Autumn is my favourite time of year , even here it can be very pretty.. but I do look forward to spending an Autumn in New England :) Happy Monday ~
ReplyDeleteSooooo..that is where you are moving to...New England...VERY nice!!
DeleteLovely photos Linda, I love the papery seed pods of Honesty although we did have so many popping up this year. Your views of the water are sublime.
ReplyDeleteHey Paul...We call that The Money Plant, or Lunaria...bi/ennial...lovely purple flowers in the spring...
DeleteLove that second last photo, very intriguing. It has been a glorious day and we have just got home after a lovely drive on the country roads and a walk by the bay where we saw huge amounts of Canada Geese and the swans. Lots of photos to go through. Lots of posts going around in my mind.
ReplyDeleteyes....that is the old concrete on the beach...where the old foundations used to be...I found that hilarious that it looks like the stone is holding everything up!!!
DeleteLook forward to your photos...
Looks like you have some great weather this weekend! We did, too...beautiful blue sky and sun! There's still a little color about...I'm trying to notice and enjoy it!
ReplyDeleteYes...not as sunny as I would have liked...but pretty darn decent..
DeleteI like the photo with the stone and concrete too. I wonder what used to be there? Cottages? Docks? Is it usually under water?
ReplyDeleteI pulled out way too many Money Plants in the spring. They were getting out of control, but I do like their silvery pods.
Yes Martha...When we first bought the cottage, the water was a lot deeper...we used to sit up on that huge piece of concrete...now it is exposed, and crumbling...apparently the cottages used to be right down on the beach...our cottage was built in the early '30's, by an American family...when Hurricane Hazel went thru in '57, a lot of people moved their cottages back...ours as well...and they built a basement then...You can see the large chunk of concrete in many of my photos...when I saw that pebble there last Friday...I laughed...as it really looks like it is holding it up!!! we are going to check next visit, and see if the rock is gone...
DeleteSorry about the loooooong answer...:o)
Long answers are okay. I guess your concrete foundation explains the concrete along the shore in other places. We stop on occasion at a few small beaches between Crystal Beach and Fort Erie, like Windmill Point. Sometimes the concrete appears to be an entire patio and other times they are just huge chunks.
DeleteLove the pics of the sun on the water. Brings to mind the beautiful and HOT summer we had!
ReplyDeleteGosh....doesn't it seem sooooo long ago...sigh..
Deletethere you go. capturing that magical light on the water again. xo
ReplyDeleteYup....just for you Tammy...
