Cool Down.....Enjoy!!

Time for a little cool down....

How about this...

A...

Big...

Juicy....

Luscious....

Delectable...

Chunk of...

Fresh...

Sweet...

Watermelon...

Go ahead...

Pick any piece that you would like...

There is plenty for everyone...

AHHHHHHH....Isn't that delicious?

Do you feel a bit cooler, now???

Perhaps for a while...but it is still 45*C degrees outside...and sunny....

Why am I complaining????

Well....I guess I shouldn't...We beg for this all Winter...

But...

How about 27* C....instead of 45* C...sooooo much nicer!!

This also gave me a chance to show you all one of my thrifty buys a few weeks back....This bowl...with a lovely iridescent shine to it...and beautiful dainty pink roses...cost me a whopping 50 cents!!! This is the first time I used it....and it served its purpose perfectly.... How do you like it? I looked it up on the internet...I think it may fall into the Lusterware category of Silesia porcelain...couldn't find the EXACT bowl...but similar ones are going for anywhere from $15-$300....anyway....I love it!!

Next way to cool down, is with a delicious fresh salad...This one is with grape tomatoes...radishes...cucumbers...red onion...kalamari olives...fresh basil...goats cheese...dash of olive oil...and finally a lovely ripe avacado....NOW....doesn't that look refreshing?

I picked up these HUGE green onions today...Aren't they spectacular????

We put those on the grill...

Along with a skewer of marinated pork...

And a few Barese Chicken sausage...

Hope you all had a great day...and are staying cool!!

Seems like this heatwave will NEVER end...

It is not so much the HEAT...It is the darn HUMIDITY....

It really knocks you out...I feel bad for people with no air-conditioning...

Sorry Pamela....didn't mean to rub it in...:o)

On the menu tonight...

       Grilled Pork Kebob...Rice...Mixed veggies...Tomato/Radish Salad...Sausage..

Enjoy the rest of your evening...

Just off for a short walk....and then a lovely swim!!!

                         Cheers!  :o)

  1. Is there anything better than sun warmed tomatoes sliced, buttered corn on the cob followed by the sweetest of watermelons? A fond childhood memory for me ... newspapers spread on the picnic table and all the family there! Heaven!! Linda

  5. Very refreshing ... We spent yesterday morning paddling in the lovely cool water at the Frankford park, had nice lunch at home and decided to stay in the cool for the afternoon playing video games, playing babies (putting dollies to bed & waking up) then a nice quick dinner then off to soccer game ... Lots of water consumed and poured over little boys heads .. Then home for a good sleep.

  6. Haha. I think the humidity finally left us for now although it's going to be 28 today. I'm off to town for a massage in cool building and then to the stores which have AC. :) Your post is lovely and the watermelon and salad look so refreshing. I love the bowl. It is gorgeous and I think you got a great deal on it! Enjoy the day. Hugs. Pam
