Man oh man...was it hot!!
At least the breeze from the Lake kept us comfortable...
And we found shady spots to sit...
On Saturday the kids came out!!
Minus my daughter Lissa and husband Jeff...:o(
They were getting a new Puppy...Freckles...a Cockapoo, that day...
So...they did not come out...
It turned into a gorgeous day...hot...but the Lake was very inviting...
Miss V had not been in the Lake yet..as it was always rough...
But this day...proved to be the best day...even a small patch of sand!!
There were lots of stones near the shore...so Papa helped her out...
She wanted him to carry her...so he obliged!
Her Mommy got her suit on...
And I also joined in...
She loved laying on the surfboard!!
My son took these 3 pictures...
Shows all of us out in the water...
She did not want to come out!!
A few cheesies and a cold drink hit the spot...
And a bit of coloring in the shade...
And watering the flowers and filling the birdbath!!
Dinner was on the sunporch...
Chili...fresh crusty bread and Ceasar Salad...
Pralines and Cream Ice Cream for dessert!
The sunset was glorious!!
And a few fireworks from the neighbours!!
Perfect ending to a perfect day!!
Hope you all had a great long weekend...
Still darn hot here...had a downpour for about 10 minutes this afternoon...
Heat is expected for a few more days...geesh!!
Boyfriend is away on business...
I spent a lot of time at Michaels and Marshalls this morning!!
Been putzing around the house...
And I have 2 banana blackberry loaves in the oven...
With a new crumble on top...
Having a friend for lunch tomorrow...have not seen her in a while!
Hoping for some good gossip!! hahaha!
Enjoy your evening...
Cheers! :o)

Looks like a fun day in the water. And that is s beautiful sunset. Was wondering....do you guys have air conditioning?
ReplyDeleteNope.....au naturel!
DeleteWhat a lovely happy post, Linda. Little Miss V is getting adventurous, braving the big lake, and looks totally adorable in her birdie dress. Family times are the greatest, and with fireworks too; very nice fire pics. Hope you give us the recipe for the new crumble - sounds yum. I wish we had Michaels here - I loved it when visited it in Canada. Happy week!!
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed Michaels VERY much! Got a lot of neat stuff!
ReplyDeleteThe house smells of banana bread...yum!
Enjoy your week Patricia...
Lovely photos . I do like your cottage sun porch ! It is still sticky out there . They say it will be cooling off by next week I enjoy the AC but prefer to have fresh cool breezes with the windows wide open cant stand being all cooped up and closed up get enough of that in the winters lol ! Supper looks YUMMY . I like suppers like that quick yummy and simple ! Thanks for sharing , Have a good day !
ReplyDeleteThanks Elaine...
DeleteHave a/c at home....but we enjoy the lake breezes at the cottage....
Have a great week...
Lovely pics! Food galore, sunsets, beautiful water and the sweet Miss V. Perfection. Yup, cooler would be nice but being on the lake makes up for it!
ReplyDeleteOh, and I love Papa carrying her - too darn cute!
DeleteMe too!
DeleteLooks like such a great time. What a lovely family you have!
ReplyDeleteThanks Martha!
DeleteMust check you out...how are renos coming??
I'm so happy that the water was calm enough for Miss V! And warm I hope. She looks like she is having a ball. She has such expressive eyebrows and high color...I just adore your pictures of her.
ReplyDeleteMemorable times and meals...so wonderful, Linda.
Hugs and good times ahead.

The pics of her coloring are super:) So clear..the little baby hands still♥
ReplyDeleteLooks like you had fun!
We sure did Monique...waiting for a Fall visit from everyone!
DeleteLooks like a delightful day . . . (HOT TOO!)
ReplyDeleteBut what fun to have the lake to play in . . .
Tender young feet and toes don't like the stones much . . .
Next year she will probably run right in to the water. . . .
I had water shoes for her, but she did not want them!!
DeleteNo problem...Papa was more than happy to carry her!
There is sand, once you get past the rocks...
What a great weekend! The pictures are wonderful! And Miss V is as adorable as ever!
ReplyDeleteMy days are still all mixed up. ha ha!
I hardly know which end is up. Good thing I don't mind hanging upside down every now and again.
:0)
I think you are doing great Martha...so much on your plate! New granddaughters, and a new job...go easy on yourself!
DeleteWhat a perfect day at the lake! I am not minding this heat one bit although the east wind yesterday really cooled it down and today, so far, it's cloudy, foggy, misty and damp but the heat is supposed to return this afternoon. We fly away tomorrow to Calgary. Yay!! xo Pam
ReplyDeleteStill hot here...rain this morning...cloudy and windy now...kinda yucky!
DeleteHave a wonderful time!!! Hugs!
What a perfect long weekend you created! Being beside water in the hot and muggy weather ... nothing better in my opinion. Love Miss V's dress with all the birds ;) All these photos paint the perfect summertime scene Linda. Enjoy your fresh-baked loaves!
ReplyDeleteWendy
Thanks for your kind words Wendy...it was a great time!
DeleteHad a slice with my lunch guest...delish!
Looks as though you had a great weekend! Miss V really looks so grown up now doesn't she!!! Not a little baby at all any more. Hope you enjoy the time to yourself while your boyfriend is away! xx
ReplyDeleteHi Amy.....
DeleteShe is growing so fast....and so smart!
I had a friend for lunch today...he will be home by 7:30, dinner....celebrate our 43 rd anniversary!
What a wonderful family do . . . and you all got to have a paddle . . . or should I say a wade . .
ReplyDeleteLittle Miss V looks so happy there with all her various activities . .
Sunset and Firework photos great . . . particularly.
Having Peter for next two days . . . early start 7.30 so early to bed for me . . . :)
Hi Eddie....
DeleteA paddle and a wade! Lovely!
She was a busy bee for sure! Very happy!
Get some rest....perhaps some pics of young Peter?
Aren't I the lucky one to have a slice of your banana blackberry loaf today and the rest of our yummy lunch. Fun to catch up with you and to see all of your crafty knick knacks in and around your house. A very happy 43rd Anniversary to you and the boyfriend and thanks again for the lovely shared time. :)
ReplyDeleteIt was my pleasure Hester....I love having friends over....
DeleteStill waiting for boyfriend to arrive!
I'm just catching up tonight. Love this post with the family gathered together for a meal on that adorable porch. And I noticed the plates on the kitchen wall...love it. Miss V is growing too fast, just like our Riley. Isn't it great to have them living close so we can enjoy them often. Her birdie dress is so cute. I'd wear that. lol. I'm sure you are hoping to milk this summer for all it's worth. The humidity has finally left us and now it feels like it should. Loving the last days of summer.
ReplyDeleteHi Deb...thanks for taking the time to come back and read this one!
DeleteA lot of those plates came with the cottage...not on the wall...but in the cupboards!
They brighten things up, I think!
Heading out there tomorrow...just leaving to pick up Miss V♥️
Today is gorgeous!!
Just discovered your blog, and will just have to come back to visit...especially since Miss V and I share a lovely name! Not very common, as names go...but I've always enjoyed it ;-). Your lake cottage looks delightful.
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful pictures and Miss V is just a little doll isn't she??
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad I found this post Linda. I can't believe how much Miss V has grown! Simply amazing!!! It seems like she was a little baby just yesterday. I LOVE that picture of her watering. I can't wait until my grandkids come next year and help me water. Enjoy every single solitary moment, Linda. They are priceless:)
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for sharing, Linda...
Great pictures. Can't wait to see Freckles. What a fun name.
