Just Another Day.....

Took a drive to the cottage today...
The closer we got...
The less snow there was...
And...
The warmer it got...
No sunshine...
Very cloudy and damp...
Boyfriend shut the water down...
I emptied the rest of the fridge...
Packed up some cans of soup...
Brought some linens home to wash up...
So...
They will....
Smell fresh and lovely when we open her up again!!
I stepped into the shed to get some bird seed...
And...
A wee flurry of snow blew by...
Just for a few minutes...

I have not had time to sift thru my pictures from last year....yet...
I have not had time to take any Christmas decor down yet...
Perhaps tomorrow will accomplish a few things...

Right now...
I am going to relax...
And then...
Put some Chicken Thighs...which are soaking in buttermilk...
Into some panko crumbs and into the oven...
I think a few roasted potatoes and some Zucchini will do nicely...

Hope you are all well and enjoying this extra long holiday!!
It will all be over before we know it!!

Tomorrow night is the last Season of Downton Abbey...
Looking forward to enjoying that...

                Enjoy your evening my friends...

                           Cheers!  :o)

  3. I never have gotten into Downton Abbey, mainly because I didn't even know it existed until a couple of years ago. But it seems like a very popular show. I love your birdie picture! This weather has been crazy this winter. I'm so ready for winter weather. And I'm ready for you to get snow so that you can share pictures of it with us southerners.

  5. Your just another day sounds like something from a book. Speaking of Downtown Abby....check out my blog. Today we went to the Post Parade Showcase (where you can see all the Rose Parade Floats up close and personal. There was a great one for Downtown Abby. Tomorrow starts our normal routine...New years parties and events behind us. Church and football tomorrow. Your chicken thighs sound good ~ do you soak a lot of things in buttermilk?

  6. Sweet birdie shot and lovely picture of you!
    Bye, bye cottage... rest well.
Today was a sad day as a dear friend of mine died unexpectedly after a brief illness. Had known him over 30 years, performed together, etc. Tough way to start a new year but serves to remind us how precious life is.

  7. You look as I imagine you in this pic. And very good I might say.

It sounds so great and 'solid' at your cottage, what we would have been doing. Ahh, soon enough...no pity party here tonight. Your dinner sounds so great. I pulled together a chicken stir fry with veggies and a little balsamic and honey. Done in 10 minutes including chopping. We are eliminating carbs to a minimum so no need for potatoes or rice. Dismal but good in the long run...maybe twice a week if we are really, really good ha!

Happy 2016---have I said that already in previous comments??!!!

  13. Always a bit sad closing up for the season ... like our last camping trip in fall. I'm glad winter finally arrived, even if the snowfall is minimal. It's nice to see a bit of sparkly glitter on the ground. That's a really nice B&W shot of you! I got the last of Christmas boxed up today ... pine needles EVERYWHERE ... and mine is a fake tree! Happy New Year Linda!

  14. Lovely shed photo of you, Ms. Linda. Went to an Indonesian celebration on the weekend, posted some FB photos today. And our favourite thing to do, two movies the last couple of days. Also looking forward to Downton tonight, sorry that it'll be the final season. Have a good week and take care of your "sinus thingey" this week. Promise? :)

    1. Also, so many people on Coronation Street taking a break, won't be many regular cast left. Emily is going off to Peru to be with her nephew Spider. Can't say I like Nessa, love how Amy calls her the Lock Nessa monster.
