Easter Preparations....

Hello everyone...

Hope you are well...

Where does the time go?

Getting ready for the family to come for Turkey dinner tomorrow...Good Friday...

We like to do it this day...and then have the rest of the weekend to do whatever we want!!! Not just me...but the kids as well...

I have everything under control, despite the ice storm we got overnite and today...

Some people have lost their power...but we are good...made a quick run to the store, for a few odds and ends...

Have a few appetizers prepared...need to bake a pie of some sort tomorrow...will check my freezer for berries!!

Miss V and I baked some cookies yesterday...for now, I am cheating, by buying the Pilsbury ones, that are already cut...when she is a bit older, we will graduate to a cookie recipe...but not just yet....she enjoys placing them on the cookie sheet...and adding sprinkles! I have a cupboard full of sprinkles, as I have been buying them for every occasion!! I'm thinking I should perhaps put them in the freezer to keep them fresher...good idea???

Not too much decorating...rather lazy this year...and the weather is not inspiring me...at all!!

For my table...I found these cute wee terra cotta pots with Muscari bulbs in them!! Aren't they just the darn cutest things??? And...I can plant them in the garden, when they are done! I love things that work double duties!!

No cutlery or napkins when I took this earlier in the week...

I went with one of my Moms hot pink tablecloths...and a white runner...

Napkins are pink and green...ironed...but not on the table yet!!

Well....they are now...but not then!! hahaha!!

You know what I mean!!

Yesterday...after baking the cookies...Miss V and I decided to do some kooky crafting!!

First...we photocopied our hands together...in Papa's office...then...we added sparkles...googly eyes...pompoms...jewels...{treasures are what Miss V calls them}...and a few stickers...pretty snappy,eh? hahaha! It was fun!! I put it on the fridge...with some magnets...

Now...for a sneak peek at the Easter Basket I Crocheted Miss V...and a sweet wee Bunny tucked inside!!  I have more stuff to go in...but I wanted to show you this much!!! Pretty cute eh??

We are heading to the cottage on Saturday...so I won't see you for a few days...I hope you all have a wonderful Easter weekend....with the people that you love....and eat, drink and be merry!!

Cheers!  :o)

  1. You look well organized for some Easter fun. This year we are doing things very different. I have always been the one to have the dinner but ...well...the mouse-house is too tiny so we are going to my sister's home for Easter Sunday and Monday we get together with the grandittles. My youngest, Allie, is in Cuba so this is a very odd Easter for us. I love all the colour in your dining-room...so cheery. Very pretty Easter table, indeed. And the basket is adorable. Have a wonderful time with your family, Linda. Hope the bunny is good to you. Hugs, Deb

  12. Beautiful table...love what you did! And that crochet bunny...aw. Adorable! I got the last of my shopping done today and planned the menu and my baking day tomorrow. I do agree that with the early calendar date and the weather, it doesn't feel like Easter at all! We're having ham on Sunday. Baking a carrot cake for the first time. Why I have never done that is a mystery to me! haha. Thought Ree Drummond's recipe would be a sure bet.
Enjoy your Good Friday dinner...and the weekend at the cabin! Hope the weather cooperates for you!

How adorable Miss V making her bunny cookies. How cute, I hadn't seen those from Pillsbury. Your table decor is so festive. Yumm, a Turkey Dinner. We do a Easter Picnic after church so all the kids can run and play and find Easter Eggs. The older grandchilden and adults just hang out and EAT.

Hope your whole weekend is marvelous.

  22. I was at a client's yesterday that had grape hyacinths all over her front lawn with a gazillion daffodil. I commented on them and she had planted them 45 years ago when she was a young mom. She can no longer tend her garden but the grape hyacinths and daffodil still greet her every spring.
