We arrived early afternoon...and after some lunch...got busy!
Raked...clipped...and burnt!
The wind was perfect for a bonfire on the beach...
I got the firepit ready for after dinner...
We went to the local fish restaurant, and had a great meal...
When we returned...we bundled up a bit...and enjoyed the firepit on the beach deck...
When we went inside...we enjoyed a lovely fire there...as well!
Sunday morning was even brighter...and warmer...
A bit more raking...
New flag in place...
Sat on the beach deck...
And enjoyed listening to the birds...
And soaking in the warm sun...
It was near 20*c when we left for home...
As we got closer to Grimsby Ontario...
The fog was unbelievable...and the temps dropped to 4*C!!!
Quite a change in weather!
But...by the time we got home...it was 13*c again...
What a beautiful Easter weekend it was!!
Hope you are all well...
This crazy weather is getting out of control...
At least today is sunny...and not quite as windy...
Monday was hideous! hahaha!
I am off to pick up Miss V for the day...
I feel the park calling our names!!
Enjoy your day...
Cheers! :o)
linda ♥️
That looks heavenly. A proper Spring weekend.
ReplyDeleteThanks Jessica....wish it had lasted longer!
DeleteLove seeing the beginnings of cottage life again. Sprouts sprouting and fires burning. Lots of work, I know, but it looks like such a great place!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful sunshine today. Was just on my rooftop garden watching the lake. Wonderful. We're in for some cold though! Nature's last blast perhaps.
Have fun with Miss V - I know - goes without saying!
LOTS of work! But....so rewarding....this weekend looks crappy!
DeleteToday was nice.....but, still a nipply wind!
Lovely photos . I love being able to get out and clean up the yard and have a camp fire and eat food outdoors again I find food tastes so much better outside I wonder why that is ? ! Yes the weekend here was lovely as is today . Thanks for sharing , Have a good day with Miss V .
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed eating outdoors in Florida...hopefully soon here!
DeleteSeems like yesterday that you said goodbye to your cottage..it flew by..you are way ahead of us..but we are catching up..
ReplyDeleteyou have such a nice spot/cottage there:)
Have fun w/ the Little Princess...
Went to the park....fed the birds....to the store for a new "booster" car seat...now, relaxing, watching Paw Patrol!
DeleteNo more boosters here..
DeleteShe loved it! So much easier....
DeleteI bet you were as excited a little kids going for a sleepover :)
ReplyDeleteLovely to be enjoying the cottage once again.
How did you know? Hahaha!
DeleteJudging from those two photos of your firepit, it looks like you had second thoughts about toasting your tootsies!
ReplyDeleteFirst shot is before dinner...you can see the bonfire behind!
DeleteSecond shot...after dinner....a bit cooler then!
Hi Linda all yours picture slook lovely, the Cottage is beautiful, how is miss V???
ReplyDeletexoxoxoxo
Hi Gloria....she is perfect♥️
Deleteall is right with the world again.
ReplyDeletethe cottage sleep over! :)
spring has sprung!!! XO♥
Hahaha!
DeleteYou got it Tammy!
I sense the love you have for that place . . . :)
ReplyDeleteI see you are keeping your feet warm by the bonfire.
Love all the piccies and love that indoor fire you have with that fantastic fire guard . .. :)
HI Eddie....
DeleteYes...I am very passionate about my cottage! Love it!
My toes were relaxing...after a busy day....bonfire in the background....hahaha!
That guy is cool,eh?
The first of many bonfires! It looks so much warmer there than the pictures over the winter...spring really is settling in. It's still chilly here at night but things are sprouting and the grass is turning green. We should pull out our baby fire pit and make s'mores soon!
ReplyDeleteWe buy a new flag every year, too, to hang on the front of the house. :)
Yes...love fires!
DeleteYum....s'mores.....
Lovely photos, especially that funky fire guy. :) And today sounded like a fun day with Miss V. in the park. We're here enjoying some southern hospitality, just love Savannah. The weather's been in the 70's, lots of tourists strolling around the historic part of town. Yes, yes, I posted a few FB photos, ha, ha. Have a nice rest of the week....
ReplyDeleteHad a great day....having her Friday night for a sleepover.....
DeleteSavannah is a beautiful city....enjoy!
Wow. I can't believe how nice it was at the cottage on the weekend. That is great for March. We had a nice day today and it went up to 8 in the sunshine. xx Pam
ReplyDeleteIt was excellent! Not bad today....rain moving in...:o(
DeleteThe signs of life everywhere at your cottage lift my spirits, Linda. Yes, a ton of work but how nice it is the unearth green sprouts! It must have been quite nice on the deck with the fire as I see your little tosies!! I love a good fire...our beach isn't very large and we are on a small bay with an inlet to the large lake so we don't have the spectacular view you have. We do have a nice one on the open patio and a chimney under the covered section, But I wouldn't mind a metal sort on the beach as you have on your deck. Feet in the warm water, a tiki torch and the sound of the bullfrogs would be heavenly!
ReplyDeleteLove that you are getting away so soon! :)
Rain and thunder here...sort of cozy hearing it on the roof.
Jane
Raining here...blah...only good thing, I don't need to dust when it is cloudy! hahaha!!
DeleteYour photos are so beautiful. I can see your comment on my dashboard, but I don't see it on the blog -- sometimes Blogger does weird things! AT any rate, thanks for reading and commenting. Your little Miss V is a cutie!
ReplyDeleteAhhhhh, those photos by the fire (out at the beach) look so great. I agree that the weather has been crazy. We are in the midst of even more rain. There's bound to be flooding in places. Hope you have a lovely day at the park with Miss V. -Jenn
ReplyDeleteI love a fire...so soothing...raining here too...and darn windy!!
DeleteHad a great day with Miss V...thanks Jenn!
You shouldn't even complain about your weather. You have had the easiest winter ever! Love the pictures of the inside fire!
ReplyDeleteYou mean the LONGEST winter ever....
DeleteOh how I envy you all at your lake cottage. Loved seeing photos of Lake Erie, was born and lived in Cleveland, OH til I was 10 yrs. old. Been very long time since have seen Lake Erie, kinda scarey looking so huge.
ReplyDeleteWe used to go up into Canada when I was quite small yet, cottage on Lake Superior I think, learned to swim there. Nobody else was around ever.
This would have been from about 1946 to 1949.We moved to Tucson, AZ in 1950 as my brother had asthma very badly, his life was in danger. At 15 him and I were very close to same size. Once we got to AZ he shot up to size for his age. Seeing your cottage sure stirred some memories for me.
Your grand daughter is such a beautiful child. Enjoy her while she is still small, it's a very special time for both of you. How wonderful to have your family with you at lake. Happy weekend
Well...I am pleased that my cottage brought you good memories...I hope you will stop by often...and your name is???
DeleteSounds like a lovely weekend for you . . .
ReplyDeleteProductive too . . .
I love the fragrance of a camp fire . . .
Our weather has been crazzzzy . . . Cold, freezing, then sunny, a bit warmer . . .
A teaser . . . and then the frost again, snow predicted for tonight/ tomorrow.
April 1 for me writing this . . . I'm not fooling about the snow prediction!
It was Lynne!
DeleteI think crappy is a better word for the weather...snow predicted for us too!! Geesh....
Ah you're back! Excellent.
ReplyDeleteHI Blue!
DeleteShort lived....
Winter has returned.....:o(
