It was a very dull...dark...cloudy day at the cottage...
When we visited last Friday...
It wasn't cold...5*c...north wind...calm lake...
I think it was colder INSIDE than outside!
Boyfriend got the water going...and I got the fridge on!!
Cleaned up after the squirrel business...lots of sooty prints everywhere!!
The beach is like a tornado hit it!!
Lots of driftwood and odds and ends...lots to clean up!!
Will make a lovely bonfire though!
My gardens are snow free...and lots growing...and...lots of leaves!
These Hollyhocks are eager...and lots of daffodils and tulips popping up!
On our way to the cottage...we dropped off a bag at one of our thrift shops...
Of course...I had to buy something!!
I spent $1.50 on all 3 things!
Loved the Bugs Bunny glass...and the etched Bird on the other glass grabbed my attention...
One more Pup to add to my doggie collection...
The one with the pink bows is the newest!
They remind me of Carnival prizes!!
We did not sleep over...but...we did leave the furnace on...YAY!!!
As we were leaving to come home...a bit of snow flurrie blew in!!
I always love this view of the point...on our way out....
Hope you all had a wonderful weekend...
Weather has turned cold....brrr...and darn windy....geesh!!
Need to make a list for my Easter preparations...
The kids will come on Friday for dinner...and treats! hahaha!
Then...perhaps Boyfriend and I will go to the cottage...
If the weather co-operates, that is!!
Have a great day!!
Baked Ham...Scallopped potatoes...brocolli and bok choy tonight...
Cheers! :o)
linda ♥️
So nice that you got to the cottage and got the furnace on. Hopefully you'll soon enjoy a warmer day there. Lots of signs of spring too! The dog collection is really cute and so is Bugs! Hugs! Pam
ReplyDeleteYes....hopefully SOON!
DeleteThe dog is cute,eh? Boyfriend says I need to stop! Hahaha! NEVER!
I think that sky is very dramatic ! I would love that, water and sky and clouds, curl up with a book and a fire .. take a nap.
ReplyDeleteDinner sounds great .. I will have some potatoes and broccoli please :)
Soon enough Candice....soon enough! I need a fire...it has been too long!
DeleteLooks like we are in for bad weather the next few days😞 Love the views from the cottage and I bet it was cold inside. Your plants are well ahead of mine. Not letting hubby rake yet since we might have more snow! Grrrrr
ReplyDeleteFingers crossed no snow, Linda!
DeleteWon't be long.....stay positive!
Gosh, there will be lots to pick up, but I am sure that you will enjoy it and some of it will float away again I imagine! I bet that you were so glad to be back there and to see that all was OK apart from that very naughty squirrel! They are tricky little animals aren't they! xx
ReplyDeleteYes....for sure.....I will fill baskets with wood suitable for the fireplace....lots of good kindling there!
DeleteThey are aren't they?
A bit deary and boy what a lot of drift wood.
ReplyDeleteOrder will come out of chaos no doubt when you get stuck into things the weather improves . . . :)
Hi Eddie....
DeleteYes.....the boyfriend and I will get it all done....
Bonfire for the Queens birthday holiday weekend end of May!
Kids will love it!
Good plan . . :)
DeleteI thought so!
DeleteHave a great Easter!
We're a little chilly down here, too! The snow is gone and like you, little green things are sprouting all over the place. The grass sure is green!
ReplyDeleteBaked ham sounds delish...we'll have that Sunday. Yum.
Ham was delish....will be eating it all week! Hahaha!
DeleteTurkey on Good Friday.....
Then we can eat that for a week!
I didn't mind the gloomy . . . great pictures . . .
ReplyDeleteAnd oh my . . . I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE your head photo!
The Hydrangeas? Yes.....beautiful,eh?
DeletePesky squirrel? Sooty footprints?! I missed all of this. Did you have a squirrel come down your chimney?! Oh dear. I once had a blackbird come down our woodstove pipes and into the house. Sooty wing prints everywhere ha ha! Looks like the bonfire will be a good one with all that driftwood. Too bad there weren't some nice big pieces to decorate with in your gardens. Such a cold wind today! Holy cow, I put my winter coat back on. Have a great week Linda!
ReplyDeleteWendy
When my daughter and SIL visited a few weeks back....there was a squirrel inside!
DeleteLuckily SIL got him out! Must have come down the chimney....even though we gave a cage over it!
We keep anything that looks good...have quite a stack....any suggestions?
Lovely photos ! The weekend was sunny with cloudy periods and chilly for us but today was cold windy with snow squalls and then sun shine thank goodness none of the snow stayed and all melted as it hit the ground . The rest of the week rain and chilly . Oh well it is officially spring and that I can handle . Thanks for sharing , have a good day !
ReplyDeleteYes....windy here too!
DeleteEnjoy your week, Elaine!
You're not getting any Spring Equinox snow there? Sweet. It seems everywhere else is getting it!
ReplyDeleteNot yet...but....it is only Monday!
DeleteYikes, I'm trying to ignore the 10 cm. snow/rain mix forecast for Thursday! Glad you're back into photos of your feet, cute blue rain boots. And great buys at $1.50! My BF made stir fry tonight, but it was a little rushed so that we could get to our annual condo meeting. Always nice to chat with neighbours who we haven't seen all winter. Have a good week, Ms. Linda.
ReplyDeleteI am too! Hahaha!
DeleteLove stir fry....haven't made that in a long time....
Enjoy your week Hester!
Glad you got there to open up, even if it was dull and grey!
ReplyDeleteHi Furry!
DeleteOh gosh.....me too!
We had really nice weather for our little Branson trip, but it has turned very chilly here and windy, too. It's supposed to warm up tomorrow then get colder again the next day. Crazy weather! Love your photos and those with the cute boots! Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteHi Cheryl!!

It all looks wonderful despite the gray! Love your dog collection :) I just cooked a similar dinner.... now we are eating leftovers, which I love - so easy. Enjoy your Easter week! x Karen
ReplyDeleteYes...we will be eating ham for a few days!! I have a few different ideas for serving it!!
DeleteEnjoy your week!!
It seems like no time since the cottage was locked down, but here it is ready for Spring. Lovely to see the views, the new plants emerging, and your latest finds. What great value! Loving the etched bird glass, so pretty. Happy Easter Linda.
ReplyDeleteYes....SPRING...it sure is taking its time, though!!
DeletePretty darn cold this week...and a clipper headed our way!
Happy Easter Patricia!!
Pretty photo with the bright green shoots poking up. That springtime green shade is always so intense... and welcome.
ReplyDeleteLove the glass with the etched birdie.
I loved that too! SO dainty! But....I am a sucker for anything etched!
DeleteEnjoy your week Suzanne!
It still looks lovely!
ReplyDeleteAlways so much to do in spring and fall..
wonderful watching nature awaken..Miss V? Will she use the What's Up Doc glass? She will want to..fun finds..I like quirky, cute and charming.
Happy Easter..I have only put my wreath up as Easter /J's bday is at Caroline's with a hunt outside here first.
Hi Monique!
DeleteYes...lots to do....good to be busy! Right?
If she is nice to me, she can use it at the cottage! Hahaha!
Take pics of the hunt!
Oh yes, green things are surely coming up. I suspect that you won't mind cleaning up the debris...that it's just great to be back at the cottage. Hope you have a great Easter.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely Laurie...part and parcel of having 2 homes....love it!
DeleteThese are very moody pictures and truly beautiful if you know the Great Lakes as we do, Linda. I can imagine the work you have ahead of you but by starting early you will be ready for fun and relaxation in a few weeks. I love Hollyhocks, I hope to add that to the lake garden at some point.
ReplyDeleteYour puppy collection, or at least these three are so sweet. 1950's?
We will have 3 of the 4 kids here for Easter dinner as well as their spouses/partners. And Papa. First time in years that I haven't had a crowd so we can all sit at the table instead of balancing plates on our laps! Ha! What do you make for Easter dinner? I have to go and pick out my ham today and then I'll get the fresh items later. Will post soon.
Happy to be home? :-D
Jane
Will be ready for sure Jane! Hope this weather warms up....soon!
DeleteEnjoy the smaller crowd....we will be 8 here...just right!
Turkey and all the fixins' for us....Yum!
Very happy to be home....but....not liking all the cold! I want some more sun!
our reve' is doing etched glass. or she was. around Christmas she got swamped with special orders.
ReplyDeleteI think she may have burnt out on it just a bit now.
now she's starting a garden! getting her soil down. they live in a mild climate year round.
I love the cloudy pictures. but then I love cloudy days! especially at the beautiful cottage. xo♥
I think you told me this before....now a Garden? Tennessee right?
DeleteLovely state....we always enjoy staying there on our trip south and home...
Enjoy your Easter!
Nice to see things coming to life there, Linda. I walk around here but it's still too soon for here. Buds on some trees, though. I wanted to wish you and yours a Happy Easter. Hope the bunny is good to you and have fun with the fam. :)Deb
