The star of the show...
Last weekend...
Without a doubt...
Was my Nine Bark Shrub...
When I planted it...
Around 6 years ago...
It had dark burgundy leaves...
I believe it was called the "Diablo" Nine Bark...
Over the years..
The foliage has changed a bit...
There are still some areas of dark leaves...
But the green ones have crept their way in...
And that is OK with me...the flowers are soooooo worth it!
As you can see...it is quite a large shrub...
And..flowers everywhere!!!
Perhaps some advise from you gardeners who follow me...
If I cut it back {OUCH!}...will I get the dark foliage back???
Not that I mind the green foliage....just sayin'.....
I managed to get a shot of the Moon....
Late afternoon...
And at night...
Awesome!!!!
Hopefully we will get to see the full Moon this weekend...
Before the next round of storms and cloud rolls in!!!
Leaving on Sunday...Sun finally shining...on our way to my daughters and for a Fathers Day late lunch....
Until next time....
What surprises will this enchanted place hold for us...hmmmmmmmm...
Hope you all had a great day...
I hosted a small luncheon of sorts....
My friend D...and my "3" special girls...Lissa,Erika and of course Vivian!!!
Sweet cheeks kept us thoroughly entertained...so cute!!
We dined on egg salad sandwiches...Greek Salad...Pasta with fresh tomatoes and sun-dried tomatoes with fresh basil and Goats cheese........pickles...radishes...cucumber water...finished off with a pot of tea and a bowl of fresh strawberries, raspberries and blueberries....
Gluten- free bread for Lissa....And "twig-free" bread for Erika...{inside joke...tee hee hee}
D and I are very easy to please!!!!!
Had a great visit....what a lovely day!!!!!
On the menu for tonight....NOTHING!!!...my boyfriend had a big lunch in Montreal...and we ate....{very European}...around 2pm!!!!
Life is good.......enjoy the rest of your evening!!!
We are off to the cottage tomorrow...
First day of summer on Friday....YAY....Full moon!!!...YAY...
I couldn't be happier...:o)
Cheers! :o)

My ninebark is the red leaved one with different coloured flowers to yours. You beat me at posting photos of it, and photos of the moon. Last night the moon shone right through a crack in the blinds right into my eyes and I should of got up and took photos of it I did get lots of other ones, and I'm hoping for some good ones on the weekend. Now about that oriole nest .......

ReplyDeleteI love your diablo. It looks very similar to something we have! I don't know the name of mine...maybe it's diablo, too! ha. The flowers are the same...need to look at the leaves again to make sure!
Just do a google search...you'll come up with it...
DeleteMore moon shots to come...

ReplyDeletePeonies opening up your blog are just absolutely amazing! Nice to hear you are so very happy as well. Life is good for you. Moving day for me tomorrow....apparently NOTHING in the back yard of my new home. Yikers.......will be visiting the nurseries and with lots of your help.....getting things up and running...can't wait. Moon shots are wonderful.....do you sleep with your camera or what???? Just kidding.....love it.
ReplyDeleteHave a good weekend! I hope it gets warm and you don't have any cold lake breezes. :)
ReplyDeleteHey, when the lake gets stinky, do you just get used to the smell? Or do you decided to stay home until it's better again?
I'm hoping that cottage lake warms up soon and spills some warm water into my lake. Can you work on that for me? Thanks.
