After finishing my planting and trimming yesterday...
I took a few shots of my front garden....
The biggest standout this week...
Is the Anemone Nemorosa... AKA...
The Wood Anemone....
It has spread throughout the front yard...
As you may have noticed...
We have NO front lawn!!
It is just perennials...
Many people stop me...when I am out there working...and say that they love my front garden, as it changes all the time....The different Perennials that are blooming...take centre stage...and then the next blooms...I love it this way...hardly any maintenance...except for raking the never-ending pine needles from our big tree!!! Even in the winter it has a lot of interest...from the Perennial Grasses....right down to the Solomon's Seal and Hydrangea...
I will keep you updated from time to time, on what is blooming in the front garden....
Can you believe there is still some Forget-me-not and Violets blooming as well...My front garden faces East, so gets limited sun....I guess that is why they are still thriving out here... |
My Lilac is some sort of french Hybrid Species....Blooms later than the others...and is very fragrant....but the blooms are smaller...It is now on it's last legs for another year....
My extra large Big Daddy Hosta is looking mighty fine...
When we had the front walk done last Fall...I divided him, as I had to dig him up...
He is also doing well where I transplanted his divisions...
This tiny Purple Campanula is as cute as can be...
Just a tiny shot of purple up near the house...
Nestled amongst the Snow on the Mountain and a few woodland geraniums...
Well.....
How did you enjoy our visit to some of my front garden?
We will visit again...
Soon....:o)
Hope you all had a great day...
Some sun.....some cloud....a lot of rain...damp....humid....wee bit gusty...
On the menu tonight...
Chicken Pot Pie....{made from the leftover rotisserie chicken!!! tee hee hee!!!}
And a side Greek Salad...
My daughter and Vivian will be joining us...:o)
Enjoy the rest of your evening...
Cheers! :o)

Why thanks Kris!
DeleteLovely gardens . Oh supper sounds YUMMY and best of all you have your girls with you to ! Thanks for sharing ! Raining on and off with the odd peek of sun here today ! Have a good day !
ReplyDeleteDinner was good...after the downpour!!!
DeleteOff to the cottage tomorrow...YAY!!
I loved visiting your front garden. It's beautiful. Hosta is one plant I miss since moving to the desert; I don't think I've ever seen it growing here. I'm sure it's too dry for it. But my mom always had it and I had some in our first house when we still lived in the east. I love your lilac, it's a really pretty shade. Dinner sounds terrific, as usual! :)
ReplyDeleteI never thought of that...Hostas I mean...perhaps you should start a new gardening trend...see if it works...put them in the shade...you never know!!
DeleteIt's beautiful! Violets do love their shade, don't they? And that hosta is a monster! haha.
ReplyDeleteYes...my Big Daddy is a monster...hahaha!
DeleteI wish the violets bloomed all summer....
Love your gardens. Wish my thumbs were a little bit greener, although I will say, I can grow some mighty fine weeds!
ReplyDeleteYou are a great gardener! Look at those Peonies you grew...
DeleteAnd...you write witty posts...I like that!
Yum, chicken pot pie is one of my favourites.
ReplyDeleteI'm jealous that you don't have any front lawn ... I've always wanted to do that, but the front area is so big ... and then hubby wouldn't have a place to ride his lawn tractor :)
Friday looks like a lovely day.
It was goood!
ReplyDeleteNow..remember...I don't live in the country!
We have and acre at the cottage, so my boyfriend gets a work out there!
We don't have ride-on...'cause I have too many beds! ha!
Hope to have a warm sunny weekend!
