Let's Start With Friday......

This past weekend...

At the cottage...

Was less than desirable weather...

To say the least...

The keys from our Maple trees were everywhere...

After unpacking...

This was the first job!!!

And...

Sweeping wet keys...is not...an easy job!!!

As you can see from the sky...

It was a very overcast day...

One good thing...

There was no wind!!!

First to come by...

Were 4 large groups of Canada Geese...

Floating by...

Not a care in the world...

The beach was calm...

Even some sand this week...

You could see the bottom...

Nice and clear...

Check out all the keys!!!

Even found a nice feather...

Nestled amongst the darn KEYS!!!!

We had some corn with dinner....

The Mourning Doves were making rather merry, down on the beach!!!

And....a Seagull paddled in for a closer look!!!

                    Succulents looking lovely and lush...

                            Complete with KEYS!!!

                     Woodland Geraniums are AWESOME!!!

My Nine Bark Shrub was just opening up...

               Aren't those flowers cool?!

Picked up a lovely hot pink Petunia planter for this tree...

Such a nice shot of colour, for a dark spot...

And...

She will be out of the direct sun and wind...

Much better chance of survival that way!!!

One of my Begonias in one of my baskets....

I did not get anymore planted...

                     But...

                     I spray painted more baskets...

I am soooo ready for next weekend....ALREADY!!!!

I didn't even set up the Sunporch this weekend...

Way too damp and chilly...

But...

I did get a shot...

Of my Fabulous Ferns..

And HUGE Hosta in a washtub...

Love these!!!

So.....that about covers Friday at the cottage...

We did have a nice warm fire that night...warmed our bones!!!

Be back tomorrow...with some brighter pictures...FLOWERS!!!     YAY!!!!

Hope you all had a great day...

We had rain ALL day...I know, I know.....good for the garden!!!

On the menu tonight...

     Meatloaf....roasted taters and carrots..

           Greek salad to start....

Made another pot of Potato Leek soup today...

My boyfriend and daughter said it was "delicious"....:o)

                       Cheers!  :o)

  1. The cabin is looking great, in spite of the rain. The beach looks beautiful and I love the bird photos. You're only the second person I've heard calling them maple keys; the other person is also Canadian so it must be a common term there. My mother always called them "Polly noses" for some reason!

  2. I have never heard those crazy maple seeds called "keys". We always called them "helicopters" because of how they fly down to the ground. They are everywhere here too. Won't weeding be fun when they start sprouting?

I have fallen in love with my Woodland Geraniums too. Wasn't sure I liked them at first, but I do. I have pink and white.

    1. They are actually the seeds for new trees....
It dries up on the branches...then they twirl to the ground...
Sometimes they root...and you get them coming up EVERYWHERE!!!!
      Pretty annoying actually!!!
It was very cosy by the fire....one of my favorite things about the cottage..
