Iridescent Iris....and a few friends...

I had quite a few different Iris in bloom last weekend at the cottage...

Unfortunately...

My Iris at home...

Bloomed...

And fell over...

Before I got home!!!

I only have this mauve and purple one at home...

BUT...

I have a variety...{of sorts} at the cottage...

This particular one...

Would probably...

Be...

My...

Favorite....

What do you think???

And now for the few friends...

The end of the Oakleaf Hydrangea...

Complete with KEYS!!!!

The Pink Weigela is just coming into bloom...

I also have a variegated one..

This is the Mona Lavender Plant...

I had one last year...tried to bring it inside...but waited ONE day too long, and the frost got it...

I was VERY pleased to find another one!!!

Very pretty flowerg plant...I put it in a pot sprayed shiny black..

Very dramatic...

I am pretty sure I will be featuring her...from time to time...

I love when my Blue Spruce puts out new wicks...

So interesting!!!

And...

Apparently...

Edible!!!
I planted a few tomato plants, alongside the new portion of the deck...

I left this guy in charge of them when I am not there!!!

He is quite the little gardener!!!!

A lovely Mauve Phlox has now appeared...

Love these!!!

Hope you all had a great day!

We looked after Sweet Cheeks for a few hours...she had a lovely nap...

And made us both giggle!!!

On the menu tonight...

Oven roasted...buttermilk soaked...

Panko and Parmesan Cheese crusted boneless chicken cutlet...

Chicken Rice...and Asparagus with Parmesan cheese...

Enjoy the rest of your evening...

                               Cheers!   :o)

  1. You are really a consummate gardener, Linda. All of your flowers are fabulous and I agree, I think the mauve irises are my favorite too. Very unusual and striking.

    1. And that is why...dear Martha...I do all the whipping at the cottage!!!
My boyfriend does not know what is a plant...and what is not!!!
Sometimes I do have to sacrifice a few souls, for the better of the garden!
But....It is OK when I do it!! hahaha!

  6. Your iris fell over? The nerve! That pink iris looks pretty good. What... no blue one? How could that be? Don't tell me... It fell over? That Pink Weigela is my favorite.

P.S. What old saying did you have in mind, Linda? Could you, you know, spell it out for me? ;)

    1. I don't think Iris comes in blue...only in the smaller variety...

  7. Beautiful blooms Linda. I have the same mauve and purple iris but so far only one has opened up. We had one sunny warm day (Monday) since last Thursday and rain, rain, rain. What a terrible Spring/June! So, I'm impatiently waiting for the iris to bloom and not get broken off in the wind and rain. I love the Weigela shrubs in blossom. Beautiful!

  8. Looks like there must have been lots of rain while I was away. The garden has exploded. I shall have to get out today and do an inventory of "must do". I used to have Iris' but they dwindled out. They are such a country farm heirloom.

  9. is there anything more delicate or beautiful than the iris? my gramma loved them so... she called them the 'poor man's orchid.'
they remind me of her. so i especially loved this post.
such lushness. you are like some kind of enchanted little plantwitch!
yes. i just made up that word. it's a beautiful ethereal small witch that is so good with any flowers and plants... they just magically grow for her! she doesn't even have to get her hands dirty! LOLOL.
    i know. i know.
you do get your hands dirty and it's hard work. but...
    i'm thinking you're a bit bewitching too! :) xo
