Still Pretty Wintery.....

favorite shell near beach deck♥️

very long doodle....what to do????

Well....as you can see...not a very encouraging sight down at the cottage...

We took a drive last Friday...had a lovely lunch...some thrifting...

And arrived to see this...

Could not get into our driveway yet again...

Parked out front...and walked in thru our neighbours...

This pile will take forever!!!

And...with the lake still frozen...the normally southern wind, is blowing across ice...and really increasing the wind chill...

Lots of melting around the cottage...which results in lots of ice!

Two years ago...we opened the water on March 10th!!!

It was a record 28*C....NOT THIS YEAR!!!

I think it will be a few more weeks, until we can entertain any thoughts of spending time out there...

This saddens me greatly...

Making our season all that much shorter...especially when there was really no Fall last year...

Seemed to go from Summer......to Winter.....very quickly...

 Looking forward to the day...

When we can read the paper on the beach deck...

Raise our toes...

CHEERS!

To the lake and blue skies!!!
Hope you all had a great weekend...

Very cold here....today is -14*c with the windchill....

        Spending time doing housework....laundry...the usual...

                                        ***************

        On the menu tonight

Roasted crispy pork chops, roasted yams, asparagus

Enjoy the rest of your day...

              What are you up to???

            Oh yes....planted some Basil yesterday...

               Will watch its progress ♥️

                          Cheers!  :o)

  2. But I do see some grass there and some is even a bit green! :) Oh, it's pretty awful with all this snow isn't it? And it's so cold today. It's -11 but I'm sure the wind chill is -18 or more. Brrr. Thankful for the sun which will shine in my dining room window this afternoon as I'm feeling very cold at the moment. Got to get moving I guess. Salmon, tiny potatoes, asparagus and salad for supper. :) Hugs. Pam

  3. It amazing how it is totally clear in some places and then piled up so high in others, the wind does very strange things to snow!! I hope that it does melt soon so that you can get back out there again. It looks beautiful though!! xx

  4. Lovely photos! Yes, it's still very wintery out there. I was out this morning and it was quite chilly. It saddens me, too, that our warmer seasons will feel much shorter this year. Do we not already have winters that are too long? We don't need more of that!

  6. Do any of your neighbours live out there all year, or is it just too harsh?

    1. Absolutely they do!
But....they have permanent homes...ours is strictly 3 seasons...and does not include winter!
It is VERY harsh out there....after all...it is one of the 5 Great Lakes!

Dinner sounds delicious. Our sun left, it's overcast and chilly....so I made a pot of veggie soup.

  13. Lake Ontario still has very icy edges and Irondequoit Bay is still frozen at one end. It doesn't look like spring at our lake and your frozen lake still has to get dumped into ours. Maybe I should go shopping for some new sweaters... if I can find any amongst the bathing suits.
