World's Largest Afghan.....And Still Growing!!!

You may remember...

I started this afghan in Florida...

Started out as a scarf!!!! But...

But quickly became.... the never-ending afghan!!!

The thing is...

I had picked up 2 balls of the lime green at Wal-Mart...

When I decided I REALLY liked the lime green...

I went back for more...

You got it!!!!   NONE!!!

So...then I was really confused about the design...which...as you can plainly see...

There is NONE!!!

I will do a fringe with the same colors as the ends....good???

So....

I picked up a few more balls of...what I thought were co-ordinating colours...

And proceeded along my merry way!!!!

Saving the ONE remaining ball of lime green....for just the right spot...

Well...

This story has a very happy ending...

When my boyfriend was in the States last week...I googled a Wal- Mart near where he was staying...

And.....lo and behold...they had 4 balls of the lime green in stock....YAY!!!!

He was nice enough to pick them up for me...

So...now....I can add more lime green...and the co-ordinating colours...

And hopefully be finished...in this lifetime!!!

This was an ear warmer that I made for my daughter...

When I was finishing up...

Tried it on.....HUGE!!!!

I had tried it on during the process...

Fit fine....

What happens to my crochet...

That it all becomes HUGE!!!

                                                      ***********************

Hope you are all having a great day....

Dark and drizzly here...happy that the freezing rain has not materialized!

One more day 'til it is officially SPRING!....YAY!!!

On the menu tonight....

        Spaghetti and meat sauce...

Vegetarian for my son, who is joining us...♥️

                 Crusty bread and salad....

Enjoy the rest of your day...

       What are you up to????

                        Cheers!  :o)

  5. That is gorgeous, Linda. I love the colours you chose. My mom knitted me a blanket for a double bed in the popcorn stitch many years ago. I still use it today and it really held up well. Have fun carrying on...

  8. Hi Linda!
I'm actually appreciating the array of colors and that "pop" of lime green in your never ending Afghan. Marion is in the process of crocheting a camouflage blanket for her grandson's full size bed. I hope she doesn't run out of yarn because I know for sure Walmart won't have any more! (How sweet of your boyfriend to pick it up for you:) You might remember, she still has those Minion hats for my daughter's Relay For Life in June! How do you gals do it, lol...Thanks for sharing, Linda...I hope I'm around to see it finished, lol...

Now I know exactly what you mean when it comes to projects crocheting bigger...... I did a headband in knitting and it looked just right till I tried it on. Had to adjust .....I must be a big knitter.....lol

  11. I have a serious love hate relationship with the yarn section at WalMart! The prices are much better than other places, buuut they RARELY have the color I want in stock! Just a sad empty space on the shelf. I wish they had a better inventory and restock situation!

  13. I'm liking you huge and growing afghan. The afghan I am working on is small and likely to stay that way. I am a slow crocheter and wonder how my mom ever finished all those big, fancy afghans... Of course, some of them (if not all of them) took her years to complete. I hope mine doesn't take that long. The baby is due in October.

    1. Well....it is for a baby....so it should be small...you'll be finished in no time♥️
