Black Eyed Susans & Begonias♥️

This past weekend at the cottage was a variety of weather patterns...
Sunny...hot...humid...cloudy...windy...still...rainy...
But...
Through it all...
The Black Eyed Susans my friend Devon brought me...
Are flourishing...
Beautiful blooms...
Vibrant colour...
                                  Thanks Devon!

Once I get them planted in a suitable spot...
I will think of you...when their pretty faces show up in late July♥️

As always...
My precious Begonias...
Continue to put on a show...
They are certainly the never ending bloomers!
If you have never had them in your garden...mine are all in baskets!
I highly recommend them...
I always bring a few inside for the winter...
Sometimes they flourish...sometimes not...
But...always a show stopper...for sure!

We spent 3 1/2 days at the cottage...

Saw every weather pattern known to man!

Humidity...tremendous winds...to no wind!!

Watched lightning across the Lake in New York State...and very dark thick clouds...

I have pictures to share later...

How difficult to sift thru pictures...

And find just the right ones to share...

My Sunflowers, White Phlox and Squash flowers are incredible...

All my kids and  Miss V visited on Sunday...

There was a huge downpour, and we all ran for cover...

After the rain...the mugginess continued...but we did see the sun come back out...

And enjoyed another sit on the beach deck!

                                               *******************

Hope you all had a great weekend...I know it is Tuesday already!

There was a huge weather sysytem moving thru yesterday...

Flooded a few major hwys down Burlington way...

The Burlington Skyway was shut from Thursday afternoon until last night...

Coming from Niagara to Toronto...

This skyway connects over the Hamilton harbour....1000's of people use this every single day...

It is on our route to the cottage...the inconvenience of it being closed, added about 1/2 hour to our trip...

It seems a DRUNK dump truck driver, had his dump part raised, and hit scaffolding on the skyway!!!

None seriously hurt...but...what an idiot!!

I think we should all be given his home address, so we can all go and give him a big old "boot to the head," for displaying such asinine behaviour!!

I hope they throw the book at him...the  repairs will be very costly, not to mention the 1000's of people he inconvenienced...

Climbing down from my soapbox now!

Enjoy your day....

Still expecting more rain here today...

                                 Cheers!   :o)

  1. We have had kooky weather too. Yesterday I swear it changed every five minutes... from torrential downpours to bright sunshine and everything in between. I was wandering an art expo and the poor vendors were having difficulty keeping everything strapped down and dry. Crazy! Love all the sunny yellow shades in this post - so bright.

      Do you grow yellow flowers?

    2. No - I don't have a garden. Should do something with my balcony but it's low on the list. We have a lovely little rooftop garden in our condo building and I enjoy that. My parents were great gardeners before they moved into a condo and I always enjoyed helping when I could.

    3. Well...that is good! Enjoy the rooftop!

  4. I am always drawn to yellow flowers. Your photos are beautiful. Sorry to hear about your drive home after having such a nice weekend. It's frightening to think that people still drink and drive. Moron! Glad you are home safe and sound. Crazy weather here, too all weekend. Today, nice and sunny. :) Deb

  6. The black eyed Susans are putting on a glorious show here too. I saw a huge field of them beside the Lowe's store and would love to get over the fence and dig some out ... if you hear on the news of an old lady climbing fences to steal flowers it will be me :)
Your begonias are fabulous too. Wondered if the closure of the Skyway bridge would affect your journey to the cottage.
All sorts of weather here all weekend. SIL cooked turkey on the bbq on Saturday ... and I didn't get any photos ... shame on me. He'll have to cook another one just for my camera :)

If they are growing in a field....they deserve to be pampered in our gardens!
BBQ turkey,eh? How was it? Did it take a long time?

  7. Love the new header, Linda.
You seem to have had plenty of variety in weather there within such a small time frame.
Love the photos as ever and the one of you..
That drunk dump truck driver was most fortunate to escape your 'boot to the head' - gosh!! Shakespeare was right when he said, "Hell hath no fury like a woman's scorn!" ROFL. My dad would have said to him, "Hell's teeth! You blithering idiot!" . . . . yes he used to actually say that!! . . . lol
    .
I've just written an ambulance story and making something to eat.
    Cheers ~ Eddie

  13. I can scarcely remember the weekend! Oh yeah, my sister and I went to see Columbus' ships in Rochester. It was gorgeous weather! Can't remember what it did later but I know it rained on Sunday night.
Black-eyed Susans are among my favorites too. Them and sweet peas, and I don't have either this year. But, I do have those lovely zinnias.
    :0)

  14. Nothing worse than a closed highway - or a drunk driver! When we were in a head-on car collision (totally not our fault, the young driver veered across the centre and right into us at high speed), the highway was blocked for 3-4 hours. We found out much later, and felt really bad for all those people whose day was held up, there being no alternate good alternate route available for them. At the time, we were taken to hospital oblivious of what was happening. Lovely yellow flowers, especially the black eyed Susans! xx
