From The Porch.....

It has been raining for most of the day....

Spent some time trying to start a crochet project...

Just can't seem to concentrate....

Stepped out onto the covered porch here.....about 20 minutes ago...

Still raining....

Though...

You can't see it in the pictures....

We had planned on going out for something to eat...

But...

Decided against it!

Too darn wet....and soggy....and getting colder...

They say we are to get the coldest temps here...

In over a year....

Bring it on!

I brought lots of sweaters!

Unfortunately....the rain continues....

Tomorrow.....

I took some sirloin burgers out of the freezer...

Fries for the oven...

Lots of toppings to dress them up...

I made a big pot of chicken soup this morning...

We both had a few mugs of that....delish!

I know that you guys are buried under tons of snow....

Suffering through sub zero temps....

But...

We did drive for 4 days....spent $...is it too much to ask....

For a bunch of warm sunny days in a row?

I think not......hahaha!

Plus....the CDN $ stinks right now....

Ok...

I am done....

Enjoy my rainy day pics...

Hope you had a great day...

Anything exciting?

What's cookin' in your kitchen this Tuesday evening?

Thanks for all your lovely birthday, Valentine and Family Day wishes...

Muchly appreciated by yours truly ♥️

Enjoy your evening...

            Cheers!  :o)

  1. Oh my dear pal. So not fair! I agree, it is one thing being at home and having rotten weather, but when you are on holiday you really do hope for good weather don't you. I hope that tomorrow will be better! xx

  2. Linda, it must be quite disappointing to go that far for some R&R in the sun and have rain and cool temperatures. I remember the year we went to Myrtle Beach in April and I nearly froze. It was nice enough but the wind off the Atlantic was a real turn off for me. Very disappointing. Friends of mine were to fly to Cuba on Sunday but ended up coming back home today as their flight out of Saint John was so delayed that they lost too much time. Now that would be disappointing!! Our power went out at around 3:30 this afternoon and we were going to go to a pancake supper at a local church but the power was off there. There was a supper at another church too but their power was also out. LOL So we went up the highway to a truckstop restaurant that is always good. Needless to say it was busy but we got there before the rush. A lot of folks had the same idea. I got word through Facebook that the power came back on at about 6 so we finished and came home. Not too bad. It was a nice winter day here finally. I hope this cold yucky weather moves north - way up north. Take care. xx Pam

  3. Sorry Linda it is such a washout . . .
After all that driving and expense . . . so disappointing.
We used to get this when we were kids and went caravanning with my parents to the Lake District.
It always rained and my mum used to say, "Fancy driving all this way to sit in a wet field!"
But with Florida it should be so different ~ it is supposed to be warm and sunny . . .
    Hope it breaks for the better for you . . . fingers crossed . . . . :)

  8. Well you have five weeks, yes? So hopefully things will improve soon - holidays are supposed to co-operate with us, aren't they? We are still shivering away... I have a ton of errands I have to do but it's very difficult to negotiate a cane with the ice. I need a butler!

  9. Oh Linda, this brings back some wonderful memories. In fact, this year I must plan a trip. I used to go every year to the Outer Banks of North Carolina. The best time was either March or November. Yes, cold times but less people. The ex and I would take the four wheel out onto the shore, where he'd fish or hunt down shells, while I sketched. I loved it. I can look at your photos and feel that air, smell that air, and taste that salt. Thank you. I do hope you get the sunshine you want.(smile)

  10. Hang in there until the weekend, then you should be okay for the rest of your stay. Just call me the weather specialist, ha, ha. Dinner here was salmon fillets, roasted beets and butternut squash. Your chicken soup sounded yummy, hope you're recuperating from your nasty sinusitis. Take care....

  11. Oh rats Linda!!! First you were feeling so rotten, and now the sun refuses to shine! What???? Perhaps you should have come to California?
I hope the rain goes through and leaves you witty warm sun for the rest of your trip!
Also, a very Happy Birthday to you! Belated, I see. I had to go back and read to see when it was. I have not been on my computer much. I know you were not feeling too chipper. Hope you get to celebrate soon. Love ya

  12. You just never know what the weather will be like when you go on vacation. That's the risk you take going away. You can only hope for the best and be prepared for the worst, as you are, with warm sweaters. It will warm up. It always does! Dinner here was homemade chili, baked potato for hubby and salad for me!
