One of the first things I did after getting home...
Was...fill up my bird feeders...
It took a day...but...soon...they started to show up...
There were also Nuthatches and Chickadees...
But they were so skittish...even though I was inside...
I captured a few shots...
But...definitely blurry...will keep at it, and get some good shots!!
It wasn't long before...
the STARS of the show, turned up...
"I see you there Mr Cardinal...yes...right there...behind the Lilac bush"
He moved in...
And made sure everything was all AOK for the Mrs...♥️
"Ok...my dear...go ahead...have a nice meal...I'll keep watch for that crazy
lady in the window...Geesh...enough with the pictures already..."
Of course...
There could not be a feeding time, that dear little RED...doesn't show up!!!
He got a lovely meal of pear and apple cores.....
YUMMY!!
Hope you are all having a great day...
Still blustery...sunny...cold!!
Got some cleaning done today...freshened things up!
Picked up a few Easter goodies today...and some new yarn for an Easter project for Miss V...I better get crackin' on that one!!
Taking it nice and slow in the kitchen today...
Scrambled eggs, turkey bacon, hash browns for dinner...
With a few sliced tomatoes on the side...
What's cookin',boilin',bakin' or roastin' in your kitchen today??
Enjoy the rest of your day...
I have a big mug of Apple Cinnamon Tea made...
Think I'll see if I can get a start on that crochet, before dinner...
Cheers! :o)

ReplyDeleteHere the birds ate a lot of peats and apples omy ...and the grapes.Today I remember we have some grapes but I noticed the birds enjoyed eating almost all grapes!
Hugs!
Oh dear!
DeleteDid they leave anything for you, Gloria?
You need to bake something with the apples.....
Yes apples still I have lol
DeleteI made an apple crumble, you want see when you has time!
I did see it...
Deletelooks scrumptious!!
It doesn't take long for the birds to return when we have been away even as long as you were. It looks like Red survived without your food too. I wonder who else is feeding him? :) We have had dozens of birds the past several days due to the storms. They are so hungry. Supper tonight will be ham, rice and a veggie. Enjoy your evening.
ReplyDeleteSounds delicious Pam....do you ever make scalloped potatoes with your ham?
DeleteI love that combination.....
Lovely photos ! I knew they were waiting for you to come home lol ! Supper sounds YUMMY ! We are having chicken burgers with salad nothing fancy lol ! Thanks for sharing , Have a good day !
ReplyDeleteYou know that burgers are my VERY favorite!
DeleteThink we'll have that on the weekend.....yum!
I love watching the birdy activity in the garden...almost as much as the cats do!
ReplyDeleteWhat's cooking? Cashew and mushroom roast for dinner tonight...it smells lovely,so Chris had better not be working too late this evening!
Jane x
Oh, I am sure Chris won't miss that!
ReplyDeleteAre you gluten free as well, Jane....or just vegan....I am trying to cut back on the gluten here.....it is in everything!
Except......veggies, fruit and some meats....
I'm hard core vegan!
DeleteJane x
So.....gluten free?
DeleteNot gluten free.
DeleteJane x
ok...my Son has become a vegan recently...he doesn't eat anything with eyes!
DeleteOh, I can't wait to see what you are making for Miss V's Easter prize! Dinner sounds delish! We are having our corned beef and cabbage one day late... Just too pooped at the end of the day (and too late) yesterday. Don't you just love seeing the birds!? blessings ~ tanna
ReplyDeleteBe patient Tanna....I just got started! Hahaha!
DeleteI will show you after a few days work....
Better late than never! Hope it is delicious!
Yes....I do love the birds♥️
We have so many squirrels..that the birds..don't get much..once the little water features are operational..we get many more. One ancient tree..I had a finch feeder hanging from wire..the squirrels couldn't get to it..I loved all the finches..we had to have the tree taken down..What a void!
ReplyDeleteThese ancient trees leave such blank spaces:(
Sunny and frigid here today.
I dehoarded my craft room..still needs..work.
Your squirrel pic is formidable.
I've started Easter too;)
Perhaps buy a double hook that goes in the ground for the finch feed....
DeleteThe squirrels don't like Nyger seed anyway!
Always sad to lose trees....we have HUGE ones at the cottage....always worry in big wind storms....
Good job on the craft room.....I need to organize some fabrics I bought....
Happy Easter shopping!
Love your new banner.
ReplyDeleteThanks Ivy.....heard a few Robins, but haven't seen any yet!
DeleteOh, that Red is a character. He must know he is a big part of this blog. The Starlings showed up at my feeders today. I'll have to read up on them as I'm not sure if they go South in the winter. I hung up a suet case full of short pieces of scrap wool this morning for the birds to use in their nests. I think I might have some colour in my trees this Spring. :) Dinner sounds delish as usual. I've started picking up a few things for Easter, too. I love to get the wee ones new books for their baskets.
ReplyDeleteHe'll be asking for a salary soon! Hahaha!
DeleteI usually get the Starlings in the fall.....they eat the berries on my Ivy....
Great idea for the wool scraps....they say dark colours are the best....not to draw too much attention to the nests....
Good idea with the book for the basket...I got her some stickers so far....
Actually...I think I'll crochet her a basket!
It sure doesn't look like Red was neglected over the winter! haha... What a chubby guy he is! Very cute photo....
ReplyDeleteI think he was eating all the pinecones from my big pine tree!
DeleteHe has been crazy today....running along the fence line!
Red looks well fed . .
ReplyDeleteNice shots of the birds and red of course . . . he looks a cheeky little thing . . . perhaps you should call him Ed . . . :)
Hi Eddie....
DeleteHe is darn cheeky....Red Ed.....I like the sound of that! Or.......Red Eddie! Awww yes.....perfect!
lol . . . . been and done it now . . . looks like I'm stuck with Red Eddie . . . Steady on . . . hahaha
DeleteYes seeing Peter tomorrow . . . we'll have to see what fun that brings . . . enjoy your day with Miss V . . . :)
Will do! Red Eddie! Hahaha!
DeleteHmm...that's why I haven't seen you at S.Common, you're having too much fun getting resettled at home. Not intended to make you feel guilty, ha, ha. My BF made burgers on the BBQ, beef for him, chicken for me. We also had roasted brussel sprouts with olive oil and maple syrup, very yummy. Take care and enjoy...
ReplyDeleteYup....busy getting settled in!
DeleteLove love love burgers....
Think I'll put that on the weekend menu!
I like your furbird.
ReplyDelete:0)
You mean Red Eddie? Hahaha!
DeleteWhat's all that white stuff in the pics? I may vaguely remember it around here, but it was a long, long time ago. teehee
ReplyDeleteHa!
DeleteI vaguely remember the white sandy beach.......hmmmmmmm....
Love Mr. Cardinal making way for the Missus - chivalry lives!
ReplyDeleteAwww, Red - he's my favourite. So darn cute. Maybe he was in a frenzy on your fence today to show how happy he is that you've returned. :-)
Nothing cookin', boilin', baking or roastin' in my kitchen because I was at a girlfriend's for dinner. The one who is near Royal York and the Queensway. For appetizers we had apple martinis, amazing organic ham and organic cheese with crackers, baby carrots, celery and hummus. Then for dinner we had a lovely mesclun salad, basmati rice and salmon fillets with a creamy dill sauce. Sooooooo good. No room for dessert but we did have a smattering of chocolates. I am stuffed!
Oh yeah - and white wine with dinner. :-)
DeleteWOW! That sounds like a great meal, you social butterfly, you!
DeleteGood lord, don't ever forget the wine! Hahaha!
Have a great day Suzanne.....
Hi Linda -- Just FYI, I answered your "Ask Me Anything" question over at my blog today! (Thurs Mar 19)
ReplyDeletedone!
DeleteI also love to take care of my feathered friends. It brings me great joy to watch their antics!!! I wish we had some of those gorgeous Cardinals!!
ReplyDeleteXO Kris
They are beautiful aren't they Kris...
DeleteDid your Orioles come back??
