Cottage Bits & Bobs....

Another wierd weather pattern at the cottage last weekend. Lets start at the beginning...My Tiger Lilies were few this year, as the Lily Beetles destroyed most of them. I just can't keep up with them! This year they were particularily destructive...perhaps all the rain...I am loving the White Yarrow...It really pops out! and is very drought resistant!!The Geese like it too!!
More Tomatoes, which we ate right out of the bowl! My boyfriend always finds beach glass...so smart!! The Golden Glow are framing my wee walkway to the deck, and the White Geraniums are still budding! It was so cloudy on Saturday...that I pulled out my crochet...and we relaxed for most of the afternoon...this huge cloud came from behind the cottage, and out over the lake. After dinner, it was nice and calm, so we decided to fire up the bonfire, as it was getting pretty high!! The sun was reflecting under the clouds all the way to the East, where there is a provincial park, Long Beach...
Sunday morning brought bright sunshine...and lots of people on the water...

Hope you are all having a great day...
Lovely here...but a bit of humidity building in...
Boyfriend..Son.. and SIL are gone to the Blue Jay game...they are almost in first place!! Just need to sweep this series with Oakland and then they play the Yankees over the weekend...

                                          GO JAYS GO!!!

My daughter Lissa is on her way here...
We are going to have egg salad sandwiches...YUM!!
And then hit HOMESENSE and WINNERS!!
Looking for something nice and new and unique and fabulous!!
Wish us luck!!

Enjoy your day and your weekend...
Any special plans??
Thanks for all your lovely comments on my post about Miss V♥️
You are swell peeps!!

                 Cheers!  :o)

When we bought the cottage, there was one perennial bed along the west side....
I dug every bed you see.....and planted every last plant!

  3. I love seeing all your pictures of the cottage. It's so relaxing. I like to pretend I'm there with you. Is that strange? I guess is relaxing by proxy. Ha, ha. You made me want to go find some geraniums for my house. They would look great in my planter.

  10. The lily beetle loves the orange tiger lily along with martagon lilies more than any others. I have both, and must have killed at least 60 beetles this year - you need to catch them before they hatch their eggs which grow into large orange grubs covered in black slime. Last year I must have killed about 200 so I feel as if I might be winning. It makes me sound a bit sadistic but I love my lilies more than the beetles.

    1. Oh me too Rosemary!
Some of the plants were reduced to a frail holey stalk...such a shame....I usually have an orange sea of Tiger Lilies....this year....hardly a wave. :o(
