Today was spent running around...
Nothing too much accomplished...
A few groceries...
A "Deck Warming" gift...
A few bits and bobs for Miss V ♥️..
And...after returning home...in the humidity and dullness...
I decided I should have a hot cup of Apple Cinnamon Tea and a Yellow Delicious apple...
While my tea was brewing...My eye caught the 2 apples and 2 pears I had purchased...the pears are called Forelle...aren't they looking scrumptuous with their lovely blushing cheeks! I will have to wait a few days to enjoy those babies!! As I looked out the window, I loved seeing all my Rose of Sharon in bloom...and...I noticed my Limelight Hydrangea had a few blooms on it...took a picture thru the window, then decided to go out there and have a closer look...they are so glorious...I wish I would get more blooms!! It is in its 3rd year, and I still only get 3-4 blooms...I guess I should be grateful for those...instead of complaining...
When I returned inside...my tea was ready...apple all sliced up...so I took to the couch for a half hour or so...enjoyed my tea...and did a wee bit of crochet!!
We were supposed to get some rain today...instead...just clouds...
The humidity is still with us, but doesn't feel as bad, without the sunshine...
I am pleased to say, that I will have the night off from the kitchen tonight...
My boyfriend is out with a longtime friend, who is in from Denmark...
They have worked together for at least 20 years...
But as the business has expanded...he travels to different countries now...
But he made a point of stopping in Toronto overnite, so he and boyfriend could spend some time together..
We haven't seen him for a few years...they are visiting a few of their older customers...
And then...We will all go out for dinner!!
Not sure where...but honestly...no problem!! hahaha!
It will be nice to see Chris again...he is a lovely person...
So...what have you been up to today...
How is your weather??
We will have Miss V tomorrow...:o)
Enjoy the rest of your day!!
Cheers! :o)

Oh it's hot, hot, hot here!! I'm sitting in my darkened home with windows, blinds and curtains pulled to keep the heat out and a floor fan twirling around to help keep me cool. It's so nice to have this hot weather the past week and I love it but when in this humidity it's best not to move too much.....so I sit. :) Had 2 day trips the past few days - St. Andrews and Fundy Natonal Park - both cooler than here! I love your limelight hydrangea! What a gorgeous colour it is. I have company coming tomorrow - my sister-in-law, her daughter and grandson. Hubs is on a quick trip to Winnipeg today and back very late tomorrow night! Have a nice dinner out! xxxx Pam
ReplyDeleteSounds like a great week, Pam...
DeleteWe went to The Keg....yummy!
Sounds like a good day! Hope that you enjoy the not cooking dinner! You have a wonderful view out over your garden from that lovely big window. You must enjoy sitting there and looking out. xx
ReplyDeleteI do Amy...even in the Winter, with the birds and Red!
DeleteNice photos, Linda. I agree that we should be thankful for whatever blooms are out there now. It's very obvious that things are winding down. I'm still enjoying glads and morning glories and my begonias never disappoint. Everything else looks a little tired but I am still pampering them. My favorite flower this summer was the Lemon Symphony. I'll purchase more of them next spring. I am getting busy again with my little business and of course we are always busy with the property. It has been so hot that I am now looking forward to the Fall. No kidding. I'm done with summer. Deb
ReplyDeleteI hear 'ya Deb....I think I will buy a few new pots of flowers, to go into Fall...
DeleteWhat is the Lemon Symphony? Pictures please!
Don't say you're done with Summer.....not yet!
Beautiful pears and apples! Miss V love apples???

ReplyDeleteWell.....we do need the rain.....I guess!

crafted..a lot..
Enveloped some things for posting..
walked Ray..
watched our $ decline..what's up w/ that and my Amazon.com..Cheap Joe's wish list?
and read..
J is in charge of dinner..baked home fries..baked seasoned fresh green beans..and Costco Italian sausage..apparently we are never buying it again..he reads all the info..way too much salt.
Love your crochet..need to learn.
Don't even talk about the $! Florida is going to be very pricey next February!
DeleteCome on over...I'll teach you crochet!
I'll bet your crafting was beautiful....
Beautiful display of fruit . . . delish.
ReplyDeleteGreat you b/f is meeting with his good friend.
You asked what we were doing today ~ visiting my lovely new grand daughter, Rosa, details on my new post . . . :)
Quite a day . . . :)
Hi Eddie.....
DeleteYou win! You had a perfect day!
Quite a day, indeed!
Hi Linda, looks like you have a beautiful yard and your hydrangea is beautiful. I need a night off from cooking every once in a while myself, sometimes I will have cheese n crackers and a salad. Take care!
ReplyDeleteHi Cheri.....thanks for stopping by!
DeleteDinner out was great!
You had a good day. Love the limelight hydrangea and the rose of sharon blooms. I've got a small one growing but it isn't ready for blooms yet. I started another yarn project so will work on that a bit tonight. I just came in from watering the plants and it seems to have cooled a bit, well maybe not cooled down, but some of the humidity has gone. Had a nice quiche and spinach salad for dinner.
ReplyDeleteGreat day.....delicious dinner!
DeleteWe went to The Keg!
It's still hot! But, we did get some rain. Woo Hoo! And, glory be...I've been canning tomatoes. I've got one more batch to put through the water bath. It's a lot of work, but so worth it. Love your limelights! Have a nice dinner with your friend.
ReplyDeleteThat is a lot of work, Laurie! Are you gonna blog about it? I guess the taste makes it all worthwhile, eh?
DeleteWe had a lovely dinner....thxs!
I love the way your photos of a simple apple or mug of tea look so inviting. Beautiful Rose of Sharon, ours is also blooming in the backyard and our Helianthus are lovely but so full of bumblebees. Nice that you were out for dinner, enjoy the little cutie tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteI have a few Helianthus, but they got a touch of mold...leaves are shrivelling...too much rain, I guess!
DeleteYay for the Bees!
Will do Hester!
Today? Been to the art gallery, and conducted a tour for some overseas visitors. Very enjoyable, and they liked to see the indigenous works. Your golden pears and apples look so attractive, almost too nice to eat, and I'm still loving your pair of green chairs outside there :)
ReplyDeleteWell...la te dah! hahaha!
DeleteWe have about 10 of those at the cottage...very comfortable!
Yum to your pears and apples. I have been feasting on Quebec strawberries this week and some nice plums. So good.
ReplyDeleteWas out for great Italian food again tonight. Lovely meal with a lovely friend.
Hope your Keg meal was tasty and that you enjoyed time with your friend. You deserve a dinner break!
Have fun with Miss V!
Our meal was fabulous...as always!
DeleteWhere will have lunch when we get together???
Perhaps you know someplace near Sherway...I can pick you up at the Port Credit go station!
Or...perhaps a cute place in Port Credit! it is a quaint village!
Well you probably know the area much better than I and I'm game for anything! Oooh, would love to go to Port Credit - good idea. It's charming.
DeletePretty sure my friend Hester could help me out!
DeleteA nice Fall lunch is in order!
Stay tuned!
