It sure seems like longer than a week, since we were at the cottage...
What a crazy busy week it has been since then...
We will go tomorrow...
Clean out the fridge...
Drain the water lines...
Give her a hug...
And wish her a good winters nap...
I will miss her sooo much...
We will visit almost weekly...
But...
It is not the same...
As...
Planning the weekend menu...
Putting fresh linens on the bed...
Sweeping everything clean...
Watering the thirsty flowers...
Planning the days events...
Waiting for company to arrive...
Investigating the ever changing beach...
Catching up with neighbours...
Oh well...
Before I know it...
It will be Spring...
And...
Time to wake her up...
For...yet...
Another glorious Season at the cottage...♥️
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hope all my American peeps had a lovely Thanksgiving...
Weather yesterday must have been perfect...
Today...
Not so much...
Still warm...at 15*c...
But...a strong wind and rain...makes it feel a lot colder...
Boyfriend and I went out for a very delicious lunch...
I had a burger...it was excellent!!
We are spending a quiet afternoon...he is on antibiotics :o(
I have watered all my indoor flower friends...
He is watching American football...
I think I will do some crochet...making a wee toque for a friends new granddaughter♥️
Enjoy the rest of your day...
I will take pictures tomorrow at the cottage...
Have a great weekend...
Cheers! :o)
It's still 15* down there? Sweet!
ReplyDeleteToday was cooler...but the next 2 weeks are above seasonal! Yippee!
DeleteThese are glorious "goodbye" photos, Linda. I love the ones with the waning light. So atmospheric.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your last hurrah!
Well....we did NOT close her down...decided the weather was still good....yippee!
DeleteOMG! I love all your cottage shots. Your fireplace is gorgeous! I'm drooling over it. I can see why you love fires so much. Hope she has a nice winters nap. Take care, stay warm!
ReplyDeleteRum he cooler today...she is still open!
DeletePerhaps another sleepover!
I wonder what your cottage does when you are not there? Maybe she has tea parties for the sea creatures. That could be made into a children's story!
ReplyDeleteI think she waits for me to return....:o)
DeleteThat is one loved cottage, Linda. What a beautiful fire-place it has, too.
ReplyDeleteThanks Deb....I do love it!
DeleteHope you are doing better...
I bet your cottage will miss you as much as you miss it :) I imagine it's quite lonely without all that love.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely Martha....
DeleteBeautiful photos...love those puffy clouds! Good night, sweet cottage...enjoy your winter's nap!
ReplyDeleteThe still has her eyes open! I spoke too soon.....
DeleteIt's very bittersweet, isn't it? We would visit our lakehouse maybe three times between January and March. A nice fire and some good meals, but it would be desolate and other than bundling up for a few walks, reading or a visit to a warm restaurant, we seemed to get a little stir crazy.
ReplyDeleteWe are in for some cold weather, too. We are heading north to Wisconsin to meet some friends in a sweet little town for some Christmas shopping and merry making! It will be in the 30's so I'm bundling up!!
Have a great weekend. Wishing The Boyfriend healing vibes.
It is pretty desolate out at our lake too...in the dead of winter...unless it is a sunny day!
DeleteDidn't close her down....more visits to come!
Boyfriend doing better....thanks!
Lovely cosy cottage pictures, Linda. The idea of having to close up a house for the season is quite unknown to us, with our warmer climate. When we stayed at the lake cottage in Canada in May this year, I was intrigued to hear that we were the first visitors for 2015, the cottage having been closed down over the winter. You will miss your pretty cottage, but at least you can visit to check on her :)
ReplyDeleteYes....a way of life here...must be nice to have warm weather all year...
DeleteIt just seems like yesterday you were opening up the cottage for the season, time just goes by so fast. It was a rainy day yesterday, stayed home, did some cleaning, some cooking, some crochet and other things. Enjoy the visit this weekend, savour the moment and take lots of photos.
ReplyDeleteI know! I wish it was Spring already...well....except for Christmas, Florida and my birthday! Hahaha!
DeleteI took a few photos....water was calm!
could almost hear the crackle and snap of the fire!
ReplyDeletea lovely post.
may she rest well and safe this winter and be ready for her busy life again in the spring!
Absolutely Tammy....but just not quite yet!
DeleteI emailed you....
If you hibernate the time will go even quicker and then you can sleep over in the cottage again ... . . the photos look great and I love the cottage fire . . . . :)
ReplyDeleteHi Eddie....
DeleteHibernate,eh? Sounds like a plan....
I would love to have a cottage like that and decorate it for Christmas with that lovely fireplace . Hope the boyfriend gets better soon . Lovely photos . Thanks for sharing , Have a good day !
ReplyDeleteYes...I have often thought of that too,Elaine!
DeleteI really like the photo of the stained glass lamp and the late afternoon sun peeking in the room. Yes, before you know it it will be spring again. Too bad we have to get through all the snowy, windy, rainy, cold weather first but this is Canada eh? lol I hope you had a good weekend at the cottage as you say good bye to another season. xx Pam
ReplyDeleteThanks Pam....that is my grandmothers lamp...I love it!
DeleteCatching up seems like it is taking me forever . . .
ReplyDeleteI wondered if you checked on the cottage after you closed "her" for sleepovers during the winter . . .
Lovely times you have had these past weeks . . .
"She" will be waiting wit more memories come springtime . . .
Hi Lynne....
DeleteShe is still alive and kicking! A few more weeks, til she sleeps!
Your posts are not arriving to me for some strange reason...lovely little love letter to your cottage this is.
DeleteHi Monique...
DeleteShe deserves it!
Hopefully another evening there this year...
I always find fall a sad time, like a little death I always think. Things die, end, are over for another year. You know the cottage will be there when spring arrives in all its glory. Sleep tight, cottage.
ReplyDeleteIt can be sad...the warmer weather is over...the flowers die...the leaves fall...
DeleteCottage hears you...and thinks....hmmm...where has Devon been...I miss her♥️
I don't celebrate American Thanksgiving but your turkey looked good from your last post. Sorry you're done with the cottage for now. See ya next spring and Happy Christmas.
ReplyDeleteNot closed yet....more fun to come!
DeleteI think I love the cottage too, especially with a crackling fire to warm my toes by.
ReplyDeleteNext summer I'm going to meet her.
:0)
She would be thrilled :o)
DeleteAnd....so would I!
