Icy Visit To The Cottage......

As you can see...
Our last visit to the cottage...
Was...
A rather icy one...
I guess the winds had been high during the week...
And formed some rather impressive ice bergs along the shoreline...
It wasn't really all that cold this day...4c...not too bad...
And not really a lot of snow either...
We thought there would be more...
The sun was trying hard to peek through...
Always happy for a visit...

Hope you all had a great weekend...
Most of our snow melted on Friday...
Saturday was brutally cold...
Sunday also very cold...as is today...
Small blizzards keep blowing through...
But...in between...lots of sunshine!!

Due to the lack of photography at this time of year...

I am going to start ending my posts with a few Summery photos...

A few of my favorites...

Hope you enjoy them...

You all may remember this Begonia from last Summer...
I absolutely adored this flower...
There is a Nursery near the cottage, and they really have beautiful Begonias...
This year...MORE Begonias!!

My daughter Lissa gave me this sweet laughing Pig for the garden many years ago...
Whenever I see him...I have to smile...how cute is he??

This was a favorite planter of mine at the cottage...
Unfortunately...
It went missing during some very high waves...
It was made of tin...sad to see it gone!!
Love the arrangement of White Nicotiana...
Mauve Cosmos and Purple African Daisies...
Must do this combo again this Summer...

Well...that was refreshing...did you enjoy the flowers??
I certainly did...nothing much colourful around here for a while now...

Enjoy the rest of your day...

                            Cheers!  :o)

                              linda ♥️

  1. We're having a bit of Lake effect weather today.
The sky to the south was bright and sunny, but the clouds to our north were dark and heavy with snow. Both were gorgeous but I had left my camera safe at home.
It would have been a good day to stay home in my snow globe.

    2. Duty calls. You know how it gors...
      The drive in was uneventful.
We'll see how the drive home goes.
It should provide a little more excitement, I think.

  2. I really like that photo of the boyfriend on the snow. That's a frame-worthy one. That birdhouse sure looks sad in the cold snow. Won't it be nice to see it become a home to a needy bird next spring. Glad to see you enjoyed the blueberry muffin recipe. I often make it into a loaf, too, but never tried buttermilk. I'll try that. It's so good with tea, isn't it. Winter chill has arrived here. Tonight with the wind-chill it will reach -30C. Ahhhhh! Just back from spending time with little Gwynn. She's such a fun kid. :))) Have a great evening, Linda. Hugs, Deb

  3. Those icy photos just make me feel colder! Brr! That's how it is here, too..with breaks of cold sunshine in between the frosty wind and flakes. It's blown so much, though, that the ground is just dusted with it.

I loved that begonia of yours, too. Did you not bring that one inside?

  4. The lake pictures look so cold it makes me wonder how it will ever be warm and sunny again. But! There are the flowers that always means spring is not far away and winter is not endless.

  5. Just looking at those pictures made me feel cold. Thanks for the beautiful flowers at the end to warm me up. Especially that begonia.

Right now it is 24*F (-4*C) and it feels like 11*F (-12*C). That is cold! The highest it will get this week is 39*F (4*C) on Wednesday and Thursday and I am looking forward to that. I guess it finally is winter. So glad I don't have to go out in this. Sorry you lost your cute little flower holder. I hope you can find another.
