My Love Affair With Berries....♥️

Last week I was fortunate enough...

To purchase some Strawberries grown in Florida...

I find...at this time of year...the berries from Florida...

Are THE best around!!

No offense to California...{a truly amazing State}...

But...for my money...in these Spring months...

Florida wins...for me!

I am never without a bowl of mixed berries...

Our Miss V loves them as well...so I like to keep them on hand ♥️

 There is nothing...like...sharing a few berries...with yogurt...and cake...

And...of course...a delightful cup of Tea!

I have shared many a bowl and cup with friends...

And...hope to do more in the future...

                                             "Berries and Tea Anyone?"....

Hope you are all having a great day...

Kinda bland here...spotty sunshine...those ridiculous winds again!!

Cleaning out drawers and ate a big bowl of my...

Skinny Beef...Vegetable and Barley soup...yum!

Sure hits the spot on these gloomy days...

Potatoes are boiling...beef simmering...

Gonna build a Shepherds Pie for dinner tonight...

And some fresh green beans alongside...

Nothing like comfort food, eh??

And...I do believe one of these....

Because I still have plenty of this!!

Enjoy the rest of your Tuesday...

I am so glad that a few of you have made the bread/cake I featured last week...

Thanks for your feedback! Seems you can make it with any kind of berry...

Surprise...surprise!   Berries rule! hahaha!

I must share Miss V and I planting her seeds last week...so funny!

And...you should see them...not even a week later!!

Wait until she sees them tomorrow...I can just hear her now...

                       "Whaaaaaaat?"....tee hee hee!

                         Cheers!    :o)

                              linda ♥️

  3. When our grandson visited from BC he wanted berries, berries, berries all the time. Thank goodness it was summer and there were local ones around.
A mixed day here, sun, rain, wet snow, wind. I was outside for awhile then rushed in as the rain started, now the sun is out again. Glad Miss V had fun planting seeds, a future gardener.

  12. Yes, you definitely post such lovely food photos! I discovered that raspberries and blackberries are a really low price at "Food Basics" this week. They're not super quality, but my BF uses them to make food smoothies for his breakfast. Have fun with little cutie tomorrow, I'll look forward to seeing the planting photos. :)

    1. Thanks for the tip! I will get my boyfriend to pick some up!
He does no frills and food basics!
I will get to work on those photos....right after I finish crocheting this HUGE afghan! I only have a couple of weeks to finish!

    2. Ohh, that's why I saw the BF in the parking lot of No Frills a while ago, he's a wise shopper! :) You're so multi talented, Ms. Linda. I'm not patient enough to be a crocheter, I'd rather see live theatre...

    3. I think I could crochet, while watching live theatre! hahaha!
Crochet is not that difficult...I retaught Devon!
Enjoy your day! The sun is shining! Guess I will be at the park after lunch :o)

  18. That salad looks goooood! I love avocado, and berries too. We all do!! Strawberries look delish, and berry cake, very nice. Most of our berries have to be bought frozen, too hot here to grow them most of the year.

    1. We can only grow them in the summer...do the fresh not get imported?? OR...too far...

  19. I love berries, too. I have them almost every day. Sometimes just mixed fresh berries with a little cottage cheese, or yogurt (sometimes a sprinkle of granola or sunflower seeds on top too), or frozen blueberries in a smoothie, or berries with oatmeal in the morning. I'm really looking forward to my own strawberries producing even more this year! -Jenn

  20. Mmmm....so much colour. I love berries too and found a pack of California strawberries on Monday that were reduced in price and really quite tasty. There is nothing like fresh local berries though and I certainly look forward to them in the summer months. I wish the imported ones weren't so expensive and they often spoil before we get to enjoy them all which is a waste. Your basil plant looks so healthy Linda. Did you grow it all winter indoors? There is a fresh herb company in our area called Sweet Valley Herbs and they supply a lot of stores and garden centres in the Maritimes. I buy a basil plant every year and enjoy it on salmon and in salads. Can't wait!! We're getting some spotty sun here today after the downpour of yesterday. Enjoy the day. xx Pam

We had sunshine today...still a bit chilly!
