Afghan Reveal.......

This was how it all started...

Last February...while we were South, I got busy...

2 1/2 months later...

The fruits of my labour...

I made one giant Granny Square....

Changing colours as I wanted to...

I decided on a simple edging...several rows of single and half double crochet...

I think next time...I will use the ball until it runs out, and then change colour...

I think this might give it a very interesting look...

I toyed with making pompoms for the corners...

But settled on HUGE tassels...what do you think??

I gave it to Lissa on Wednesday...Miss V was there to join in the festivities!

You can get a better idea of the size...Lissa loved the tassels! ♥️

I slipped a pack of Reeses Peanut Butter Cups in with her gifts...

Did you know they were gluten-free?  One of the few treats she can have...

Miss V thought she should have some too!!

So...I was very pleased to be finished...

Now...onto the next project...

                                            ************

Today is my only son's birthday...

Isn't he a sweetie? In his Winnie The Pooh jammies...

And his Tommy Tippee cup? remember those??

                         ****HAPPY BIRTHDAY RYAN****

Hope you all had a great week...

This weather is starting to get on my nerves!!!

Cold.....damp....windy....GEESH!!

What happened to SPRING???

We are off to the cottage this morning...supposed to be wet...

Nice on Saturday though....YAY!!

                Have a great weekend everyone...

                        Cheers!   :o)

  2. LOVE those tassels, Linda and the afghan as well:) Marion always puts pom poms on her finished blankets. I've never seen tassels before. Very cool!

This weather is so crazy. Well, at least we've gotten some rain but the chill at night is preventing the garden from popping! Soon:)

Happy birthday to your son. Mothers and Sons, ah...I do remember those sippy cups, lol...I wonder if the kids do?

Thanks for sharing, Linda...enjoy your weekend...

  17. The afghan is lovely, having just taught myself at 69 to crochet I can appreciate all the work you have put into this lovely gift. I knitted a small baby blanket & needed to crochet the edges (hence the tutorial from you tube). I have been knitting since I was 11 years old & I can't believe how clumsy I am holding the crochet hook but I did enjoy the finished look so I'm going to have another go. Any tips for beginners?
