This was how it all started...
Last February...while we were South, I got busy...
2 1/2 months later...
The fruits of my labour...
I made one giant Granny Square....
Changing colours as I wanted to...
I decided on a simple edging...several rows of single and half double crochet...
I think next time...I will use the ball until it runs out, and then change colour...
I think this might give it a very interesting look...
I toyed with making pompoms for the corners...
But settled on HUGE tassels...what do you think??
I gave it to Lissa on Wednesday...Miss V was there to join in the festivities!
You can get a better idea of the size...Lissa loved the tassels! ♥️
I slipped a pack of Reeses Peanut Butter Cups in with her gifts...
Did you know they were gluten-free? One of the few treats she can have...
Miss V thought she should have some too!!
Now...onto the next project...
************
Today is my only son's birthday...
Isn't he a sweetie? In his Winnie The Pooh jammies...
And his Tommy Tippee cup? remember those??
****HAPPY BIRTHDAY RYAN****

DeleteSaturday was great...Friday was rainy...I did a LOT of cleaning inside...
Vivuted our son today...♥️
It is beautiful! How many hours do you think it takes you to make an afghan that size?
ReplyDeleteOh gosh....hundreds!! No idea Barbara...took me over 2 months...
DeleteThe afghan is lovely, having just taught myself at 69 to crochet I can appreciate all the work you have put into this lovely gift. I knitted a small baby blanket & needed to crochet the edges (hence the tutorial from you tube). I have been knitting since I was 11 years old & I can't believe how clumsy I am holding the crochet hook but I did enjoy the finished look so I'm going to have another go. Any tips for beginners?
ReplyDeleteHi Barbara...and welcome!
Deletetips??? Start out small...get comfortable with your hook and wool....enjoy!!
Such a talented lady! Cute photo of Ryan, lots of nostalgia. Windy and cool here today in Long Island, NY, supposed to warm up a bit tomorrow. Hope your Lake Eerie area brings you sunshine and warmth tomorrow. Have fun and take care. :)
