A Few Feathered Friends......

I have been doing some bird watching the last few days, thru my kitchen window...
I was so pleased to see the pair of Mourning Doves...have not seen them for a very long time...
The Sparrows are always plentiful...and adorable...
Mr and Mrs Cardinal are regulars!!

The Chick-a-dee-dee-dees are also about, but they eluded my camera this past while...love to see them at the feeders...

The feather is at the beach at the cottage...wonder what kind of bird lost it???
Most probably a Seagull...so beautiful where it lands...

Pretty quiet around here lately...
We are getting snow and freezing rain today...😳
And...the big winds are returning overnite...
Tomorrow morning should be particularly nasty!

I have a meatloaf ready for the oven...a Yam and some beets!
Time to get my crochet hook out!
I made a hat for Miss V yesterday...and I have started another afghan...
Love crochet!!

Hope you are all well...and surviving the winter...
Some areas have had sooo much snow, and we were practically snowless until this morning...

Temps on the rise again...and then the big drop on the weekend...
Feels like a pattern!!

I went to fitness this am...and had coffee with the gals...

I got a shot of the Moon on Sunday night...
Don't think it will be visible tonight!!

  Enjoy your evening my friends...

             Cheers!  :o)

  6. We had snow and freezing rain today too. It was still snow when I got to work and by the time I got out it had changed to rain. My windows were glazed with a loose coating of ice which came off with ease. I wonder what tomorrow will bring?

Love your feathered friends. I stopped putting seed out on account of The Naughties. Feels cruel to lure birds and small feathered animals into my yard to be ambushed by a cat or two.

  7. Hello to Mr and Mrs Cardinal, you gorgeous things. Big drop for you this weekend, and big hot for us - 39c predicted, which is just Not Fair. I love chickadees too, but they are so hard to catch with the camera. You are very good at bird pics Linda. Happy days.

  9. Love all the feathery shots but particularly the one of Mrs. Cardinal. She just looks so pretty and the composition is lovely.
They all look chilly with their feathers puffed up. Brrr...
Warmer today though. Loved seeing the snow fall earlier. Did not love the rain. :-)

  11. Your photos are extraordinary, Linda, the birds and the beautiful moon. I keep telling myself to dust off my good camera but I can barely find time to light the stove.

Fun at your cottage. I forget if it's year round. Or perhaps you go until the temps drop? I'm so spotty that I've forgotten so much.

I envy your dedication to gym and then your time with friends. I need to move near you!

Hope you're having a good week. Very strong winds here, too.

    1. Oh Jane...you make me laugh!!
Our cottage is seasonal...we draw water from the Lake, so when it gets too cold, we have to shut her down. We could go...with no water, as we have a furnace, but it is not very convenient. It is amazing how many things you CANNOT do without water! We will open in March...weather permitting...and start the whole cycle again! We try to visit at least once a month...just to make sure no damage...and no critters inside! The winds are very high on the Great Lakes, and our trees are 100's of years old...so far so good!

  12. Love the photos of the sweet little birds. I always feel so sorry for them this time of year. It makes me realize how lucky I am for my warm and cozy fire. Good for you for hitting the gym! I am getting a new 'fit-board' tomorrow - it was a gift for Christmas from my daughter and it just came in the mail. She is coming to visit and bringing it, along with my new baby grandson. I can't wait to see them. I guess I will have to knuckle down and get in shape - no excuses now! Crochet really does lend itself to cold winter nights in front of the fire! You'll have to share your projects with us. Love the moon shot. I've been seeing the big and little dippers whenever it is clear. Stay warm and cozy. Hugs xo Karen

  20. Beautiful shots of birds. You have a great variet there. Someone bought me a bird house/table making book for Christmas ~ only problem is we do not have the varieties here because it is American/Canadian . . . lol. Never mind I am sure I can adapt them to our bird life . . . lol

Very cold here and due to plunge to minus 10 degrees centigrade (=14 degrees F). Very cold for us fragile Brits . . . lol

Nice shot of the moon. I have been reading about alleged Flying Saucer there during our moon landings and beyond . . . looks as though a little green man has left a few lights on in your photo . . . lol

    1. Hi Eddie...
Thanks! I do love the birds.
You are smart, you can adapt for your species of birds.
We are also in Celsius here...that is nippy! We are going up to +7c tomorrow! Buckets of rain expected...better than snow!
I also love the Moon, and capturing photos...I think I see the lights! Hahaha!
