Workin' The Front Yard....

Yesterday afternoon, was spent working on my gardens here at home.

I started at the front...seems logical enough...first sweeping, re-arranging, watering and generally tidying up.

Lots of Pine needles from the big old Pine tree, as it had been pretty windy the last couple of days.. 

Took a few shots of the front walk..with the big hostas...I also planted a pot..right by the first step...with succulents...and they are loving it there...

My big planter has a Perennial Grass, which I will plant in the fall...I added some different things to the planter...including some variegated Nasturtiums...which should look great when they start to flower..and trail down...


 

 As I made my way to the back yard....to a MUCH bigger garden....this scene struck me as rather beautiful...when I opened the back gate, the Ivy was actually growing along the pathway...and everything looked rather lush and inviting...so I paused...and took a picture of course!!! :o)
 

Kind of an odd day weather-wise....cloudy...humid...and even a shower around noon...hope you all enjoyed your day...what ever the weather....long weekend coming up.....supposed to be fantastic weather....:o)

                  These succulents are in the backyard.....

These 4 little guys are at the cottage...with sedums in them...aren't they hilarious!!! We got them at a thrift store about 5 years ago...and they have been blooming ever since...they are...from left to right..

                    They are part of the landscape at the cottage...and we love them!!

Tiny Veggies & And Other "New" Flowers....

My Zuccinni's were coming along so well last weekend.....

But the heat last week took its toll on my planter of Zuccinni...

So....I repotted the plants...

Cleaned off all the shrivelled leaves...

Laid the tiny Zuccinni's that had fallen off...to rest...

And I started watering...and watering...

From Thursday to Sunday....

I watered...and....on Sunday...I saw new growth.....new leaves....and some beautiful blossoms...

They had survived...they were even flourishing....

I picked a new spot for them....more shaded towards mid-afternoon...

Fingers crossed that they will survive the week...with no rain....

Another Pepper flowering....not sure what happened to the other pepper already growing....maybe a raccoon ate it?!

More Tomato flowers.....but no fruit yet...  :o(

But .....I am really impressed with the improvement in the Zuccinni's....

This is the first Hosta flower....I had shown you the buds last week...

I believe these purple guys are probably weeds...but they come back every year....and I like them!! Check out that piston!!!

I was absolutely thrilled to see this last weekend....one of my yuccas is going to flower!!!!   Fantastic!!!   hasn't bloomed for about 5 years...I will definitely be featuring these flowers when they open...

And I even got a little bug!!!

Milkweed is flowering....the Monarchs and Hummingbirds love these....

Summer Anemone has nice big buds....these are a very soft pale pink...lovely...

Check out this great afghan I picked up at the Port Thrift...

It is really big....and in perfect shape...

Cost me a whopping $3.50!!!!

I still never understand why people get rid of things like this....it will be an heirloom!!!!

It actually fits a double bed....LOVE it!!

Found a home on the couch at the cottage....

For those "cooler" evenings...  :o)

White Daturas & Pink SweetPeas.....

Once again....the weekend brings new flowers for me to photograph....
and share with you....:o)


I finally got to enjoy a few of my Daturas this weekend....

And it looks like some buds for next weekend, as well...

I have been a HUGE fan of this plant for many years....I find the flower extremely beautiful...and the scent is heavenly...

Sad......that they are so shortlived...
blooms only lasting for one evening...and then fading by the next afternoon....:o( 

Hope you enjoy them as much as I do...

Another of my favorites is the perennial SweetPea....love the sweet flowers, and the ever winding tendrils.....perhaps next weekend I will cut some for a 
                                    small vase....

       

 

Just had to include this Pink Lily and my ever-lovin' vine geraniums...:o)

This little guy was pretty busy, down on the beach deck....

Not quite sure WHAT he is dragging home to the family....

But he sure worked hard at it!!!
