Once again....the weekend brings new flowers for me to photograph....
and share with you....:o)
I finally got to enjoy a few of my Daturas this weekend....
And it looks like some buds for next weekend, as well...
I have been a HUGE fan of this plant for many years....I find the flower extremely beautiful...and the scent is heavenly...
Sad......that they are so shortlived...
blooms only lasting for one evening...and then fading by the next afternoon....:o(
Hope you enjoy them as much as I do...
Another of my favorites is the perennial SweetPea....love the sweet flowers, and the ever winding tendrils.....perhaps next weekend I will cut some for a
small vase....
Just had to include this Pink Lily and my ever-lovin' vine geraniums...:o) |
This little guy was pretty busy, down on the beach deck....
Not quite sure WHAT he is dragging home to the family....
But he sure worked hard at it!!!
Hope you all enjoyed your day...
Somewhat cooler...and windier....
But nice.....just the same...
Cheers! :o)

I've never seen a Daturas before...how lovely and that little sweet pink center is just so cute! Aren't you glad you were there to see them since they fade so quickly?
ReplyDeleteI've always loved sweetpeas. They were the first kind of flower I planted from seed as a little girl...a whole row of them along a chain-link fence in our back yard. :)
What a lovely memory that must be...:o)
DeleteI remember Hollyhocks, from when I was a kid...
Sweet peas are my favourite flower! My nana used to get them from her garden and wrap them in paper towel and give them to me to take home.
ReplyDeleteI am glad you did not stomp on that ant.
Seems like SweetPeas are a crowd favorite!!!
DeleteI actually got a shot of the ant disappearing under the deck with his morsel...all is well in the ant world!!
I read your post on my ipad and forgot to come back and leave a comment. Lovely datura blooms, glad you got to enjoy them. My sweet peas reached a certain height then stopped growing????? Oh well, perhaps they didn't like the heat we had and will do better now it is a bit cooler.
ReplyDeleteI find that the sweetpeas only go as high as the support they are given...does that make sense??? And then they just shoot out at the sides and tangle around any nearby plants!!!
ReplyDeleteWow, Daturas are one of my faves too Linda. Have you tried Brugmansias?
ReplyDeletePaul
Welcome Paul....Brugmansia are wonderful...there is one at my local greenhouse, and they bring it out every year when it is blooming....fabulous peachy colour...
