Wavy....Wet and Windy...

It was a different scene this
past weekend at the cottage...

Wavy...Wet...Windy...

The grass was soooo long
that I had to rake in spots, after the Mr. did his thing...

We had lots of Sun on Saturday....but we had to find a spot to sit, out of the S/W brisk wind....

Still.......beautiful...

Checked out my veggies...these are my Zucinnis...and the lower pots are tomatoes...2 varieties... and below that red, green, and yellow peppers...along with some parsley...I went with some older containers this year..and put them under some shelter...otherwise, they will just shrivel, under the heat of the sun all day...so far....so good... :o)

First little pepper flowerettes...so pretty and dainty...

My Weigelia is in full bloom...this used to be a variegated leaf, and over the years, has become all green...

This Ninebark Shrub, started out with deep burgundy leaves....they too have become green...but, what a lovely flower, EH??   check out the tiny red pistons...

My Irises don't seem as plentiful this year....My Yellow ones, are kinda pitiful...I guess after soooo much heat, and then tons of rain...didn't take any photos of them, as they are in need of deadheading...and looked kinda sad...

You know those days...when the flies are starting...and all they seem to want to do...is sunbathe??? Well....it was one of those days!!!
Had dinner inside, 'cause it was tooooo windy on the sunporch...but we had live entertainment while we dined...this was a very young raccoon...when I tried to go out and get a better shot..he would run up the tree....the older ones usually just look at you, and continue whatever they were doing...

This was the scene on Sunday morning....we could hear the rain on the roof all night....love that!

We got everything cleaned up...and scooted to the car....during a break in the action...saw lots of ominous clouds all the way home....

Remember my little violet from a few weeks back...well....he is still going strong...

And I noticed yesterday, that his neighbor is sprouting
some buds......

Geee....I LOVE African Violets...have you noticed????

Hope you all had a great weekend...even with the rain...today is
kinda gloomy...but the sun is supposed to shine tomorrow.....

And today he had a little flower...not going to be as frilly as his neighbor, but certainly as lovely...:o)

                         Cheers!                    :o)

  2. You sure know your way around a garden! That is one amazing Afican violet. You've been busy with painting, bonfires, thrifting, what not. And dramatic weather! I do love that little embroidered runner you found. It reminds me of Mary Engelbreit. Have a great week!

It looked like a cool day at the lake. My iris weren't as plentiful this year, just had a few of each colour.

  4. I love the waves crashing on the shoreline. I enjoy being by water as the weather can affect it in many ways and then there's the big sky and all the changes there. Great photos! Pamela

    1. Yes Pamela: That is a big draw for us...the saying goes "If you don't like the weather...wait 5 minutes, and it will change"
