Thrifty Thursday....

The last month or so, of Thrift Shopping...

Has brought home a few different items, for me...

I always look at the bags of left-over wool...

Nothing ever caught my eye...

Until I saw this bundle...

All...lovely, soft, furry wools...

Very nice colours as well...

Thought these would be great for adding a little extra zip to a crochet project...

In different colours, from those I usually tend to use...

$3 for the 6 balls...

Very thrifty!!

When I spied these small bundles of Gingham...

I was thrilled!!!

And...

They were...

Buy 1...get 1!!!

They are in 2-3 yd bundles...

And I think the total was $5!!!

I see more Raggedy Ann possibilities here!!

And...

For the record...

Gingham...is VERY pricey nowadays!

Now we get to my more USUAL purchases...

This small crystal vase is fabulous!!!

Sooooo heavy and thick...

Even my boyfriend was impressed...

$2....

How could I NOT bring it home...or...have it where it is right now...at the cottage...

Perfect for small flower arrangements...

Anyone familiar with this particular pattern??

It is a real treasure...

I love it!!

Of course I do...

Silly me!!

Next up...

Another aqua glass jar, with lid...

Still on the kitchen shelf at the cottage...

Perhaps it will be this summer's receptacle for beach finds...

Beach glass...small shells etc...

This tiny Cornsilk creamer was very difficult to photograph...

Love the etching...

And...

The Balled handle...

Also very heavy...

$1....

Perfect!!!

I have already used these 2 sweet white glass plates...

Hand Painted...

With Irises!!

How seasonal is that!

I beleieve D and I had 2 pieces {each}..tee hee hee of Buttermilk Blueberry Breakfast Cake on them a few weeks ago!!!!

As I recall...

They were 2 for 25 cents!

Sweet!!!

last...but not least...

2 framed water colours...

I am always attracted to botanical paintings...{no surprises there!}

They are of a Wood Violet and a Harebell...

Very dainty...

The Artist...Jane Wallace..

Put a hand written note on the back...

I always wonder who donates these treasures...

But..

At least they are enjoyed for a while longer...$2 for the pair...

When I googled Harebell...it seems it is a member of the Carpathian family...

I do grow these at the cottage, so that makes it even more precious!!

Violets are also abundant in my gardens...as they are a big favorite...

So........

Those are the Thrifty Finds over the last wee while...

Have you picked up anything lately??

Hope you all had a great day...

Rainy...damp...windy...crummy!!!!

Hope tomorrow brings us back some sunshine and warmth!!!

                           Cheers!  :o)

  1. Wow, what wonderful finds! You are so lucky to find yarn and fabric in a thrift shop, I don't think I have EVER seen any. The crystal jug is beautiful. I'm no help, as I only own a few real crystal pieces; I have a pair of Lenox champagne flutes with a similar pattern, maybe they're from the same one? IDK. Everything you found is terrific.

    1. I always think that...kinda sad in a way...especially paintings and such...
I guess it must be people with no family, and when they "go"...all their stuff gets donated...but, at least, I can enjoy it again...kinda makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside, eh Betsy?

  6. beautiful colors of wool! the only wool I can wear is the softest... lambs wool.
my mother bought me a Pendleton jacket once and before I got home from school it had rubbed my neck so raw it was bleeding! I loved it. but couldn't wear it. wool does not like me. but it's so beautiful.
all your finds are! and totally such amazing bargains! xo

    1. Ouch!!! that must have been very uncomfortable....I guess cotton is great for everyone...no itching involved!!
To be honest...I say "wool"...but they are probably acrylic...then you would be ok!!

  9. What a jackpot day at the thrifts!!! Sure wish the two of us could go prowling around together for our goodies. We would be a fun pair I am sure! I have quite a method to my thrifing. Do you? I peruse quickly, picking up anything I see that is a must have. Make a swift pass to the areas I am especially interested in. Dishes, furniture, textiles....putting anything purchase worthy in my buggy. Then after a thorough look-see, decide what will be purchased and what will be put back! Always fun! Love your finds!!! I shall be making that cake again today...tis a favorite here now!

    1. We are EXACTLY the same!!!
I also go to what I like the most...grab it...carry it around with me {I don't get a buggy!}...and then decide at the end!
But.....as we like the same things...we would be fighting over stuff!!!hahaha!
Would love to go thrifting with you anyway!!!
