I do find that I am repeating myself a lot lately...
That is why I had toyed with the idea of changing up my blog...
But then...
When I witness things like this...
I remember why I started blogging...
In the first place...
I am a true lover of plants...
Of Nature...
Of birds...
Of family...
And..
Especially..**tee hee hee**
My precious Datura...
This first photo is at the end of the day...
The sun is setting in the background...and the special flower is getting ready to unfurl...In all its beauty...
These next few are just as the setting sun was hitting them..
I see the Spiders love them almost as much as I do...
We can fast-forward to the next morning...
I watered them...as it was pretty darn dry out at the cottage...
Another beautiful thing about the Datura...is...
They are drought tolerant....
And they love full sun!!
And...
They self-sow...
What an absolutely perfect plant....:o)
********
And...in the second place...
I would miss all you lovely ladies...{and a few gentlemen}...
And I hope that you...in turn...would miss my daily musings...
SO....
I will continue the blog...{until I figure out what it is that I want to change about it}...
As always...and as long as you continue to visit me...tee hee hee...
Pretty well the same topics...
Gardening...
February In Sunny Florida...
A few crafts...and thrift shopping...
Cooking...
Motherhood....and of course...the best of all...
***GRANDMOTHERHOOD***
*****************
I wanted to welcome a few new followers..thanks for visiting!!
And...thanks for all the compliments on my "TOES" header...
Isn't it fun...taking a favorite photo..
One that defines how you feel about things...
And putting it right up front...
To grab everyone's attention...
*****************
Hope you are all having a great day...
Hot as H*** here....muggy...damp...rain...sun...CRAZEEEEE!!!
On the menu tonight...

LONG weekend is approaching...
Hope to start tomorrow!!! YAY!!!
Cheers! :o)

Well, you know by now that I like your bloggyness just the way it is - including the toes. Datura is wonderful - is it hardy over the winter? Lovely to see the different stages of the opening flower, it almost doesn't look real the way it unfurls and is then so perfect. Looking forward to more bloggyness from you until you decide if you are going to make a change. Can't wait to see what you have to say for the holidays coming up! Gosh, what a long comment...
ReplyDeleteThanks Amy...
DeleteNot hardy over the winter, but the seed pods are..
I will feature those , when they are "ripe"...
Oh...the holidays are VERY special in my wee world...
Say tuned!
Oh how I adore Moon flowers, Linda! I don't understand what you mean about changing your blog. I think it is just perfect the way it is. I'm so glad we have recently "met". I wouldn't want you to change one iota:)
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for sharing...
P.S. I have a beautiful cup like yellow flower that mimics the way the Datura evolves. I am going to share it on Sunday in hopes that someone will know its name. Fingers crossed:)
I appreciate your kind words,Louise..
DeleteI love the way you sign your name...and your special icon...very precious!
Will look forward to seeing your special flower

ReplyDeleteThanks Elaine...I love the outdoor life...and I guess I will continue to embrace that!
DeleteThat is such a pretty flower. This is the first and only place I've ever seen them, so thank you for introducing them to me, Linda!
ReplyDeleteNo problem, Jennifer...
DeleteYou should try a local seed sharing blog, and see if you can get your hands on a few seeds...they would fit in perfectly n your climate...
I spy lsk on the photos .... did you solve the problem or try something different.
ReplyDeleteDatura are gorgeous blooms, didn't have any this year.
No...Picasa still won't work...so I have turned to PICMONKEY to add my initials..not crazy about the font choice...but better than nothing...
DeleteGet yourself some seeds...well worth it...I could mail you some if you would like...Let me know...
I bet no one could ever guess what my middle initial stands for...ha!
Your datura really is gorgeous, LInda. They are such an elegant plant I think. I'm glad you're going to stick with blogging and what you love. I enjoy reading your posts every day. Hugs. Pam
ReplyDeleteWell then...it is settled...I won't change a thing!
DeleteThanks Pam...
OH. never ever change this blog!!!
ReplyDeletei don't know what a day would be like without becoming tiny and literally WALKING into one of your flowers. i feel like i'm in a magical land.
i always just want to whisper in there.
on august 26th i left you a comment that is DITTO for this last picture here too.
i will make you go back and read it to see what i mean here.
and i'm dead serious.
i would buy it in a heartbeat.
you have a whole new career as an artist cc girl. YOU DO!!! just WOW.
it's that magical way you capture a bloom with the light literally shining THROUGH IT. it's different. and very special. and if it has dew or rain on it ... WELL.
be still my heart!
now.
how you will fit it in with everything else you have going i do not know.
and come to think of it... these years with baby vivian are too precious to muddy up with making a small fortune from your artistic flower paintings. but still ...
XOXOXO !!!!
sorry to use so many capital letters! i don't know how to do italics for emphasis.
LOLOL. so i guess i YELL instead! lol.
Tell me Tammy...what would you whisper if you were in there?
DeleteLots of people take beautiful pictures...I am just happy to capture a few of them...I love flowers...and the feelings they bring out in people...
And you are absolutely right...I will spend my energy with Vivian and my family...they are very satisfying...
And...the comments from friends like you...
Make me very happy...:o)
This is a plant I'm not familiar with, but it looks spectacular! I read that it used to be a common ingredient of love potions and witches brews ... Don't really know what that implies about your flower!
ReplyDeleteI am very surprised that you are not familiar with this, Furry...
DeleteBeing the Gardener that you are...
They are a member of the Deadly Night Shade family, and apparently their seeds are very poisonous...but...with all that beauty, we can certainly over look that!!!
Yes...I guess that makes me a Witch!!! hahaha!
Better than being a B****!!!
Thanks for your insightful comment!
Please do not change your blog. I love it just the way it is.
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty flower! All of your flowers are!!!
ReplyDeleteCottage this weekend? We are off to the lake ourselves. Woo-Hoo!!
xo Kris
