That is strange that the rose mallow didn't bloom this year. I wonder why? I had a friend over for lunch and a nice visit this afternoon. It was another beautiful day here again. Have a good evening.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a lovely day ,Pam...
DeleteI don't know if your rose mallow is the same as the mallow we have here, but if it is, it is very strange that it didn't bloom, hope it is just having a rest ready for next year. Christmas shopping already!! Gosh you are organised, although you probably have a lot more to buy for than I do. I have to ask what chalet sauce is, not heard of that before. xx
ReplyDeleteYup...got a few gifts...no time like the "present"..hahaha! Gosh...I break myself up!
DeleteMaybe the rose mallow wants to be named and then she will bloom.
ReplyDeleteI shall name her "Rose"...yeah, that's it..."Rose"....now....BLOOM!!!
DeleteHmm...I don't know! I don't think I've ever seen a rose mallow but it looks a lot like the flowers on my Roses of Sharon. Did you have a colder spring or anything like that? Yum, rotisserie chicken is one of my favorites. We love the ones from Costco. :)
ReplyDeleteNot sure what happened...now I am wondering if they are a bi-ennial perhaps?!
DeleteI get my rotisserie chicken at Costco as well!!!
Beautiful flower ... hope it comes back to you next Summer ... LOVE the chicken salad at Costco ... it's made with their rotisserie chicken rather than the canned stuff. I add a few chopped pecans and sliced grapes to mine and then serve with come peach halves ... wonderful summer supper or a great luncheon anytime of the year.
ReplyDeleteI think you should start a cooking blog, Linda!!
DeleteYou have some great ideas...
I had a couple things not bloom this year...strange. But we had such a cool spring I think maybe they got confused to what season it was! But my Forsythia bloomed twice.
ReplyDeleteDid you really write Christmas shopping?! :)
Sounds like you had a lovely day. I raked...all day. But it was nice and had two caramel apples for dinner! XO
Perhaps you are right, Sarah....will wait 'til next year..*sigh*..
DeleteYes....Christmas shopping....I have crocheted a few things, but I am always on the hunt for something special...
Raking is good....caramel apples are better!!!
Never have heard of that plant before! I am ready to hunker down for a long winter's nap!!!
Deletexo Kris
Unusual that your mallow plant didn't bloom. They are usually such hardy plants and give off lots of blooms and then lots of seed heads. Mine was overcrowded in the fence garden and still managed to poke through and bloom. Fingers crossed for you for blooms next year.
ReplyDeleteThat was what I thought, Linda....so, we'll see what happens next year!
DeleteI have a few others, that also were no shows...will feature them soon...
