This past Summer...
And Fall....
i gave my houseplants...
A...
Good...Thorough...
Inspection...
And....
Sadly enough...
A lot of them...
Did...
Not...
Measure up...
So...
Out with the old..
And...
In with the new....
I am pleased to introduce to you...
My newest Houseplant...
A Maiden hair Fern...
Isn't she lovely?
Not sure how well she'll do...
I have been misting her...
She gets a wee bit of afternoon sunshine...
And...the wall lamp in the evenings♥
I found the shape of the leaves very intriguing...
Hopefully she will perform well for me...
This tiny Kalanchoe was in the backyard all Summer...
Bloomed profusely...
And is just at the end of another bloom♥
If you ever see them...at the Supermarket...or your favorite garden store...
Grab a couple...they are so long lasting...
Just trim off the faded blooms...and within a short while...
They will bloom again for you...
Hope you are all having a great day...
The storm is still with us....very gusty winds...periods of hail...
Since it is so uninviting outdoors...
I got myself to the grocery store...
And I just spent 2 1/2 hours in the kitchen...
Preparing a few goodies! { no...not those kind of goodies...but...."good" goodies...hahaha!}
First of all......Lazy cabbage rolls...
Secondly........Spaghetti Sauce...
Thirdly............Meat Balls...
Fourthly..........Chicken & rice soup...
The house smells like a Polish/Italian/English restaurant!!!
***********
On tonights menu this windy Monday
Homemade burger patties...cabbage rolls....greek salad!
Had to add Greek to the restaurant! hahaha!

Thanks Mary....wish I could cook like you!!!
DeleteMy favorite kind of fern! My last one didn't do well and I've been looking for another!
ReplyDeleteGot mine at The Greenhouse...my favorite Nursery/Floral shop...hope she survives!
DeleteI do best with plants that never (alright, make that rarely) need to be watered. I have a healthy collection of jade plants. They're very prolific.
ReplyDeleteYour new lovely is absolutely lovely!!
I have a HUGE Jade plant....she was outside for the summer♥
DeleteI don't find the watering a burden...less is more!
Jades are my favorite because they don't need much water.
DeleteWas that confusing the first time? Sorry.
Absolutely not, Martha....I meant watering in general...I enjoy it!
DeleteChecking in on them, so to speak!
I know.....I am nutty!?
I can't believe your Kalanchoe has survived this long. You much have a really green thumb! Maybe I'll buy one in the winter to brighten up the house. The maiden hair fern is very pretty. Sweet ruffly leaves on it. It's clearing off a bit here and the temperatures are dropping. Gonna be a cold week.
ReplyDeleteYes....go for it Pam!
DeleteStill lousy and windy here today! A few flurries last night!
I love the maidenhair fern. So delicate and pretty...
ReplyDeleteThat is a lovely fern! Hope she last for you. I, too, have a kalanchoe and she is doing really well. I had her outside all summer and in she came and is still blooming. Hopefully I have chosen the right spot for her so she will last the winter!
ReplyDeletePlenty of sun, Devon...she is a succulent you know!
DeleteNot too heavy on the watering, though♥
Lovely new fern ... I love lazy cabbage rolls ... taste just as good with a lot less work :)
ReplyDeleteThey sure do, Linda! A LOT less work!
DeleteWHY on earth is it so much fun always hearing what you're going to have for dinner?
ReplyDeleteit is.
and i'm going to open a can of hormel chili with beans and put it over some fritos.
you'd think reading about your restaurant would seem like torture. but I LOVE IT !!!!
LOLOL.

NEVER quit telling us what you're cooking. it's a favorite part of this blog!
I can always smell it from here. oh yes. and the pictures of fernie girl are to die for. so beautiful. and the flowers . . . okay. stop me.
Enjoy your chili! You are NO idiot...different strokes for different folks!
