Yesterday At The Still Frozen Cottage......

This is what greeted us at the cottage....

No way to get in....not even by jumping the fence!

Luckily our neighbours driveway was shovelled, so we pulled in there...

And walked thru to our place!

Very tall drifts on the west of the property....

That will take FOREVER to thaw!

Couldn't open the shed door....

Good thing I brought some bird seed with me....♥️♥️

This is the western part again....that drift is at least 10 feet tall!

The eastern side is almost bare....

Gosh....

Which way was the wind blowing to do this???

Lots of Bunny tracks....

Guess they are nibbling on the green parts!

The view from inside....

Where it was not too cold....lovely and tidy....ready....waiting    ♥️♥️♥️

Hope you are all having a great weekend...

Thanks for all your kind words about Miss V....it sure is great being back with her!

On the menu this Sunny Saturday...

In the oven as we speak....

Fall off the bones ribs....onion soup potatoes...

                   Fresh asparagus with parmesan cheese...

can't wait to dig in....will have to wait a while longer!!!

Enjoy your evening....

                         Cheers!  :o)

  4. I've already noticed some snow gone here so hopefully it won't take too long at your cottage. The sun is so much warmer now already. You must be so anxious to get up there and 'chill'. Cute selfie of you and the boyfriend. The free-loadin' kitties are starting to get along with mine a little better after a few days. Things are settling down.

  5. We live about a mile from Lake Ontario and the wind blows in circles here. It's not unusual to have blades of grass sticking through in one spot and waist high drifts in another. I can hardly wait for the grass to turn green!

I'm afraid the lake will keep us cold for a long time this year. That's the hardest thing about living so close. It's often ten degrees cooler at our house than just five miles south. Guess I'd better not pack the sweaters away too soon.

  9. I took a walk into my back yard today Linda and at first glance all I could think was, "it will take forever for this snow to melt." This evening I went back there again and I couldn't believe the amount that was gone! It seems like it is never ending this year but it will melt. And then, Linda, you will be frolicking and showing your toes:) Thank you so much for sharing your view with us and don't forget, it might be time to start thinking about planting those Poppies! Wednesday is Plant a Flower Day!

  12. Oh Linda...look at that snow!!! I can hardly imagine. I was tired from the long trip home, and laid out on our porch swing in the sun, and all the birds are back. My Southern CA birds, sparrows, doves and yellow finches. I have to admit...I love the sun!

  16. Beautiful pictures! OK. You have your pictures. The snow can go now. I can't believe how much you have there. It's almost gone here and it can stay away until next winter, thank you very much. But time moves so quickly that I'm sure I'll be enjoying my spring flowers before too long. I like the picture of you and your love.

  18. Great picture of you and the boyfriend ... even if it did make me feel "cold" with that background. Dinner sounded yummy. We are still in a "soup" mode here with chilly weather so I'm off to make a batch of crockpot French onion soup! A little soup, good bread, a nice cheese and a glass of wine will help. We had warm temps the other day in Northern Michigan and can actually SEE some of the snow going away ... there is a light at the end of the tunnel .... and it is NOT an oncoming train! LOL Linda

  19. Wow, that is a crazy amount of snow!!!!!!!! You need record high temps to melt that lot!! I bet that you couldn't believe it when you got out there. At doesn't look too piled up on the cottage itself, I expect that you were relieved about that. Hope that you enjoyed your visit! xx

  20. Hi Linda. It sure looks pretty there with the white snow and the blue sky. I'd say it was an east wind that blew the snow into the huge drifts on the west side. A LOT of east wind! lol At least your plants were protected by snow from the rabbits. Think positive. :) Another month will make a huge difference I'm sure. Have a great week ahead!
