A Quickie Garden Tour.....

Hope you all had a great day....

It was a mix of sun and cloud today...and still breezy...very pleasant indeed!

Got a chance to stroll thru the garden, while Miss V was napping....

The star of the show, has to be the Summer Anemone...

And boy oh boy...has she spread herself around the front garden this year...

Only a few buds open...but I am sure by early next week...

The whole front garden will be full of Summer Anemone!

My deep pink Peonies are almost ready to burst...altho...a wee bit late this year...

Johnsons Cranesbill Blue Geraniums are looking great....

My deep purple...almost black...Columbine just starting to bloom....

White Peony ready to bust open...can't wait to have some in the house...

                    Minus the ants of course!!!

How many bugs did you count??

Pink Verbanum in one of my planters...beautiful!!

Well.....that completes the short tour for today...

Hope you enjoyed it...do you have these flowers in your gardens??

We have 2 nice striploin steaks ready for the BBQ...

All peppered up and soaking in Worcheshire sauce..

1/2 a baked potato each...with fresh chives from the garden...

Fresh Ontario Asparagus....and some sauteed mushrooms...

                                             And that is a wrap.......

Off to the cottage in the morning...

Hope you all ahve a wonderful sunny happy weekend...

And I'll see you all in a few days...

                                           Cheers!  :o)

  2. Oh, these photos are beautiful. I thought the geranium was a morning glory. Glory be...I'm bad at this. Nice that Miss V is there again. Do you babysit certain days of the week, Linda? I had little Gwynn (mom changed the spelling of her name to two n's now) here today. Lots of fun as she is crawling now and ends up stuck everywhere. haha! Just kidding...nana's on the job. I love having her over. Dinner sounds delish, as usual. Hope the weather is good this weekend for you. We are supposed to have sun and some cloud but hot. That sounds like good cottage weather. Have a cold one for me. Hugs, Deb

I don't leave comments on blogs with word verification because it's too much of a hassle deciphering the code and my time is limited. Word verification is aggravating for most folks which is why so many people dislike it. It's not personal, it's just an irritation for visitors.

  8. The ants are all over my peony buds too, and several opened this morning. This is such a lovely time in the garden with so many blooms opening daily ... it's hard to keep up with all the photos. I'm behind posting my garden update this week, but that is okay, have had lots of other things going on. Enjoy the cottage.

Yes, I'm back and YES, I enjoyed every last second of my visit:) Your garden is thriving and looking pretty darn good too. My Peonies are ready to pop too. (albeit late this season:) Oh I can hardly wait. You lucky girl you have white ones too!!! Mine had to be sprayed with garlic and oil too keep those darn ants from eating the buds:)

Thank you so much for sharing your garden tour with us Linda. Dinner sounds fabulous! I'll be back to blogging on Sunday...

    1. Hi there ~~louise~~...glad you are back...hope you had a great time!
I have 4 white ones open today...already cut, and in a vase!
I never put anything on the ants...I thought they were part of the process of helping the buds open!

  18. I have two peonies to plant (if the mosquitos here will let me!!!). Can't wait for them to bloom in the coming years! How do you rid the ants before bringing them into the house. I know they make the blossoms open but someone said you stick them in a bucket of water head (bloom) first and the ants are gone. True?

    1. Oh those darn mosquitoes...we actually had a few this weekend...strange for us!
When I cut mine...which I did after arriving home...I did them into the pool..upside down...and that seems to take care of and ride a long buggies!!
