What A Day.......

What a day...

Today was our day to babysit and have a sleepover with Miss V...

I got crackin' early...in the kitchen...chili going...huge chicken in the crockpot...

Phonecall at 10:30...Misss V has a temp of 102*...Erika going to pick her up and bring her here...

Arrived...Miss V was punky...dose of Advil and off for a nap...

When she awoke....she was her old self...but...I still made an app't to see the Dr...

Can't believe I got in on the same day...

At the Dr...she was Miss Congeniality...no fever...but a bit of red in her right ear...

Back on the anti-biotics...

Grampa took us to Dairy Queen...she really wasn't interested...even though she LOVES ice cream...

Was kinda pale...and then started getting warm again...

Back at home...more advil...Grampa went to fill her script...we watched bubble guppies...

Back on her feet...off to the park...shoes full of sand...then to the pool...

Here's where my story begins...

I also got a few odd planting jobs done, while she was napping...had planned to share tonight...

Not enough time to do all that...sooooooo..I chose the Daturas that I snapped this morning...

One open...and one ready for tomorrow...

I did this on the IPad...

So I can't move this picture!!!

Only got this one shot...I then joined them in the pool...

She loved the boat and shapes I had bought her...and loved filling the boat with water with the shovel that came with it...

She had another small relapse...but got her fed...cuddled and off to dreamland...

I AM POOPED!!!

Not easy being a Nana!  {isn't that bathing suit adorable}

Here is the latest yield from my strawberry plant...

Will put these in Miss V's overnite oatmeal in the morning...she loves them!

Hope you all had a great day...

Sunny....warm...a/c back on!!

Hopefully on the road to the cottage after we drop Miss V...

Have a great weekend...

It's gonna be a beauty!!!

Cheers!  :o)

  2. Glad you were there to care for poor V. It's hard to see a little one sick. She's a lucky girl to have that wonderful pool at Nana's. Love the Daturas photos. I bought a bunch more annuals to plant around my apple tree this weekend. Gonna be a hot one. Have fun at the cottage. Hugs

Over night oatmeal is done in a jar in the fridge overnight! Oatmeal and milk....gets absorbed...heat and add fruit and yogurt...delish!
Have a great mini vacation....well deserved!

  9. Poor Miss V
Hope she is OK and gets better soon - it is always a worry when little ones are not right . . . .and to be disinterested in ice cream - she must have been poorly.

I used to get ear infections when I was a kid. (not long ago . . . lol).
Loved the shot of the pool - yesterday I could have died to be in there it was so hot.

On a morning break - I am driving the Bus today.

  11. Being a Nana is tough work, but you and Grampa are heroes!
Hope the child is better soon. We fought ear infections with Bethany, but she couldn't get "normal" ear infections like other kids. Her's came with an inner ear cyst inherited from her grampa. Thankfully, she was our only child prone to recurring ear infections.
I'm sure Miss V will be feeling perky again today.

  13. Hope Miss V is feeling better. Oh those earaches can be so painful.

Did you buy that Datura all ready blooming because mine is not anywhere near blooming. It doesn't even have buds yet!!! I do love them though and can't wait for buds:)

Sounds like you had an exhausting day, Linda. Aren't they just GREAT! I can not wait for the kids to arrive in August. I'll be saving energy come July, lol...

    Thanks for sharing, Linda...GREAT shots!

  18. Oh, poor little sweetheart. My older daughter used to get quite a few ear infections when she was that young. Not fun. But at least they eventually stop. Oh, I'll bet it's not easy being Nana. But it's probably all worth it!

  20. Have been trying to comment on the last couple posts to no avail… trying something else to see if it works.
Your peonies are so pretty – one of my favourite flowers. Love watching the ants scuttle all over them.
Beautiful daturas – such a magnificent flower. I knew they were also called angel’s trumpets but didn’t realise that they are extremely poisonous if ingested. Yikes – keep Miss V away! Hope you enjoy the long weekend, Linda. Very hot and humid here.

  22. Good morning Linda. I hope that Miss V is better!!!! Hey, didn't mean to drop this on you so suddenly, but I was asked to be part of a blog hop. I said yes, and as agreed, posted my post today and answered a few questions. I was then to refer someone else's blog, and so on. I didn't have the chance to talk to you, to get your permission. We were away over weekend, and life just got hectic. I was so worried about it last night, and then I slapped myself back to reality, and realized......hey, it is only a blog post. Stop worrying. So, if you don't care to do it...NO WORRIES!!!!!! I know that is a bit like a tag, and I don't do those. I never participate in blog parties, and such. So truly, no pressure!! Hope you are well!
