I spy somebody in the mirror!!! |
Hope you are all having a great day....
My friend Betsy...over at...My Five Men...inspired me with her strawberry plant...
I finally picked myself up one today...YAY!!!
I will leave it here at home...so I can keep my eye on it...
And never miss a juicy berry!!
Strange day weather-wise...
Not much rain to speak of...but keeps threatening...
Off to the cottage in the morning...
Can't wait to see my brussel sprouts!!!
But...my handyman emailed me...deck is not painted...:o(
Too much rain...but...glad for the rain...my plants out there need it...
So.........
I picked up a bag of spinach-feta perogies...YUMMO!!!
Gonna fry those babies up...
With some onions and diced peameal bacon...
Slather them with sour cream...
And sprinkle on some freshly snipped chives......
And call it dinner!!!
Enjoy the rest of your day...
See you in a few days...
Cheers! :o)
linda
Dinner sounds yummy!! I hope that you get lots of lovely strawberries, and yes, keep it at home, far far away from that racoon!! I have still not forgiven him for his antics last year munching on things! xx
ReplyDeleteOh...me too Amy!
DeleteNo watermelons this year!
that green pot is beautiful, yummy strawberries, your supper sounds amazing,
ReplyDeleteI have a larger one to match....very useful !
DeleteAww this strawberry look beautiful an perfect!
ReplyDeleteI wasn't lucky with strawberries because here summer is so hot and almost we haven't spring.
Maybe the next summer.
Betsy says to plant in the fall.....
DeleteFingers crossed!
What an adorable strawberry! In a gorgeous green pot!
ReplyDeleteYes...it is!
DeleteHuh! My crop failed this year. We had too much rain, at the wrong time, and all the little flowers were battered to death by the hail. The strawberries that formed stayed green and are busy rotting away. I've told the plants that if they don't make the effort next year I'm going to dig them under and plant stinging nettles there!
ReplyDeleteI'm fed up!
Well...hi there grumpy Keith! Hahaha!
DeleteGive them another chance.......
yummy mouth watering strawberry ... hope you get lots more
ReplyDeleteThe colour of the strawberry pot is DIVINE...strawberries are just a bonus!!
ReplyDeleteJane x
That tin pot is pretty popular!
DeleteI also have a larger one!
Mmmmm....nothing like freshly picked strawberries warmed by the summer sun. I can't wait until the u-pick opens! I hope all is well at the cottage after all the rain you got there. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteThe cottage was a mixed bag of weather....more fall like one day....and then steaming hot the next!
DeleteFresh strawberries...YUMMY! I've got a few strawberry plants growing in the garden. I hope I get some fruit out of them...before the animals do!
ReplyDeleteSpinach-feta perogies? That sounds sooooo good. We all love perogies here!
I forgot about the critters eating them!
DeletePerogies were excellent.....
It's very cute!! You'll have to put it in the ground at the end of the season and it will spread and sprout next spring.
ReplyDeleteWill do!
DeleteWould you believe I just clicked the "sign out" box over there instead of "publish"? It must be almost time for bed or something...
ReplyDeleteYour strawberry sure is pretty. I'm still not sure I like growing my own. My garden boxes are looking pretty wild these days and a very large "rabbit" keeps eating the berries. ;) If I want to make anything like shortcake or jam, I'll still have to go picking elsewhere.
:0)
I agree...have to pick or buy to get enough to make jam....
DeleteLooks like you got yourself a healthy strawberry plant there!
ReplyDeleteHave a nice weekend at the cottage!!
XO Kris
Oh we did....the kids came out...it was perfect!♥️

Came over from Amy's blog. Was drawn in by her description (and by the name of your blog -- am I correct in assuming you are a Beatles fan?). Looking forward to reading more when I get back from my walk.
ReplyDeleteHi Jean.....welcome!
DeleteYes...I saw the Beatles! Long long ago!
Enjoy your read!
growing your own strawberries is kind of an art I think > I only know a handful of folks who have succeeded in Chicago
ReplyDeleteJust for fun.....see what happens!
